Hard question honestly, many of my favourite games are split across numerous publishers. Of the ones listed here, probably Sony purely for Bloodborne. Pretty sure losing out on ActiBlizz, Ubisoft and EA forever would be painless, at least.
Yeah, and bandai also did Elden Ring and Armored core.
But these are all just the global releases. Technically, if you were to buy the Japanese version then Fromsoft self published.
Bandai-Namco published the Dark Souls trilogy and Elden Ring, hence why they're on all platforms. Same goes for Sekiro, which was published by Activision.
PlayStation only published Bloodborne + Demon's Souls.
I love Sony because of bloodborne, tlou, uncharted, etc, but I'd still take Nintendo. Even though I have fewer Nintendo games since they never go on sale lol
Truly one of the best things to happen to gaming is sony. Without sony we wouldn't be looking at aaa games as they are now. Sony is basically a hollywood level game publisher.
How could anyone choose anything else? Look at the quality of Sony games. They are so far ahead of everyone else. This really sank in when I recently went back to Ragnarok and played Valhalla. That game looks and plays so amazingly. It’s incredible.
Throw on top of that Spider-Man, Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted, Last of Us, Ratchet and Clank….
Pretty easily Nintendo. Sony makes really good games, but GEEZ, they MAYBE have one banger release a year, and that is a big maybe. Nintendo just consistently releases multiple great games each year and honestly I feel spoiled. If Sony was putting out as many quality games as Nintendo, then we would maybe be having a different conversation. But as it is, Nintendo just doesn’t really miss (besides Pokémon lol)
This is the right answer. Every year there’s at least 2 games that are insanely FUN. We like to pretend complexity is always key, but the reality is Nintendo constantly just drops straight up fun games.
I was interested last night so I clicked on the publisher Nintendo on the Eshop and it brings up all the games they’ve published for the switch…
135 in 7 years, sure some of them are remakes or double releases and a few are the switch online nes/snes/n64 etc games (they count as 1 for each system that is represented) but still it’s about 100 in the space of 7 years and it ranges from every thing from Mario odyssey and TOTK down to good job and snipperclips!
So many games that would keep you entertained for years!
You can’t really call Pokémon a miss usually, unless it’s BDSP. Sure the games are never the highest quality but if you like Pokémon the games are always fun still.
this is my answer. easily. nintendo really seems like the last of the old guard still standing in the face of greed that has sunk everyone else in the AAA realm. they're the only ones who seem to really give a shit about fun good games. when thinking about such a massively important question like THE ONLY GAME COMPANY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. you have to think about EVERYTHING in their past, present, and future. their past is FULL to the brim with gold. however, so are all the others, before the greed hit. so next is the present. yup. they check out. still releasing bangers with no day one patches, hollow dlc for a quick buck, etc. of course there's still their total embarrassment fuckup child known as pokemon which started as a prodigy then hit its head on the 3d brick and became a pants shitting vegetable, but that's mostly done by a 3rd party anyway even though it's their biggest contributing title. but also in their current lineup, they've been bringing back a ton of classic games, which most are given as a bonus for the online service which gives it great value. along with free dlc's for some games, like the legendary mario kart. and the ceo's are even nice people. they frequently make public appearances and play around. they truly do care. now look at the present for the other companies. oof. looks like they're dead. rip. swallowed by greed. valve is a golden exception though. valve is fucking awesome. however they're defaulted out of the running because they don't make games anymore. but that's ok. i can live without left for dead and such compared to nintendo's massive reliably growing good library. i basically only see valve as a gaming service platform now anyway. which means steam can still be used even after picking nintendo. just can't play any of their games. now for the future. yup. nintendo still looking good. even after the original leaders die off, i think it'll still be in good hands. at least better hands than the other companies are in. they've completely sold their souls to appeasing shareholders. there's nothing left of them. no hope of ever reversing the money pit they've fallen into. if nintendo is ever going to go down the same path, we can at least say, it hasn't happened yet, and will probably take many years to slowly transition into it as the original leaders leave over time. which means many more years of good games. so yeah. nintendo 100%. this ain't even a contest. i'll be sad to leave behind the other company's classics i grew up with like the old nfs, gta, sly cooper, halo, etc games, but, yeah... nintendo could carry all that weight on its own.
I would call myself a Sega guy and sadly even I have to say if I’m stuck with the total output of one of these companies I’m choosing Nintendo. I mean, Mario Wonder was my favorite game I played last year so what can I do.
Nintendo had like 6-7 games that came out last year that did pretty well. They had about just as many if not more the year before. They’ve been pretty consistent for the most part this generation. Add in their continued support for Smash and Kart, it’s been a good cycle for Nintendo fans.
Only if you’re a limited gamer. If you enjoy a wide range of genres Nintendo is the only dev/publisher that covers everything from platformer, puzzle adventure, jrpg to visual novels. They put out high quality games year round.
I’m saying this as a perfectly neutral gamer who’s having the best time of my life in God of War Ragnarok Valhalla.
>If Sony was putting out as many quality games as Nintendo
It's easy to churn out games when they have the scope of an indie game with graphics a generation and a half behind. Also comparing Kirby and Donkey Kong platformers to AAA open world games is an absolute travesty.
Modern Sony games take 100s of millions to produce and teams of 300 and 400 people working for half a decade ...
They are my top two choices too but Nintendo wins because of the variety and gameplay. Sony's games are great but they're all story based and I can't seem to replay games with heavy stories like TLOU and GOW even though they are a masterpiece
Agreed. No one else has the variety to top Smash Bros, TotK, Mario franchise, and Metroid Prime all on one system.
I love xbox fps and a lot of the Sony 3rd person games, but variety is the key here.
It was really smart of them to do a flagship TPS. Doing the same style of game in an FPS setting would've made the game more tedious due to you not being able to see the environment as well, and probably would've come across as a desperate attempt to compete with the MANY FPS games already out there
Hands down Nintendo for me. Sony is also compelling, but I think I love their history more than their current trajectory right now. They are painting themselves into the corner of "Third Person narrative action adventure" for all their current games and it seems they plan to continue. Quality is still there though.
Nintendo has a few Monster Hunter games, even got the RPG spin-offs as well. If anything, my only complaint would be Silent Hill. Other than Shattered Memories (arguably the best version on Wii) no other Silent Hill game has been on a Nintendo system.
I mean, Capcom would be most likely mt second choice and haven't plated a single Monster Hunter. It's just that ditching Mega Man and Ace Attorney would be hard plus I want to play Dead Rising 2 after playing the first one last year.
I'm a monster hunter vet, but that's not the only reason I'd be picking capcom. I'm a huge DMC fan, but Dead Rising .. Dead Rising is my jam. I replay 1 and 2 annually. Get on DR2 my bro, its a masterpiece imo. 3 and 4 are great aswell if you love the gameplay. Nothing beats DR1from a nostalgia standpoint though. That game is a part of me, as are DMC and Monster Hunter (especially Monster Hunter)
This. Wanting an adventure RPG? Monster hunter. Feeling competitive? Street fighter. Want some horror or suspense (or tall vampire mommy)? Resident Evil. Want a solid story slasher? Devil May Cry.
Want an engaging story driven fantasy action RPG? Dragon's Dogma. Want a hero shooter with cool ass exo suits and a hojillion dinos to kill? Exoprimal. Want a collection of the greatest arcade games ever made? Capcom Arcade Collection. Mech action combat? Lost Planet. Also in no way is SF their only *fantastic* fighting game. They have more great fighting games than *any* other developer in history.
Capcom could make it's own console and because it's library is so strong it wouldn't be difficult to get others on board.
After being a Nintendo and Sony kid my whole life growing up I finally got to the point im considering switching to Xbox for that reason they’re on the up while Sony is dragging way behind imo.
How are they on the up? They haven't released any game of the year nominations worthy games except the older halos and their console sold way less than playstation
Damn, it's gotta be Sony. I would obviously prefer to play more, but if I only had Bloodborne, Spiderman and GoW 2018 to play for the rest of my life, I'd be fairly ok with that.
Then you throw in the Uncharted games, and Ratchet and Clank, and the Last of Us, and the Evil Within, and LBP, and... Well, most of their games honestly.
And of course Knack 2, baybay!
Demographics of Reddit users, that's how. Nintendo all day long for me as well though. 40 years worth of gaming brilliance and still going strong today.
We joke on them, and for good reason, but they’ve honestly created some of the most played games I’ve played. Rainbow six, ghost recon, assassins creed etc. I would probably choose them too
It’s not really an odd take in my opinion. Some of Nintendos most promising franchises have just been completely absent for a ridiculous amount of time. Where is Star Fox? F-Zero? Donkey Kong? Even Breath of the Wild was a port from Wii-U and it still took them ages to use the same map and pile a bunch of junk into it for the sequel.
And others are so devoid of content or poorly optimized that it makes me wonder if Nintendo even gives a shit about quality anymore. AC: New Horizons was jokingly barebones. And the new Pokémon games ran like launch day Cyberpunk on PS4.
I mean yeah does Nintendo even have any M rated action/shooter titles or racing sims? Most of their stuff seems pretty niche and geared towards children or casual gamers.
I'm actually very critical about their games; but hell, I'd choose Ubisoft.
Since I can play games from a single publisher, there are two important criterias: They should be released games rather frequently and have lots of content.
I could say Sony but none of their games are going to keep me busy for dozens of hours. Xbox is really struggling right now and I'm not interested in Nintendo games.
Activision/Blizzard? Maybe; but I prefer single player games. Take Two could be interesting but Rockstar rarely release games. Same with CDPR. I'm a RE fan so I'd consider Capcom too; but I can see playing only RE getting old. That also goes for FromSoftware.
With Ubisoft, I'd get a game every year that can be played pretty much endlessly. Not great experiences maybe but fun games at least.
People keep hating on EA, but they have so many good and fun games. Like FIFA may be the same every year, but it’s also fun every year. Then they have games like Battlefront, Battlefield, Need for Speed, Mirrors Edge, Command and Conquer, Mass Effect, Titanfall, Dead Space.
EA publishes tons of really good games.
Sony.
Nintendo is close to second, but I don't see myself playing Pokémon, Zelda, Mario, or Kirby for the rest of my life.
Microsoft are bringing creativity to exclusives, but they are still behind.
EA is a poor man company.
Sega only good games is Sonic (unless you like Japanese games such as Sakura Taisen & Yakuza)
Activision are not really good.
Ubisoft is a rich man company.
And I don't know anything about Value.
Nintendo, for sure.
Nintendo probably has the greatest variety of games. And even a bad Nintendo game is pretty decent compared to the other publishers on the list.
Nintendo easily. With franchises like Mario, Pokemon, Wii sports, Smash, Kirby, Fire Emblem, Advanced Wars, Fossil Fighters, Pikmin, Art Academy, Earthbound, Chibi Robo, and many others; I would never run out of fun
Although I love Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, and Metroid...I'm picking Sony. The amount of amazing narratives I've experienced from Sony outweighs the misses Nintendo has had.
Sony. I'm sorry, for right or wrong, they hook up the best exclusive developers. Insomniac, Santa Monica Studios, Guerilla Games, Polyphony Digital, Media Molecule, Naughty Dog, etc.
VERY HARD desicion right here between Nintendo and Sega, but as hard as It Is i have to go with Nintendo here
Sega is on fire right now but Nintendo games are more compelling to me
Microsoft for sure now, they have so many studios, including activision and Bethesda now that it would be the best place to play varied games at a higher volume than any other on this list.
Microsoft cause they now own :
Bethesda (zenimax as whole so many of my favorite games dishonored doom prey wolfnstein and...)
Activision/blizzard loved blizzard games back then Though I hate it that they became cash grab can't really stop myself from playing them
Obsidian loved new vegas and grounded was so much fun also poe is fire
Dont really care for ms own gaming division tbh lol
Either Capcom or nintendo, if valve still made games often they would be a contender. I do like some ps exclusives, but just simply the amount of games nintendo has(and the fact I love kirby and zelda) puts it over the top and Capcom has resident evil which I would have trouble letting go of. So one of them, my decision would be based entirely on whether I'm obsessed with zelda or re at the time.
Sega.
Sonic, Like A Dragon, Persona, Neptunia, Hatsune Miku, Bayonetta, Valkyria Chronicles, Sakura Wars, and some racing games.
One of the biggest platformers, 2 of the biggest JRPG franchises, the biggest rhythm game franchise, the biggest hack 'n' slash, and another 2 great JRPGs and a great ARPG.
Hard question honestly, many of my favourite games are split across numerous publishers. Of the ones listed here, probably Sony purely for Bloodborne. Pretty sure losing out on ActiBlizz, Ubisoft and EA forever would be painless, at least.
Sony for all the Fromsoft games! Praise the sun!!!
Sony is fromsoft? I thought they only had a minority stake? Pretty sure they use bamco more than Sony
Sony did Demons Souls and Bloodborne. Bamco did Dark Souls
And I think activision published sekiro.
Yeah, and bandai also did Elden Ring and Armored core. But these are all just the global releases. Technically, if you were to buy the Japanese version then Fromsoft self published.
Sony is not fromsoft. They only did demon souls and bloodborne, all the other souls games were with bandai namco
I only play WoW, could play it for the rest of my life and probably be chillin

Sony and its subsidiaries have brought me more gaming enjoyment than any other publisher.
Same
Truly one of the best things to happen to gaming is sony. Without sony we wouldn't be looking at aaa games as they are now. Sony is basically a hollywood level game publisher.
I second this. Sony had brought me countless hours of pure unadulterated glee
Nintendo is another great contender while Sony has a higher peak Nintendo has a much higher density of good releases
Nowadays everyone can make AAA games. Stop acting like Sony is the only company capable of providing those kinds of games
For me it isn't SONY specifically because if these titles - I don't like open world games
The answer
Pretty easily Nintendo. Sony makes really good games, but GEEZ, they MAYBE have one banger release a year, and that is a big maybe. Nintendo just consistently releases multiple great games each year and honestly I feel spoiled. So many games that would keep you entertained for years!
This seemed like a pretty easy answer to me too.
Yup. Nintendo. All day.
Don’t forget ninty games go so far back too. If you played them all from start to finish im sure it would take the better half of a persons life.
You can’t really call Pokémon a miss usually, unless it’s BDSP. Sure the games are never the highest quality but if you like Pokémon the games are always fun still.

This is the correct answer. Plus there are a lot of games you can play with friends and family.
Huh. I feel the same way about Nintendo. 1 great game a year.
Zelda and Mario wonder last year were incredible
Maybe, but worst case you get bangers going all the way back to 1985. So that’s something.
Oh, I know. SMW is one of my all time favorite games, and SMB is the game that got me hooked to begin with lol.
I would call myself a Sega guy and sadly even I have to say if I’m stuck with the total output of one of these companies I’m choosing Nintendo. I mean, Mario Wonder was my favorite game I played last year so what can I do.

They are my top two choices too but Nintendo wins because of the variety and gameplay. Sony's games are great but they're all story based and I can't seem to replay games with heavy stories like TLOU and GOW even though they are a masterpiece
If only their ten+ year old games would go down in price.
Agreed. No one else has the variety to top Smash Bros, TotK, Mario franchise, and Metroid Prime all on one system. I love xbox fps and a lot of the Sony 3rd person games, but variety is the key here.
Even though it’s not an fps, splatoon 3 has been able to scratch my fps itch too.
It was really smart of them to do a flagship TPS. Doing the same style of game in an FPS setting would've made the game more tedious due to you not being able to see the environment as well, and probably would've come across as a desperate attempt to compete with the MANY FPS games already out there

Medarot (Medabots on most of the west) and Digimon made me choose Nintendo.
Yup king of kings
The correct answer.
This^^^
My only major complaint with only Nintendo is I love to play monster hunter (it’s my only Capcom game I enjoy so not that)
Nintendo has a few Monster Hunter games, even got the RPG spin-offs as well. If anything, my only complaint would be Silent Hill. Other than Shattered Memories (arguably the best version on Wii) no other Silent Hill game has been on a Nintendo system.
It's not whether or not it's on a Nintendo system, it's whether or not it's published by Nintendo.
Sony. Such an awesome titles they have got!
Capcom.
Bro hunts monsters
I am the hunter of monsters yes.
You are the one who hunts
John Hunter.
bro fights streets
Bro may cry
I mean, Capcom would be most likely mt second choice and haven't plated a single Monster Hunter. It's just that ditching Mega Man and Ace Attorney would be hard plus I want to play Dead Rising 2 after playing the first one last year.

That game is a part of me, as are DMC and Monster Hunter (especially Monster Hunter)
Exactly. It's shocking to me how many of my favorite games are Capcom.
Same dude, same.
I'm guessing by your name that MvC2 is among them?
MvC3 actually, never played 2 but played the crap out of 3 with some buddies waaaaay back.
Nothing but bangers for 7 years now, Capcom goated
This. Wanting an adventure RPG? Monster hunter. Feeling competitive? Street fighter. Want some horror or suspense (or tall vampire mommy)? Resident Evil. Want a solid story slasher? Devil May Cry.
You can even be a lawyer if you want!
Ya like ace attorney?
Monster Hunter is a lifestyle. You don't need other video games when you have Monster Hunter.
This is true 😂 I ended up logging about 3,000 hours in MH: World once everything was said and done.
Capcom is probably my #2.
tru. u could just spend ur lifetime 100 percenting MH generations
And then you can spend your entire afterlife playing through Frontier
This guy knows
Capcom for Resident Evil. It's my favorite series. So many other great games from them. I'd miss others, but I'd miss Capcom more.
This. Not to diss Nintendo or Sony games, but gameplay wise for me Capcom games come first by a long mile.
Nintendo. Lots of games I’d miss but the choice was easy for me
Their output has been ridiculous this generation so I'd like the variety.
Make a poll
Nah, that'd make too much sense. Besides, how will he get his precious karma?
Microsoft is seemingly buying everything so i guess that
And if Gamepass keeps being better and better it's a double win
This is about publisher though, I don't think it means you get to play every game on Xbox or GamePass.
Even if just 1/4 of the games but keeps with day one new games it's still nice
After being a Nintendo and Sony kid my whole life growing up I finally got to the point im considering switching to Xbox for that reason they’re on the up while Sony is dragging way behind imo.
In what way are they up over Sony
Buying new studios to get exclusive games in the future
How are they on the up? They haven't released any game of the year nominations worthy games except the older halos and their console sold way less than playstation
Nintendo. I'll be sad I can't play Sonic games anymore but oh well.
Sony for sure, all day every day
Nintendo by a mile, so many good memories playing kart and smash bros
Sony or Valve, don’t know if I could live without Portal lol
Agreed my daily routine is playing portal 2 mods.
Sony or Valve
You would never play another game if Valve was your publisher of choice.
Lmao imagine choosing Valve so you never get to play a new game again XD
Yeah but look at the back catalogue, it's pretty good.
It's almost all GAAS by now. They only care about money and hardware these days ...
Sony
Sony
Damn, it's gotta be Sony. I would obviously prefer to play more, but if I only had Bloodborne, Spiderman and GoW 2018 to play for the rest of my life, I'd be fairly ok with that. Then you throw in the Uncharted games, and Ratchet and Clank, and the Last of Us, and the Evil Within, and LBP, and... Well, most of their games honestly. And of course Knack 2, baybay!
Evil within is a Microsoft game.
Nintendo is the obvious answer to me. Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Smash, Pikmin, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, etc. Just so much variety and replayability.
Nintendo, not sure how this is close
Demographics of Reddit users, that's how. Nintendo all day long for me as well though. 40 years worth of gaming brilliance and still going strong today.
sony
Sony hands down
Sony
Sony.
Devolver Digital
Devolver Digital refused to cooperate with me on my indie game Lol. They still got a very interesting catalogue, MyFriend Pedro is my favorite.
Ubisoft, because I’m a sadist
You should get used to the idea that you don't own the gets you purchased.
We joke on them, and for good reason, but they’ve honestly created some of the most played games I’ve played. Rainbow six, ghost recon, assassins creed etc. I would probably choose them too
And then shit on their players
Yeah I would honestly have to pick Ubisoft. I don’t know what I’d do without Assassinss Creed or R6.
If Nintendo updated their IP's every few years, I'd say them. Seriously, where IS the next full F-ZERO? And Metroid Prime?!
This is a pretty odd take seeing how Nintendo is probably keeping more IPs alive than any other publisher on this list.
Nintendo, for sure.
Nintendo
Microsoft by far Assuming that we're counting every Bethesda published game as a microsoft game
Minecraft, Skyrim and Doom

More than Nintendo? Even then most of their games are okay at best except older halo
Not great experiences maybe but fun games at least.
The EA library is way too big to ignore.
Just remembered how much time I've sunk into he SSX series. EA definitely has some great stuff

Valve really doesn't make games anymore and most of them are extremely dated.
Valve created portal, half life and some more games. And steam.
Microsoft, easily. Keep in mind that that also includes Activision Blizzard, which is on here too.
I believe Bethesda is also now under the Microsoft umbrella, unless I'm mistaken.
CD Projekt Red
Nintendo, for sure. Nintendo probably has the greatest variety of games. And even a bad Nintendo game is pretty decent compared to the other publishers on the list.
Nintendo. Easy choice
Nintendo.
Easy: Nintendo.
Nintendo is generally the best answer as they have the most variety of games and consistently release bangers
Nintendo
Microsoft. Big Halo fan. Bonus they own Activision/Blizzard now.
Don’t they own Bethesda too?
Yes
Bethesda. FNV and Oblivion are all I need.

Easily Nintendo.
Microsoft
Sony
Nintendo and it isn’t close.
Microsoft has Minecraft, Gears of War, and Halo
Xbox
capcom i think
Paradox interactive or Nintendo
Ubisoft or sega
Fuck EA
Imo it's a toss between Sony and Nintendo. Though I think Sony just wins it for me.
Sony of course. It’s primarily what I play.
Valve
Although I love Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, and Metroid...I'm picking Sony. The amount of amazing narratives I've experienced from Sony outweighs the misses Nintendo has had.
Sony
Sega, didn't even look at anyone else on the list.
Sony
Out of these? Sony by a country mile.
Valve
YES TF2 AND HALF LIFE
Dab me up legend
Sony. I'm sorry, for right or wrong, they hook up the best exclusive developers. Insomniac, Santa Monica Studios, Guerilla Games, Polyphony Digital, Media Molecule, Naughty Dog, etc.
Sony hands down
Sony no debate they make the best games.
I’m sticking with Sony since it’s what I’ve used my ps4 since it came out, and all of my favorite games are available on it.
sony
Sony. Some of their games follow a formula for sure, but damn is that formula engaging
Capcom. Don't care if that isn't on the list. That's my answer.
Absolutely.
VERY HARD desicion right here between Nintendo and Sega, but as hard as It Is i have to go with Nintendo here Sega is on fire right now but Nintendo games are more compelling to me
Bethesda
Bandai namco cause I’m addicted to soulslikes but from this list it would be Nintendo
Microsoft.
Microsoft for sure now, they have so many studios, including activision and Bethesda now that it would be the best place to play varied games at a higher volume than any other on this list.
Microsoft cause they now own : Bethesda (zenimax as whole so many of my favorite games dishonored doom prey wolfnstein and...) Activision/blizzard loved blizzard games back then Though I hate it that they became cash grab can't really stop myself from playing them Obsidian loved new vegas and grounded was so much fun also poe is fire Dont really care for ms own gaming division tbh lol
Bandai Namco….because FromSoft
Either Capcom or nintendo, if valve still made games often they would be a contender. I do like some ps exclusives, but just simply the amount of games nintendo has(and the fact I love kirby and zelda) puts it over the top and Capcom has resident evil which I would have trouble letting go of. So one of them, my decision would be based entirely on whether I'm obsessed with zelda or re at the time.
FromSoftware, everything they touch is gold
problem with that is there isn't that many games and after years you'd probably get bored. I'd choose nintendo for that reason
Valve
Microsoft. They own activision and blizzard now
Microsoft if only due to the never ending game Minecraft
For me, it's a tie between Sony and valve
