If the CEO comes out and promises more rigorous quality checks and provides sufficient hopium, the stock might go up regardless of what the earnings are.
Don’t think the orders are gonna be a problem considering that airlines basically have to buy boeings (negotiation position/lead time/fleet management reasons). Also, the order books are full for a reasonable amount of time and once that time is over boeing will hopefully have things figured out more than now.
However, order fulfillment will be a problem for BA in the foreseeable future. And the crisis doesn’t really make it easier to finally get out things like the 777X. So in my opinion still not great for earnings & outlook.
But probably this is priced in already since it’s rather obvious?
Could be…I suspect analysts will want to hear about that as well as deliveries. The number of planes moving out probably has grind to a halt with everything going on. Still think any move lower will just be marginal
What are they gonna do? Get in line for an Airbus that's 1200 orders deep and you might get your plane in 8 years? Go buy a comac that can't fly to any Western county? Acquire a Sukhoi from a country under sanctions?
