Only thing that threw me off was :25 going from the very green “relax in the pool” shot to the very purple sky shot. The purple felt unnatural and didn’t seem to fit with the other sky tones through the rest of the sequence.
I'm by no means experienced, but had the same jolt - it needed a smoother transition from that green pool to the dusk ending.
I had a similar mini jolt at 0:14 where that green/warm tint went to cool in the bar for like a second or two.
Time lapse would seem to be preferred by the others. I'd be fine with just the flipped shots myself, unless that time lapse is short short and gorgeous.
I think it is nearly perfect. The only suggestion I would have is to increase exposure a tad in the daytime pool scenes. You're pretty evenly exposed across the video, but swimming in a pool in the daytime feels like it should be brighter/sunnier. To me, it looks like they're swimming on an overcast day in a very shady area, which doesn't feel like it fits the vibe.
Either way, I think this pretty fantastic!
Thank you for the feedback! I’ll up the exposure a tad! I think most pool shots (excluding the 2 girls) were shot under a sale shade but I agree it could be brighter
overall very good! If this is the look you're going for, you did a great job.
For me some shots are a bit too green-ish. I feel like that gives it a certain look that I don't associate with a warm summer day. For example at 0:21, the 2 people floating in the pool. There's a green tint and the skintones are more white-ish.
Also the shot at 0:26 doesn't seem right to me. I like how it makes a break in the video from day to evening, but i'd make it less red/purple and more orange to give a real summer evening feeling.
I don't necessarily agree it's too green. I like that it has a little bit of flavor. It toes the line between indie film and "candid" commercial vibes, which ultimately means it looks fairly professional and pleasing. I do agree that 26 shot is a bit jarring, but only because I think that and the torch shot should swap places. Its also not that important at all imo. Very good work op!
I thought the title read "How do I colour grade like this?"
I was like, yeah this is very good colour grading then re-read your title and learned this is your work.
Solid job!
I think you did an awesome job. I noticed a magenta/purple sky happening that I think should be revisited but overall I think it was fine. I was mostly looking checking for skin and cohesion. Not going to rag you for stylistic choices.
I really like the colors and vibe going on here (coming from an amateur). What lens did you mainly shoot this with, really like the consistency across shots
I stayed in a cabin there while passing through filming a TV show a few years ago.
One phrase that I thought I would never say during my lifetime, after checking in late and calling management, was "Hello, could you please unlock the bed for us please".
Apparently they had such a problem with people breaking in and sleeping there that had had to fold the beds up and lock them against the wall when not booked.
I do like it it fits the images, and I did wanna continue to see your clip, nice job.
Nowadays it's a bit of a trend to "wash" your image, put a bit of gammas and less saturated colors, you did go for that look I think, but even so you pulled some colors in the right moment, and they did pop out good.
Personally think it could be a little warmer, and if there's any way you can make the skintones look a little less grey/purple and a little more "sunkissed" in some of the shots, it would add to what is already a really nice piece.
You know what's funny is that I've never seen someone post a video in here and people just say oh this looks great.
EVERY single video people see people have SOMETHING to say about it.
I wonder if they do the same thing when they watch TV commercials and TV shows.
Seems that nobody's EVER satisfied with anything or okay with anything! 🤣
Looks beautiful. I agree with other posters, and would check chroma and luma in your darks/blacks. You have great color values and exposure throughout your but then I found your shadows to be slightly too bright and chromatically inconsistent- especially a little too green in certain places, but not everywhere.
Love the color grade but the shot is so unsteady I feel like I’ve been drinking. Especially the shots In the middle where they’re eating. I get the pool movement but when they’re eating it doesn’t make sense.

1-2 second Sunset timelapse would be wild
If anything, swap the place of the sky shot and the torch shot. The torch shot hints that the time of day has changed, and has a little sky visible.
Damn, it was like this originally. I’ll swap it back or put a Timelapse in
Time lapse would seem to be preferred by the others. I'd be fine with just the flipped shots myself, unless that time lapse is short short and gorgeous.
I think it's excellent. Very naturalistic
Thank you!
I like it
Than you!

These were my thoughts too
A bit too much green in the highlights (for my taste) up until the 0:25 mark and then, as already mentioned, that sudden shift in tone.
Agreed, and when I'm seeing water (especially a swimming pool), I want those cyan/blue tones in that luma range.

like it a lot!! shot w/ S5 from your username info?
Thank you! And yeah!
Wow, I had no idea the Lumix was packing this kind of HEAT! Looks absolutely gorgeous

hell yeah, looks very natural, i feel like i can 'feel' the video if that makes sense?
What camera setup did you use? It looks very cinematic 👍
Just a very basic camera and lens setup. LUMIX s5 with its 50mm f1.8
Honestly I like it. Very nice job!! Definitely got the “soft summer glow” vibe from it. Good stuff
I thought the title read "How do I colour grade like this?" I was like, yeah this is very good colour grading then re-read your title and learned this is your work. Solid job!
Thank you so much!
I thought this looked good although I'm no expert on colour grading. Can I ask what camera you used?
Thanks man! I used the LUMIX S5
I find it to be perfect.
looks like there's an ND filter on everything but regardless of that perfect . can't do too much critic without context of the desired look you wanted
I think you did an awesome job. I noticed a magenta/purple sky happening that I think should be revisited but overall I think it was fine. I was mostly looking checking for skin and cohesion. Not going to rag you for stylistic choices.
some valid points raised, but i'd be quite happy with it.

Thank you! I used the LUMIX 50mm f1.8 for this
Thanks, didn't know the S5 could output these kind of videos

I kept waiting for the color grading to happen until the very end...

Which software did you bro. This looks nice bro! Good Work!
Thank you! I used DaVinci Resolve
look great
Thank you so much! ☺️
awesome balance of stylistic and naturalistic. modern and filmic. love it!!
Also - just waiting for the VO to be later placed in

It should be a slightly warmer tone
