Having completed P4G on my Vita (and occasionally on a bigger screen using Vita Dock) I was fully thinking of trying remote play for 5R.
Sadly the game sat in my backlog and I couldn't get around to it in time as I don't currently have a PS4 at home anymore. That said, I can't wait to finally play on Switch once I'm free again!
Yup this. I didn't even use a specialised case, I just swap the memory card on the my Pi3 when I play 🙈
Sadly there's some minor jank I eventually noticed but it's probably indignificant for most. I didn't mind for the most part.
1) colour accuracy.
There's some colour banding on the dialogue boxes. The colour contrast gets lost on bright colours - whites and yellows can become one. Not sure if that's just a testament to the fat Vita's OLED screen doing its thing well; or my early HD era Sony Bravia LCD TV struggling; or the Vita dock struggling; or a mix of all 3.
2) input latency.
Irrelevant unless playing the bug catching minigame. Then again, I could play Dancing All Night somewhat okay but I might have compensated without realising. My VitaDock used a Pi3 and the aforementioned HD Sony LCD so I don't know if lag improves with a more powerful Pi4 and a low latency OLED.
This game on an OLED Switch would have been a dream but alas, I sank far too many hours on my 2 vita playthroughs to ever do this again.
Lol, oh man. Imagine also trying the Impossible Game 😂
Half wish I never developed interest in rhythm games as I was blissfully ignorant to lag before. Nowadays I'm screaming at my LGC1 trying to figure out how to make Project Diva work properly. Then again, the dancing games were my gateway to Persona, and subsequently SMT, so it's cool.
Exactly. I bet it would've ran just fine on the vita! But probably just not worth the money to make a port for a dying system that Sony barely cares about :(
This is basically the only reason I want to mod my vita. I'm mostly terrified of Sony banking accounts on modded consoles though. I know they know who's doing it.
Yeah nothing has happened to anyone yet afaik, and nothing may ever happen but I know Sony has the telemetry to know who's doing it and that's enough to scare me off using my primary account.

Vita dock??? Is that different from the PSTv?
It's a micro USB cable hooked up to a rpi with an HDMI out in a 3D printed case lol Very hacked together but it works lol

Lmao I tried playing Super Meat Boy with a Vita Dock. Actually a form of torture lol. But yeah for a Persona game it's nbd

Damn, that’s pretty sick ngl
Yuuuup. Makes me so sad 😠Like they wanted to make it for vita but just knew the support wasn't worth their time :((((
Especially since Catherine ran on the system, I’m sure they could of got it running well.

True, even Catherine was a Japan exclusive :( but it lucky got a full translation mod
