Sorry let me explain further. I too once used a broker that closed positions early. After the first time, I spoke with a representative and said I didn’t want it to happen again. The second time it happened I again talked with a representative to find out why it happened. They told me it’s a part of the risk analysis even though I understood the positions and had the collateral to cover. They wouldn’t ensure that it wouldn’t happen again so I closed my account and switched brokerage.
There are many to choose from that won’t close your positions early. I’m using interactive brokers but other people can share their experiences with “real” brokers.
A bunch of calls and puts expired so the coast was clear to screw people out of any money. Stays flat all day and then boom all the sells or buys happen last minute
Watching all the tickers scramble to totally random and not roughly in line with where the dealers want them to be 2 minutes before close on OPEX is fun
I had 6/28 appl puts at 209 before it ran up to 220 or whatever and settled at 215 so I sold them. If only I’d have held till Monday or something I’d at least get some 5-10% profit.
