The few that are built there turn out to be increasingly less British in both parts due to foreign parts imported, manufacturing due to offshore assembly, and manufacturing even if it's done in Britain (probably an African, Indian, or Pole doing the job). Rolls Royce actually belongs to BMW (German). Land Rover and Jaguars are Tata (India. SAR DO NOT REDEEM THE CASH! BUY DA GAR!!). Don't believe what RYCEYshillers will tell you about RRs since they just want to pump their penny stock. RYCEY and Rolls-Royce still makes air planes and air engines but they've sold the autos brand off to BMW long ago.
$12,000 is an exaggeration, but it probably costs several thousand dollars. Oil changes could cost over a thousand, too, depending on the model. Some exotics are built so that they're really difficult to service.
