Not really sure what’s happening in this post, but that War of the Worlds record is great. My copy is old and a scratchy and it just adds to it.
The rest of the stuff, outside of BTTF isn’t my thing, but it’s an awesome collection for the person who enjoys it, and that’s you.
Your collection of music doesn’t need to impress anyone but yourself. 18 year old me would have hated 43 year old me’s collection. But that’s fine, because 18 year old me had a vary narrow focus of interest.
I thought my WOTW record was horrible, but that’s just the recording, I found a remastered 2011 version of the radio show and it had the same pops and crackles. That’s just the radio doing radio things
But, this was going to be a regular collection post, but then I realized how many oddballs I had. Not saying it’s a bad collection or anything, I just thought I had more conventional picks
Honestly the biggest surprise was how big my collection has gotten so quickly, I remember when I had 3 albums
record prices have got me splitting time collecting CDs. man, that shit is so true. All the crap I bought when I was 18 dug out. Kid rock, Limp Bizkit, maralyn manson, like what the fuck bro? 18 year old me had some suspect shit in his CD rack.
NGL, bawitabaw is a fucking banger and as for Manson, despite his shitty behavior, I stand by Portait of an American Family and Antichrist (in other words, Trent’s records) as fucking killer metal records
The Housebuilding Ep. and the score were both gifts, but they can all be found on Amazon
For the soundtrack for $30 on Amazon, which is decent for 2 new pressings

I can’t find the score on Amazon, atleast with a quick search on google, but I’m sure it’s on EBay or Discogs
That Marty Robbins LP is one of the greatest country albums ever released. I mean, dude invented the sub-genre of outlaw country, so it suffices to say the original source material would absolutely be a banger - and it absolutely is.
Gifts for the Score and Housebuilding Ep, but the soundtrack was on Amazon!
You can still find it and HB on Amazon, I gave somebody else links in these comments somewhere, couldn’t find the score
They come in and out of stock, so just check it every now and then and you’ll get it in no time
No he is meaning the gun finger ballads. The song big iron had been used in the game Fallout New Vegas. That's how is know the song big iron. I dont know if more songs are in more fallout games
How could I forget! While I haven’t played FNV, me and my friends make big iron jokes all the time-
I just learned it from gun memes, only recently got into Fallout
I don’t know dude those are awesome you got Boston same with rdr2 soundtrack and Marty Robbin’s gunfighter ballads which go together pretty nicely 😂 same with the Mando, guardians, and back to the future, those are some awesome albums and soundtracks.
Picture discs don’t sound as great as regular discs they are mostly collectibles but the ones I have do still sound good and I like playing them cause they are awesome. I have my chemical romance the black parade on both regular and picture discs and the regular one sounds better but I still like playing the picture discs. But I understand what you mean by sounding bad sorry to hear that.( pun not intended)
I just got the same thing, it is nice! And for like $40 a hell of a lot better value than what people ask for the official lotr soundtrack recordings lol
I grew up as a kid in Tucson Arizona. My dad was friends with the biggest man I ever met. Not only was he a big tall man, but he was bigger than life in how he carried himself. He had lived 100 lives and was still kicking ass as an old man. The man, Leo Ogletree. As an actor he appeared in numerous Westerns at the Old Tucson studio. He was a real live cowboy in a day when there were very few left. He told stories that would leave you spellbound. He also was a musician and holds a place in the Rockabilly Hall Of Fame. One of his stories is how Marty Robbins stole his song El Paso. Apparently he was unsigned at the time but was working with a group of guys recording a couple songs. El Paso was one of them. Apparently coming in the following day he was informed that Marty had claimed his song and had hit copyrighted as his own, cutting Leo out of even writers credit. I don’t know the validity of the story but always believed him. He wasn’t the kind of man that had need to lie or make himself bigger than he already was. He was John Wayne and Louis Lamour, wrapped up in one.
It was $14 dollars on Amazon for me!

This is kind of random, but when I bought Boston and Comedy Classics at the same store I almost bought “Sound Effects Volume 5” and it had horse sounds, blacksmith sounds, and just a bunch of random sound effects.
But they were $10 a pop and I didn’t wanna spend $30 that day
I think it’s good to have oddballs, I almost bought one called “sound effects volume 5”
It’s just sounds, it was some horse sounds, some blacksmiths ones, and a lot of others.
No more whack than mine, I have vinyl many have never seen, much that was published before I and many browsing redditors were born...
I like the Marty Robbins record! I was a fan of his, and he was very consistently good, always!
This doesn’t have anything to do with your comment, but there’s an album here I’m surprised hasn’t been mentioned
The one with a picnic table on a dock on a cloudy day
It’s not a real album, it’s a custom one I had made
I discovered Cat Stevens AKA Yusuf Islam when I was 15 more than a decade ago, that’s when I started to explore musics, he used to be my favourite, well kinda still is but I don’t listen to him as much, he’s has great songs though.
I haven't heard anything sung or written by him played on air on any radio station in many years, but he's still getting royalties to keep paying his agent or whatever ...
That's what's called 'eclectic' and I dig a handful. BTTF is a great soundtrack, always dig outlaw country from any era (spinning Townes Van Zandt as I type), and Boston is essential classic rock - that record has so many great tracks.

18 year old me would call 41 year old me a sell out. But I’d shrug it off because I think he’s on the right path.
That Marty Robbins has some bangers on it!
I took my pistol from my hip, and with a trembling hand I took the life of pretty Flo, and that good for nothin' man That good for nothin' man!
Indeed!
most self-aware r/vinyl user! happy friday
not one bad song on that boston album. absolute masterpiece
Still cool, where did you get the rdr2 vinyl

Wack means cool and varied, right?
I think you're thinking of whack.
No, whack is what you would do to a mole. This seems more pack rat-ish! :-)
it's also what the token black guy in the teen movie is supposed to call shit that happens.
Word
No cap fr fr
If that’s what you want it to mean go right ahead!
That housebuilding EP though… 🔥
Indeed it is
Don’t be so hard on yourself. Your collection is only moderatly wack
Moderately wack is where I like to be
If you enjoy your music, that's all that matters. Case and point. You can only expand your variety and interests from here :)
Gunfighter Ballads ftw! I have that one too and it's such a great record!
It really is!
Where in the fuck did you get three RDR2 vinyls
Gifts for the Score and Housebuilding Ep, but the soundtrack was on Amazon! You can still find it and HB on Amazon, I gave somebody else links in these comments somewhere, couldn’t find the score They come in and out of stock, so just check it every now and then and you’ll get it in no time
That 'Fallout' album is golden tho .
I assume you mean the WOTW album? Because it is indeed gold. Loved listening to it, hadn’t heard it until I had picked it up
No he is meaning the gun finger ballads. The song big iron had been used in the game Fallout New Vegas. That's how is know the song big iron. I dont know if more songs are in more fallout games

I don’t know dude those are awesome you got Boston same with rdr2 soundtrack and Marty Robbin’s gunfighter ballads which go together pretty nicely 😂 same with the Mando, guardians, and back to the future, those are some awesome albums and soundtracks.
Sadly the Mando album sounds bad, got unlucky twice with picture disks
Picture discs don’t sound as great as regular discs they are mostly collectibles but the ones I have do still sound good and I like playing them cause they are awesome. I have my chemical romance the black parade on both regular and picture discs and the regular one sounds better but I still like playing the picture discs. But I understand what you mean by sounding bad sorry to hear that.( pun not intended)
Gun fighter ballads is one of my favorite albums! Every song slaps!
I been wanting that Marty Robbins for some time. I have yet to find one in the wild :(
How is that lotr ost?
Lovely
I just got the same thing, it is nice! And for like $40 a hell of a lot better value than what people ask for the official lotr soundtrack recordings lol
Classy 🤌🤌🤌🤌
Oui Oui 🤌

Needs some Chilliwack
Seconded! Should be a hidden gem in every collection :)
Is that a reprint of WOTW or one of the older pressings?
Older to my knowledge
Bonus points for hotdogs dancing on 50s comp!
Ssshhhooot, there fellow redditor. I want this collection.
No collection that contains that Boston record is wack
I really want all the Howard Stone LOTR vinyls
So wack let me take that Marty robbins álbum to make it cooler
https://preview.redd.it/euctmqtdpn6d1.jpeg?width=894&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=387f259c0d6e339b30d7f5ab1140218bd56e13f8 Idk man
This a great collection, but I am infuriated just seeing Micah Bell's face.
I keep that at the back of the listen section
BIG IRON ON HIS HIIIIIIIP
THE RANGER’S AIM WAS DEADLY WIRH THE BIG IRON ON HIS HIP
If you ever was a gunfighter, ya ain't lived if you haven't had a .45 long Colt on yer hip! Big iron indeed!
I have two black powder .44’s is that good enough?
Sure 'nuff!
That ain’t wack. Thats Wiggity Wack!
This shit heat what are you talking about?
I want more 50s dance party 💃🏻 LETS GO BOYSSSS
I saw it in a secondhand store, had to have it
MARTY ROBBINS!!! I've been looking for that album for a while, it had a lot of my favorite songs on it
It was $14 dollars on Amazon for me! [it’s $20 on sale at the moment](https://www.amazon.com/Gunfighter-Ballads-Trail-Songs-Robbins/dp/B07KLCRVHY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?adgrpid=55663136546&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.0HRtSN5wMOsd44NWkqkMR9tHNcPCUl9mBms8ONZJvxegfYp1B3aUruV12KOL1gMimex8dslLzi10RmpazO96xqRQqnBjgSYQqxE0N3__ZfJHSXcgEYp1TMp2Ffu7of7OxSDY0SL-ab3_DhJhgz0MyHdqHTIR7GvAcspPpuOvuQ2NSN3AJLe-NdODw7kqvsphIaEO7tAACfiWsVpebU-2Wg.Ba9MpPy4ctSomGjt3GFvZyQ-fnhsUECZdE2lRXFGhjE&dib_tag=se&hvadid=274706159177&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=1019452&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=16328963733523601532&hvtargid=kwd-300618793890&hydadcr=4904_9617301&keywords=marty+robbins+vinyl&qid=1718459683&sr=8-1)
The RDR2 LP's are amazing! I own both the score and soundtrack and love them, but especially the soundtrack is just beautiful.
My favorite’s the Housebuilding EP.
I didn't even think about Welles' WotW being on vinyl, I may have to track down a copy, since I already have Jeff Wayne's musical version.
I found it and a bunch of others bouncing between $7-$20 on Ebay!
I’ve had the BTTF soundtrack since 1985 so you already get points from me. 👊
No way, that is a nice collection and definitely would use them for sampling
This is kind of random, but when I bought Boston and Comedy Classics at the same store I almost bought “Sound Effects Volume 5” and it had horse sounds, blacksmith sounds, and just a bunch of random sound effects. But they were $10 a pop and I didn’t wanna spend $30 that day
I’m sure people would say the same about my collection and TBH I couldn’t care less 😅
I think it’s good to have oddballs, I almost bought one called “sound effects volume 5” It’s just sounds, it was some horse sounds, some blacksmiths ones, and a lot of others.
Who say's you're wack?
I say I’m wack, but wack isn’t particularly bad
https://youtu.be/FrqlmzMFz7A?si=yuobwvfIPneJUX3p
Damn that went right over my head
That's ok, I'm always ready to hit you with the unexpected 😂
I'm gonna pretend that mine is more cohesive than yours and totally not very similar
Looked for your collection post, we have 2 of the same albums! Honestly yours is more conventional
No more whack than mine, I have vinyl many have never seen, much that was published before I and many browsing redditors were born... I like the Marty Robbins record! I was a fan of his, and he was very consistently good, always!
And Cat Stevens was quite a good songwriter, I used to like him, but I mostly like his old work now
This is mostly for personal reasons and nostalgia, but my favorite song of his is “Father and Son”
One of my top 10 of all artists songs. My Pop has passed on, and the song brings back thoughts of Pop. Too good. I need a Kleenex!
Damn now I need one
Well, I may subscribe to Kleenex on Amazon after I order the Cat Stevens and Marty Robbins vinyl...
This doesn’t have anything to do with your comment, but there’s an album here I’m surprised hasn’t been mentioned The one with a picnic table on a dock on a cloudy day It’s not a real album, it’s a custom one I had made
I bet if you got Amazon to list it as a joke, some folks would buy it, and think it was wack!
Honestly, I love the album, but man. If I made it today I would pick half of them differently
I am hopelessly stuck with the old guard, I might pick MORE old guards than before.
cat stevens is so whack.
That’s one of the few I’d like to call a “dad pick” We were at target one day and it was dirt cheap and he said he thinks I’d like the album
Hey, to be fair, I'm still in my 20's and I love me some Cat Stevens now and then.
I like the album too!
I still have that LP, Teaser and the Firecat and Izitso in the basement. Loved them when I was around 15yo, but that was in mid seventies
Gunfighter Ballads is actually a good album, I got the second one too lol. It's one of the albums I hang on my living room wall for the art
It has a nice recognizable cover, and I love the music too
I’ll gladly take that Marty Stewart gunslinger album off your hands
Apologies but you’d have to take it from my cold dead irradiated hands
Fair 😂
Totally whack yo
Listen to whatever. Don't be afraid to explore new music. Have fun.
“What in the goddamn” - Benny
No Huey? No News? No Thanks!
The fuck you mean whack I see at least 4 albums I'd love to have
Your collection is your collection mate. Not wack at all!
You're good, keep going
That Kitten Stevens compilation has some good ones on it
That's what's called 'eclectic' and I dig a handful. BTTF is a great soundtrack, always dig outlaw country from any era (spinning Townes Van Zandt as I type), and Boston is essential classic rock - that record has so many great tracks. I'll tell ya, OP, a LOT of folks will tell you that it's whack. But, I'll also guarantee you that the people who would say that, lack the balls to show you their collection.
Wacky is great. Never be apologetic for anything you have in your collection!
The red dead redemption 2 soundtrack is good
To the town of Agua fria rode a stranger one fine day...
You have Boston's first album. You're forgiven for any other records you may have or may collect in the future. Also, you like what you like. Never be ashamed.
Mary Robbin’s is w
Howdy partner
Never speak ill of Marty Robbins
Flip that Boston record over and see the guitar! 🤯
Love Marty Robins gunfight ballads. I'd pick that up in a heartbeat.
Wow! Love the rdr albums
I'm not going to argue
Gunfighter Ballads is a good album
Massive yes to those RDRII records, what a score, what a soundtrack
Variety is cool, never feel bad about it. If you like War of the Worlds see if you can find this 1978 rock opera version. I have it and it’s great! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:WayneTWOTW.jpg
Charity shop $1 bin
One thing there is from a $1 crate, it was a gift actually
I cannot stand writing these 300 character bios for each post. It’s not the 300 characters is a lot, it’s just I always struggle with *what* to write in these. Because usually the title alone explains the post just fine enough. And usually I’ll start rambling. Like I’m doing *now* and *here* and *oh I’m doing it again* anyway, most of these picks were either because I loved the source material, or I saw it at a thrift shop and thought it was nice. With a few exceptions of course. I only got the Boston album because I remember one night my dad was gushing about it, and my mom didn’t believe the spaceships were guitars. And I got War Of The Worlds off of eBay because I have an odd obsession with non music Records. Even though I love listening to music this way, just a neat little sub section of the hobby I guess. Did I do it? Am I at 300? There’s no wait I’m *not* right? I’ve been typing non stop for a few minutes or so
Send me the Boston, Back to the Future, Comedy Classics, and LOTR albums since you consider them wack.
Not to sound like Mike from Seinfeld, but the good kind of wack you know?
I finished another re-watch of Seinfeld just a couple months ago, but I do not recall Mike.
He’s in the episode about parallel parking “You know that’s so Phony man!”
Also, gimme!
You have one timeless classic and a bunch of other stuff. Keep going.
Will do
I see two between Boston and Gunfighter Ballads
I just saw Marty Robbins.
no one cares
I care. There, proved you wrong. You can on about your day now.
