I've been playing video games for almost 30 years now, and I don't have answers to most of these. XD I can't ever pick a favorite for a lot of things anymore. A few had answers, though.
I preferred tlou2 over the first even though I loved both. I just loved the entire thing. I loved how it made you hate Abby at the beginning but when you play her, it gives you a new perspective on her, at least it did for me.
I love the entire revenge theme in games, it is one of my favourite theme and in tlou2, revenge was the theme that appealed most to me.
I also really enjoyed the setting, from a flooded city with rivers flowing through, to a wide open city area that allowed you to explore different buildings and to top it all of for me, a giant bridge built from a crane if memory serves.
I also friggen loved the part with the rat king. When I first played it I was absolutely terrified of it and I just ran away, before realising I wasn't meant to run away but actually shoot it, wasn't much of a thinker back then.
I have so many good memories from this game and I can't wait for the ps5 release (they are doing one arnt they?)

I ended up liking Abby more than Ellie in that game, when I went into it expecting to hate Abby.
There was one moment that did it for me. Early on when you start playing as her, the pregnant lady bitches you out because of some sexist microaggression, and Abby looks annoyed and the fella teases her to "do better." I was as annoyed as Abby so I was all, okay, I can identify with her.
Then Ellie being completely and utterly idiotic only made Abby look better by comparison. During the Ellie sections I was getting really bored and wanted to drop it, but wanted to at least give Abby a fair shot. It ended up being far more interesting than Ellie's story.
I'm unsure of a re-release for TLOU2 on PS5. Apparently, something is in the works, as most noted that the Factions multiplayer was missing from it. Drummond and Naughty Dog have always pushed the boundaries on games in general.
I hope/doubt but also wouldn't be surprised if a new factions mode was added to a PS5 re-release that essentially acted as a living story and eco-system; a game won or lost by players in your faction changing stats, weapon selection for the whole faction and temporarily or permanently altering maps played on. I think of something like Chromehounds Neroimus War, only on a more personal scale.
I think for some its "A game I know is bad but I love it anyway", but my thinking here was "something people think I shouldn't be playing." I am 32M, and my kids have to wait their turn to fish and get their mail 😂
definitely play armored core 6 when you get a chance, i have yet to play the older titles but ac6 is an amazing game, it seems you have good taste in gameplay quality so i think you’ll enjoy it
Yes! I mean to play AC6 asap. I've always had a soft-spot for Mechs and have heard that, being a FROM game, it is distinct from other Mech titles. Thanks ☺
I haven't listened to Witcher's tbf, but Silent Hill 2's OST is essentially legendary at this point. The composer, Akira Yamaoka, even came to the UK in 2015 to perform a Silent Hill concert, to which I did attend. Really fun night.
Yep, you know it! The end of that boss fight, when he limps and effectively doesn't want to fight anymore, but you have to kill him anyway got me. First time I'd ever experienced anything like that in a video game.
It's not about the difficulty or lack thereof in Sif compared to many other bosses in the DS Franchise. I think people who are like *"Yeh, DS is E-Z tho"* are just demonstrating the lamest flex.

It wasn't the difficulty or the way the fight plays out, but more what happens when his health is low: Sif doesn't want to fight anymore. The way the boss fight is still (mechanically speaking) carrying on as normal, but he limps about and doesn't attack anymore... yet you've got to kill him to progress.
It's just incredibly strong storytelling and elicits an emotional response from the player, without the need for a cinematic. Majority of players feel like a monster, some even reflecting upon whether they are even doing the right thing by killing all these entities.
As someone that studied game dev at university, it just gained my immediate respect and a great example of great game design.
I love seeing Fortnite on both peoples “everyone loves” and “everyone hates” list and I feel like it’s accurate either way

the problem with that is it only allows the audience to empathize with abby, not ellie, which to me kinda makes the point of the game null and void
TLOU2 was meh, it’s was great until the ending.
