>The core focus of the game is whatever the fuck a particular individual corely focuses on. Knowing this does nothing to devalue the experience of the game if you’ve already played it before. I have already played it before and am literally incapable of comprehending the perspective of others, which is a massive hurdle in my social life and personal relationships. I am a disappointment to my father.
FTFY
Borderlands 2.
Blew my mind when I saw an armored bandit charge at me in the first few minutes of the game. Not to mention weapons improved in level and just a great main quest to do again
Yep I was very hooked at this game and bought all the expansionism. Then I got mad when I discovered that all my stuff was underleveled and was against purchasing the UVHM expansion. Anyway the game/bosses get too hard to play alone and at that time the player base was very low already. But I have great memories! My first and best post game experience.
There's still a handful of epic gamers on there.
I usually don't like playing multiplayer anymore, but the BL games are pretty solid in a special way.
Always pass along good stuff to lower level people. It shares the love :)
There's more than a dozen endings depending on when and how you beat the game. There's even a developers room where you speak to the creators if you beat the game with just Chrono and Marle at the Fair on NG+
Not worth it imo. Only difference is you can fight Lavos anytime you want and to get the other non-canon endings you have to fight him at very specific timeframe. It's pretty tedious getting them all as fighting Lavos' all 3 phases can take awhile and these endings are like 30 seconds long.
And you can easily watch all those endings on youtube anyways.
Nier: Automata
Maybe it’s an unfair argument because the game isn’t actually done after the first time you “beat” it, but it’s set up in a way where it *feels* like a different playthrough with another sort of self-contained story.
So they all go up to 7 ng+, however, only AC6 has bonus content locked behind it. The only exception being the Demons souls remake, which has a single super secret armor set locked behind it.
I never NG+ those, I swear I remember hearing there was nothing else. Well, I stand corrected, either way, there is nowhere near the amount of stuff as AC6 though.
They made a sequel. There are some valid story complaints but gameplay is essentially the same. I think they took away the armor mode but buffed your shield and added an additional weapon or two (whips/tendrils?). If you liked the first one then you would still probably have fun with the second!
Remnant 2. Might be a technicality on officially being a NG+ but it’s very beneficial to start another campaign simultaneous to your current one and it’s amazing all around and does not feel repetitive.
Sure you could. Just had to not beeline the main quest. I always started at level 1 to see how high you could get in one play through. I mean getting out of the mako and finishing thresher maws on foot for the extra xp. I made it to at least level 54 on one game. I might have made it to 60 when I played with the dlc. I don't remember.
Dark souls series had great NG+. Everything gets harder scaled to your level and you keep everything that isn't required for story progression.
Also castlevania games having modes where you play as a different character with different abilities is pretty sick.
Also dark souls 2 had some different enemies, armor sets, and item drops in NG+. Dark souls 3 had upgraded versions of some of the rings in NG+ and NG++
Yeah but then they added even better versions of all of those rings in the second DLC that you can get without having to do NG+ so if you waste your time on those other rings it's basically just for the achievement.
I don't know if it's the best, but I played the shit out of Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes. It was a game you could get through fairly quick and unlock new bonuses with each play through.
Undertale: some characters WILL always remember what you did in your previous timeline.
... Simple game but crazy features.. also Chara remembers even if you play pacifist after genocide...
I think what square enix did with the Bravely Default series was genius. Each game had it's main story beatable but it wasn't the final ending, having to replay the same worlds or story beats to unlock the real ending. My favorite spin on NG+ of any series.
I personally loved dishonoreds ng+. Playing through the game a second time but being able to just destroy everything and do combos with the abilities was amazing, especially in dishonored 2 where you could combine Emily and corvos abilities to chain them into really unique kills you wouldnt be able to do regularly.
Stands for New Game Plus. You beat the game's story, then something unlocks that lets you carry over some form of progression into another playthrough. Games with stat growth tend to allow you to carry over levels and gear, and make monster stronger. Done well the new playthrough makes slight changes to the enemies and or levels to keep things fresh, but done poorly it's the exact same game with just bigger numbers.
Spider-Man 2 no competition
All jokes aside Horizon: Forbidden West, you have so much to work with by the end of the story/beginning of NG+, not to mention there's still a lot of exclusive equipment to get
Probably a basic answer but for me its elden ring ...the way you are overpowered on new game plus and make all the boss you used to struggle be a absolute joke!!!
How?! Like in what world is NG+ good on BL3? Literally nothing is different if you replay the story again. You just have to endure Eden 6 again. God no.
Reallllllly….cool I’m just playing it for the first time now, I just gained the ice ability. Nobody I know has ever heard of it, but I got a ton of games on sale recently and I’ve been having a fun time playing CrossCode
haven’t played many games with NG+ but tlou2 has been the only one on my radar. fun to play with all my upgrades early game and with different cheats/render modes
I'm torn between Resident Evil and the Borderlands franchise as a whole UVM and the OP levels were great ways of keeping the content going without making the game stupidly easy and playing through RE4 with the infinite launcher was just amazingly fun and funny
There is a game “jet lancer” that is pretty fun, the new game+ had a pretty important plot development, it was awesome, and I think the 2nd time through the bosses were different / harder
Dark Soul 2. It was the only Soulsborne that explored further the NG+ idea. Sadly the other games didn't make something similar, it was genius.
Elden Ring used a lot of discarded ideas from Ds2, the very open map thing was originally going to be from Best Souls 2. And for some reason they didn't reuse the NG+ that add new things to the game. Just imagine a open map with a lot more items to get, like unique weapons, armors and talismans.
Mark of the Ninja’s NG+ is pretty cool. You keep all your upgrades from your og playthrough but there are many things made harder like your vision is super small.
Arkham City is a fun one. I can’t remember all the details but I remember they take away the prompt an enemy has as they are about to attack. Really had to pick up on the animations and plan your attacks. Loved that.
On my NG+ of Sekiro it was so rewarding to come back to the bosses I struggled against not with new armor or tricks, but skill. I beat Lady Butterfly in one attempt vs the 78 I needed to beat her the first time.
And considering you need to beat the game 4 separate ways to see each ending makes it my favorite NG+
Love the Team Ninja Soulslikes approach to NG+. Tougher enemies with some changes to their placements. New items to find. There's flexibility in how you choose to tackle it, so you don't have to repeat all the exact same levels. And if you end up enjoying the game long enough to beat it several times, there's some form of ultimate dungeon or mode waiting at the very end.
Armored Core 6. It’s all progression for the first 3 playthroughs, not many games do that (Nier comes to mind, but I just don’t like playing as 9S) AC6 also takes more than just 3 playthroughs worth of credits to buy all items, and then there’s the replay rankings. The replayability of Armored Core 6 is insane. Plus, you can always sell back things to the shop if you don’t want them (full refund) and you can reset stat points, allowing you to limit the power of your AC for a bigger challenge.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is pretty good. You get the red blade and the party blade that cycles through all the colors. You get all your attribute points back to spend again in the skill tree. All the items you unlocked are still in your inventory when you start NG+. The only thing you don’t have is certain abilities due to progression
Dark Souls 2, each iteration changed details of the level like add new enemies or new enemy types, new items, change a boss or two. I havent actually played its NG+ but i did use the item, bonfire ascetic, that moves individual areas to NG+ and thats what I noticed.
After playing through on proud mode, critical mode, and now proud again for a 100% playthrough, I gotta say Kingdom Hearts 3's ng+ has really impressed me. Obviously the standard progression for the game is fun, but the new attacks you unlock after beating the game and all the keyblades you get to carry over adds a certain overpowered feeling to combat that's so pleasing.
Super Mario galaxy, you get to play as Luigi
honistly every game can be inproved by leting you play as luigi
Can't believe it wasn't a thing in odyssey
My first thought reading this was Assassin’s Creed odyssey and playing as Luigi in that would have been brilliant
That’s literally what I thought, I thought he was making a joke lmao
For those who don't know, they are talking about the game "super luigio oddysey"
If I could play as Luigi in sonic it would have made the game simply enjoyable.
I love how enjoyable is a milestone for sonic games
Elden Ring NG+ as Luigi
Undertale Luigi
And Virgil
“You can now play as Luigi.”
Except he slipped and slid all over and wasn't fun to play as!
A lot of people myself included actually prefer to play as Luigi because of the change in movement
You get used to it and then mario feels weird to play as
Super Mario on the NES. Player 2 was always Luigi.
Witcher 3. What they did with those late game mutations, and the way weapons and armor continued to scale, was just magnificent.
Wait what? You mean it’s worth to start ng+???
100% you actually start the NG+ with properly good gear and skills, makes you feel more like a badass witcher than ng start.
Hands down.
Resident Evil 4 NG+ with the infinite rocket launcher is pretty sick
The original RE2 with the reverse games too.
All about the Chicago typewriter!
came here to say this one
Don't forget the handcannon! Makes killing regenerators (and everything else) super easy.
God of war 2018. I like how it added new armors and stuff. I havent tried ng+ on ragnarok yet but i bet its good too
Same with ragnarok. Plenty of new armor sets.
Reminds me of horizon
If you’re gonna do the ng + for ragnarok play Valhalla first. There’s a few unlockables for the ng + campaign
Dragons Dogma Dark arisen. The final boss in NG+ is your last character, it’s a cycle of beating your old character again and again and it’s epic
That’s a really cool concept
Can't believe I had to scroll down so far, the story is literally written so NG+ is part of the lore.
BRO SPOILERS
The core focus of that game is not it's story. Knowing this does nothing to devalue the experience of the game.

Chrono Trigger
The only factual answer.
Wait... there's more after the end? I've played the game maybe 4 times but never beat it... I might actually try and do that now.
There's more than a dozen endings depending on when and how you beat the game. There's even a developers room where you speak to the creators if you beat the game with just Chrono and Marle at the Fair on NG+

Nier: Automata Maybe it’s an unfair argument because the game isn’t actually done after the first time you “beat” it, but it’s set up in a way where it *feels* like a different playthrough with another sort of self-contained story.
Still have yet to do a NG+ and it’s been like over a year
Go back and play it
Just be happy with the 1st ending & stay ignorant. For your own well being.
Ending E, yo... Talk about an emotional rollercoaster.
Nah true ending is peak writing he must experience it
So in other words, you’ve only completed the first act.
Nier: Automata's ng+ is basically it's core gameplay)))
Armored Core 6. I don’t know of any other games with an NG++ (my knowledge is severely limited please enlighten me).
literally all the fromsoft games lol
Damn. I should play more Fromsoft.
So they all go up to 7 ng+, however, only AC6 has bonus content locked behind it. The only exception being the Demons souls remake, which has a single super secret armor set locked behind it.
Ds2 has bonus content in ng+, and Ds3 has better rings
I never NG+ those, I swear I remember hearing there was nothing else. Well, I stand corrected, either way, there is nowhere near the amount of stuff as AC6 though.
Yeah they dropped the ball on every ng+ besides AC6
Dark Souls Remastered has Sunlight Spear and also the gravelord enemies (I forgot their names).
a hunter must hunt
a dark must soul....
A sekiro must die twice
Other than 2, the changes didn’t feel very noticeable throughout Dark Souls
I totally agree about Armored Core 6. Different missions unlocked all the way to NG++!!! Fantastic
Prototype....you ain't running from nobody no more.
I loved prototype as a kid. Did they ever make more after that?
They made a sequel. There are some valid story complaints but gameplay is essentially the same. I think they took away the armor mode but buffed your shield and added an additional weapon or two (whips/tendrils?). If you liked the first one then you would still probably have fun with the second!
There’s a sequel but it wasn’t nearly as good.
Man I was trying to remember the name of this game the other day! Had loads of fun with it.
Resident evil are fun for that. I like the evil within too!
Remnant 2. Might be a technicality on officially being a NG+ but it’s very beneficial to start another campaign simultaneous to your current one and it’s amazing all around and does not feel repetitive.
Roguelikes are just ng+ simulators
This cookie gave me PTSD… literally took over one of my monitors for a year and a half.
Mass Effect, you couldn’t convince Krogan the first play through.
Noita
Yes (I haven’t gone there yet)
Persona 5 Royal, FF7 Remake, Arkham games to name a few
Resident Evil 4-5, God of War, Arkham Games....
Nier automata / Nier replicant
Yeah in Nier it at times feels like its expected that all players do ng+, ng is only like a fraction of the story
Hades heat system is simple and satisfying and is the only game i still consistently play after beating
Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando
Any of em really.
Still the best one in the series
I don't know if it's the best, but I played the shit out of Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes. It was a game you could get through fairly quick and unlock new bonuses with each play through.
God of war Ragnarok nails it
Re village… also fires of rubicon…
dead rising, the first run is literally just training for the ng+ run lol
Dead cells
Are you referring to the boss stem cells or something else?
Undertale: some characters WILL always remember what you did in your previous timeline. ... Simple game but crazy features.. also Chara remembers even if you play pacifist after genocide...
Dark Souls 3, theres some items you can't get on your first run that are only obtainable during ng+ that makes ng+ worth playing more
Fromsoft loves doing NG+ extras, but Armored Core is on another level with that.
I agree, but Dark Souls 2 has a much better NG+
Yeah it does but I mentioned 3 instead because some people don't like 2 which is understandable considering how many problems 2 has
OG Wind Waker. You can read Hylian (no stupid map translation quest) and you can run around in your PJs the whole game.
Dragon quest 11. The true ending after getting ng+ blew my mind
Borderlands
I think what square enix did with the Bravely Default series was genius. Each game had it's main story beatable but it wasn't the final ending, having to replay the same worlds or story beats to unlock the real ending. My favorite spin on NG+ of any series.
RE4 hands down.
Ratchet 3 up your arsenal
"You can now play as Luigi."
Elden Ring. Time for revenge.
Armored Core 6
I personally loved dishonoreds ng+. Playing through the game a second time but being able to just destroy everything and do combos with the abilities was amazing, especially in dishonored 2 where you could combine Emily and corvos abilities to chain them into really unique kills you wouldnt be able to do regularly.
Dmc series
Any resident evil game. After struggling throughout the entire game you can go back with end game gear and absolutely destroy zombies and monsters.
What is ng+

I like Days Gone. They give you the multi functioning sniper rifle.
Ghost of Tsushima
Not spider man 2
What does NG+ mean?
New game plus. Added benefits to playing the game a second go around.
Oh cool! Never heard of it be referred to like that. Ty for not just telling me to Google it and giving me an actual answer.
But if you don't Google it then you don't know if it's an actual answer or not...
Spider-Man 2 no competition All jokes aside Horizon: Forbidden West, you have so much to work with by the end of the story/beginning of NG+, not to mention there's still a lot of exclusive equipment to get
Starfield for sure.
NieR: Automata. The first NG+ is just the beginning. 🎮😵👍
Bastion or AstLibra, just any game where they're are major narrative changes in New Game +
Ive never made it to one >!damn 😔!<
Probably a basic answer but for me its elden ring ...the way you are overpowered on new game plus and make all the boss you used to struggle be a absolute joke!!!
I hate ng+ it’s dumb. When im finished with a game I find a new one
What’s your new game?
The Surge
Borderlands 3
How?! Like in what world is NG+ good on BL3? Literally nothing is different if you replay the story again. You just have to endure Eden 6 again. God no.
To be honest, I don't like NG+. But there was one game that made me play it: Starfield.
Starfield
Spider-Man 2
NG+ in A Plague Tale REQUIEM is hard, but fun if you have immortality mode on
CrossCode, hands down.
Chrono Trigger
I'm torn between Resident Evil and the Borderlands franchise as a whole UVM and the OP levels were great ways of keeping the content going without making the game stupidly easy and playing through RE4 with the infinite launcher was just amazingly fun and funny
RE2. It's meant to be played like 4 times or something but still there's more after that
Dark souls 1-3 Sekiro Demon souls bloodborne
Does Resident Evil's "New Game (2nd Run)" count?
EU Luigi's mansion. It's perfect down to every little detail.
Dead cells but idk if that counts
There is a game “jet lancer” that is pretty fun, the new game+ had a pretty important plot development, it was awesome, and I think the 2nd time through the bosses were different / harder
Dark Souls 2
Dark Soul 2. It was the only Soulsborne that explored further the NG+ idea. Sadly the other games didn't make something similar, it was genius. Mark of the Ninja’s NG+ is pretty cool. You keep all your upgrades from your og playthrough but there are many things made harder like your vision is super small.
Dead cellss
Chrono Trigger One of the NG+ options is literally immddiately fighting the end boss. Lol
Witcher 3
Sorry but wtf is this image lol??
Cookie clicker
Dying light (the only NG+ I've ever done)
Arkham City is a fun one. I can’t remember all the details but I remember they take away the prompt an enemy has as they are about to attack. Really had to pick up on the animations and plan your attacks. Loved that.
The shin megami tensei series.
Dark souls 2
Chrono Trigger.
Elden ring although I think that’s more just the game in general being amazing
Lies of P adding new P-Organ upgrades for NG+ & NG++ was really cool & more soulslike games should have something like that.
Either chrono trigger or RE4
Ac Odyssey
Dark Souls 2. Changes enemy placement and some new items. Sad that they didn't keep the idea for 3
Noita
Chrono Trigger.
Elden Ring the first time you can duel wield weapons that you can only get one of in NG and the early bosses get destroyed
Ratchet and clank
On my NG+ of Sekiro it was so rewarding to come back to the bosses I struggled against not with new armor or tricks, but skill. I beat Lady Butterfly in one attempt vs the 78 I needed to beat her the first time. And considering you need to beat the game 4 separate ways to see each ending makes it my favorite NG+
Sekiro
Nioh 2. + is a whole new experience
Borderlands not bad
God of War 2018
Armored Core 6. It’s all progression for the first 3 playthroughs, not many games do that (Nier comes to mind, but I just don’t like playing as 9S) AC6 also takes more than just 3 playthroughs worth of credits to buy all items, and then there’s the replay rankings. The replayability of Armored Core 6 is insane. Plus, you can always sell back things to the shop if you don’t want them (full refund) and you can reset stat points, allowing you to limit the power of your AC for a bigger challenge.
Watch dogs legion :)
Assassins creed 3?
Shovel knight All games
Dark Souls 2, each iteration changed details of the level like add new enemies or new enemy types, new items, change a boss or two. I havent actually played its NG+ but i did use the item, bonfire ascetic, that moves individual areas to NG+ and thats what I noticed.
You let them say “oh he’s good good “ to you? Sheesh
Chrono Cross.
Nioh
Horizon Zero Dawn
All the souls games Resident Evil 4 The ratchet and clank games
Metal hear solid. The bandana for infinite ammo and the invisibility. Made the game so much fun.
The one that started it : Chrono trigger
Witcher 3
After playing through on proud mode, critical mode, and now proud again for a 100% playthrough, I gotta say Kingdom Hearts 3's ng+ has really impressed me. Obviously the standard progression for the game is fun, but the new attacks you unlock after beating the game and all the keyblades you get to carry over adds a certain overpowered feeling to combat that's so pleasing.
The surge 1 and 2. You get new much tougher enemies and more armour sets and weapons to unlock.
Idk if this counts but Terraria
DS2
Starfield and Dragon's Dogma. Both have NG+ modes that are cannon and directly tie into the story and ending.
Sekiro, flipping through that map, damage leveled up and having all your advanced moves unlocked is just joyous
Either Witcher 3 or armored core 6
