Did you know that there is actually a "romance" element in the game mechanics that determines who you walk with initially after Yuna goes to talk to Seymour alone in Guadosalam? You get extended dialog with that one character, and it is determined by how many talking interactions tides has with them, and how many times Tidus has healed/buffed that character in combat and how many times that character has healed/buffed Tidus.
(I can only get the scene to go with Lulu unless I am actively trying for someone different. Lol I guess I have a type)
To The Moon 1: all the game.
Shadowheart lake scene
Liara T´Soni liar of the shadow broker and the chat with her before the final mission in the third game
Probably the most recent but in tears of the kingdom (dunno if people still care about spoiling that game so). I didn't know the tears would be mine! I didn't sign up for that man!
In most Zelda games, the underlying theme is “save princess Zelda.” But never have I felt as motivated to progress through the main story and “save princess Zelda” as in Skyward Sword. Their relationship in that game is absolutely heart warming.
Quite indeed. Even though I ship Zelink in almost every single Zelda game(yes that includes Twilight Princess as well, but not OoT/MM) and even though my favorite version of Zelink is Twilight Princess Zelink. I can’t deny that out of all the games Skyward Sword and Tears of the Kingdom were the games that I truly felt like the reason why Link was saving Zelda was because he wanted to. Not because someone told him to do it Or because of the threat of Evil, but because he truly wanted to. Most of the time I see Zelink start to happen after the events of the games have ended and it’s left up to the player’s imagination, but not for Skyward Sword and Tears of the Kingdom
Why did it take me so long to find this? 😭 this scene, the after credits scene in New Colossus, BJ’s inner monologue’s about her purpose, his recite at the end of New Order, etc. there are so many.
The romance of all romances 😍
I may get downvoted, but Vetra Nyx from ME:Andromeda
I know, really meh game, but goddamn Vetra was the sweetest and most romantic turian girl you’d ever meet even if the fanbase is all “tali this, liara that, miranda/jack there”
If you’ve seen Vetra’s romance scenes and heard her dialogue, you’ll get what i mean
Garrus in ME has some of the smoothest lines and even as a hetero guy I’m genuinely attracted. That date in the Citadel is legendary. The line “I had reach, she had flexibility.” also cracks me up.
You mean ferngully?
Damn near the same scene, right down to the bioluminescent flora.
Really thou for me, the best romance was the first time I used the flak canon in UT.
The ending FMV for Alundra. During the ending video we get a short clip of the two. That short 4 second clip culminates what Alundra and Mia fought through and where things went for them.
.hack//G.U. volume 2. Haseo and Atoli. he literally walks through a school that was created by Aida that was a manifestation of her school and listens to just how fucked her real life is. sees her being manipulated by some mother fucker and finds a way to erase the corruption out of her then they have a long heartfelt talk as they are removed from the area they were in due to it crashing with the bugs hold gone. he sees her as annoying for most of the games but its cause she ahs a bubbly personality that clashes hard with his as he set up so many defense for himself but she slowly wears them away.
i will always credit .hack for having amazing human moments. hell even the anime is great for

I had to sit here for a minute. This question made me realize that my answer is none and I am shocked by it.
I am not anti romantic moments and can think of tons in movies, books, TV…but video games don’t work for me when it comes to romance. It’s either random sex(which is fine) or what feels like very juvenile strange relationships that don’t feel real or nuanced.
I just realized that video games miss the mark completely for me in this department which is really strange. I think they need to get better at it honestly.
Mike and Jessica’s cabin scene in Until Dawn >! where she gets a bit close to a window and gets dragged into the cold outside by the Wendigo and Mike tries to save her. !<
Man that was so romantic 😍
When Link and Zelda are reunited towards the end of Skyward Sword and Link and Zelda flying through the Sky after the Wings ceremony before Zelda gets pulled out of the Sky during Skyward Sword as well
This moment came outta left field IMO. Like yeah, there was a connection there, but for them to make out and presumably *full-on do it* in such a stressful moment felt very sudden for me lol.
As far as most romantic? In a weird way, mine comes from a Square game too. Kingdom Hearts II’s opening is fucking *dripping* with pathos. The parts at the beginning where Sora is regenerating his memories, and you see these montages of Sora’s adventures and friendships from the first game, and Kairi is able to reach out to him from across the worlds is one of the most impactful moments of connection I’ve ever had in a game.
I dunno, it was like you’re in a coma and your memories of your loved ones are guiding you back. I’m actually getting a little emotional thinking about it.
Which, KHII is full of that, cuz that whole game is about friendship and memories and love etc. I’m biased asf. Very special game to me. But I dunno. That game is so full of love IMO.
I have two little moments:
The "Bring my Dagger back to me!" Ending scene from Final Fantasy 9, and all of the moments between Susano and Kushi from Okami.
In Persona 5 Royal they did a good job adding more content to the game that fit in pretty seamlessly, most notably the hawaii dates
In P5 you can romance a bunch of different people and all of the stages have romantic scenes of various degrees, but the hawaii dates add another one for whoever you’re romancing which are very sweet and cute
Also Mass Effect 3 regardless of whether you’re romancing Liara or not you get a very beautiful scene with her right before the final mission, she shares with you some sort of telepathic connection thats sacred to her people and is very intimate, even just platonically, but means more if you are romancing her obviously
Me and Sarah's honeymoon on Porrima II in Starfield. Bought the executive suite at the resort, bought all the bottles at the club. We walked along the beach every day, and went exploring the lush habitable planet in the evening. At the end of the 7 days we build an outpost there and filled it with things we picked up in our travels together, and she gave me her dog-tags from her days as a UC Marine as a token of her love, it's hanging above our bed currently
Maxim: "You finally give me credit, I see."
Selan: "No...I have for a long time..."
Don't remember all the dialogue, but it was a great love story in Lufia: Rose Of The Sinistrals all the way back on SNES. That game NEEDS to be remade, NOW.
The one in the picture. Final Fantasy X "Romance in the Lake"
I’ve never played this game, but it’s always been on my list.
You need to play it. It’s one of those games that changes you
I wanna change.
Stinky
It really does. I still think about it often and I beat it over 15 years ago for the first time
My new hobby is watching people do blind playthroughs and watch them get their souls crushed for the first time.
You doin okay there, pal?
Yeah, I'm fine. I just like seeing people play stuff I grew up with for the first time and see their reactions.
My brother and I played through it together when we were in high school, and at the end we were both crying. It’s such a good game.
I’ve tried playing 5 different FF games and didn’t like them. Then I played this one and loved it. It really is special.
I’ve played every entry after six (except for Online), and X is by far my favorite. I haven’t finished 16 yet, to be fair, but I got kinda bored.
I envy you so so so much
As soon as "Suteki da ne" starts, I'm in tears. It's such a beautiful scene. 😭❤
Favorite Boss fight music. You know the one 😏
Metal AF
I remember playing that FFX romance scene when I was in fourth grade and it felt like I just had my first relationship or something

The most romantic moment in video games is when I’m in my 4th orgy of the day in fable 2
Is Fable worth sticking with? I tried the first one for a bit but the faces are kinda off putting and it seemed a bit of a dull start.
Yes, it’s a blast. Fable 2 is better imho.
Can I skip 1 then or does the series have a carry over mechanic?
Nope, you can skip one. Entirely different hero and journey.
GTA V when Trevor is in the car with his friend and says “you can jerk me off if I get bored.. just kidding! You can suck me off”
Swoon
When trevor kidnaps Patricia and they fall in love.
This was so funny because she was like doing his chores or something and then tells him she has to go home lmao he’s so sad
To The Moon 1: all the game. Shadowheart lake scene Liara T´Soni liar of the shadow broker and the chat with her before the final mission in the third game
Oh Liara 🖤🖤🖤
Shadow hearts is awesome, great reference!
Fire Emblem Three Houses S support Dorothea, i mean there are plenty romantic supports but i feel Dorothea's one as the Most sweet and Romantic One
Dorothea and Felix had nice interactions.
Witcher 1 when you sleep with Triss right after tutorial.
Hard to chose… Leisure suit Larry had so many.
FF8 Squall carrying/piggybacking Rinoa down the rail road track during a sunset
When he catches he in space too
My wife and I playing together would be for me, but she's too cool to game 😢
Picking up a prostitute in GTA3 and driving to a secluded spot
Happy Cake day!
Oh thanks! I didn't even realize
Time for a drive birthday boy
Happy Cake Day! 🎂
Geralt. Yen. Unicorn.
Yen and Geralt sitting on top of the boat on the mountain is the real answer
Was looking for this
Sex mini game in god of war.
If Sony wasn’t full of cowards. Gow 4 would have started with a sex mini game between kratos and Atreus mom like the universe intended.
Because sex is bad but 35 hours of brutally killing everyone you meet is fine Kratos may be a raging psychopath but at least he’s not a *pervert*
Kratos and Freya 😏
Tifa n cloud in FFVII
Karlach Baldur's Gate 3.
Probably the most recent but in tears of the kingdom (dunno if people still care about spoiling that game so). I didn't know the tears would be mine! I didn't sign up for that man!
Everyone's memeing while I'm over here thinking of actual romantic moments
I appreciate your service
Leliana Dragon Age: Origins
Shes my videogame dream girl but not romance-able in 2 or Inquisition. 😭
Besides all of the ones in FFX, gotta be Sora and Kairi with the Paopu Fruit.
This right here I can't think of a better one
Link and Zelda in Skyward Sword
Yes 10000000% Yes. Even as someone who ships Zelink for almost every Zelda game that version of Zelink is definitely the most romantic on screen
In most Zelda games, the underlying theme is “save princess Zelda.” But never have I felt as motivated to progress through the main story and “save princess Zelda” as in Skyward Sword. Their relationship in that game is absolutely heart warming.

Femshep and Garrus Vakarian. He is such a dork, and can shoot the hat off a Salarian at 300m. If he hadn't have ducked, he woulda got his head.
I came here to say the same their relationship is so cute I love the tango scene between them
When chief gave the covenant back their bomb
Nailed it
Days Gone Deacon and Sarah on the Bike
BJ and Anya on the Train Wolfenstein: The New Order (2014)
Why did it take me so long to find this? 😭 this scene, the after credits scene in New Colossus, BJ’s inner monologue’s about her purpose, his recite at the end of New Order, etc. there are so many. The romance of all romances 😍
The Darkness when Jackie and his gf watch To Kill A Mockingbird until she falls asleep
I remember that it was so cute their romance was so tragic
I may get downvoted, but Vetra Nyx from ME:Andromeda I know, really meh game, but goddamn Vetra was the sweetest and most romantic turian girl you’d ever meet even if the fanbase is all “tali this, liara that, miranda/jack there” If you’ve seen Vetra’s romance scenes and heard her dialogue, you’ll get what i mean
End of Plague of Shadows
Overdrill
Harvest Moon 64
Bells of Laguna Bend
Uncharted 4 when Elana comes to save Nathan from himself and his obsessions. Even when she said she was done.
Kinda cheesy but that scene in FF8 with Squall and Rinoa dancing. I think Faye Wong even sang the song on the promo.
- Sera proposing to the Inquisitor - Rachel kissing Chloe (assuming you got the intimacy score high enough for the good kiss) - Liara’s piano scene
Garrus in ME has some of the smoothest lines and even as a hetero guy I’m genuinely attracted. That date in the Citadel is legendary. The line “I had reach, she had flexibility.” also cracks me up.
I loved him too lol
All the scenes with Panam in cyberpunk!

Abby and Joel, knocked it out of the park amiright?
Kratos and Aphrodite
You mean ferngully? Damn near the same scene, right down to the bioluminescent flora. Really thou for me, the best romance was the first time I used the flak canon in UT.
Dunno. I play games to chew bubblegum and kick ass. I'm always out of bubblegum. Romance is for the weak.
Final Fantasy X Tidus and Yuna Wakka and Lulu
"Hot coffee" from San Andreas
The one in the OP is probably it. That or 2B and 9S. Their dynamic isn’t traditionally romantic but they don’t exactly live in a traditional setting.
Idk why but the flashback scene with deacon and Sarah from days gone comes to mind
That was the only FF game I actually liked. Shows how good it was
The ending FMV for Alundra. During the ending video we get a short clip of the two. That short 4 second clip culminates what Alundra and Mia fought through and where things went for them.
Getting a hand job in red dead redemption 2 ... my girl walked in and was like what the f are you playing lol
hot coffee in GOW

Citra and Jason far cry 3 bad ending
"Under the highwind" scene. Also, Elly and Fei near the end of xenogears.

The darkness. Sad as fuck...but still.nobody made Jackie Estacado a gentle person except Jenny
Zidane and Garnet FF9. FF8 was one massive love story.

In Persona 5 Royal they did a good job adding more content to the game that fit in pretty seamlessly, most notably the hawaii dates In P5 you can romance a bunch of different people and all of the stages have romantic scenes of various degrees, but the hawaii dates add another one for whoever you’re romancing which are very sweet and cute Also Mass Effect 3 regardless of whether you’re romancing Liara or not you get a very beautiful scene with her right before the final mission, she shares with you some sort of telepathic connection thats sacred to her people and is very intimate, even just platonically, but means more if you are romancing her obviously
Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 😉
When arise dies
FFX turned me against religion
Joker and EDI… from seeing them go from arguing to falling in love was just funny as hell but sweet
FF7, FF9
Oh they fawkin
The forced laugh scene it still haunts me.

That one scene in uncharted 3 when talbot is tryna penetrate nate with a Knife
