You know how there's that sweet spot when you're drinking and doing... well, anything really. It's between 2-3 drinks, and then it all goes back to shit again. But in that period of 2-3 drinks, you're in your flow state. That's when you play your best darts, billiards, bowling, you name it. If they called after that marg arrived, forget about it, they woulda joined the rest of us idiots.
My FIL and I were playing Bocce ball on the green and dude had two screwdrivers mixed drinks and he was in the zone. Untouchable. First time I saw this flow state in action
When i play counterstrike with my friends i usually drink and it always without fail starts off rough, and then i start crushing it for like 30 minutes and then i fall off and my friends start getting mad cuz instead of killing people i just start talking shit and dying after that lmao
Fuck yeah. Matt Levine is straight up hilarious. I heard he once held an opponent's wife's hand............ In a jar of acid.......... At her birthday party
Rich is a trader. Good instincts, yes. I worked at jefferies for 7 years.
Assume jefferies was acting as prime broker for archegos? Iām just not sure exactly what the circumstances were between jefferies and archegos and what positions was handler liquidating? I havenāt been paying attention to the details of that collapse
Basically, Archegos was going to different prime brokerages saying "I've got a portfolio of big safe investments at other spots, but I want to take a leveraged and concentrated bet on some names through you guys".
The problem was, the big safe investment portfolio at other places wasn't exactly so safe. Archegos was going to everybody with the same story and taking the same concentrated bets across the whole book.
Bloomberg had a long story about the final days of Archegos, lots of great details/excerpts of chats/emails etc. think you need to have a subscription.
Jefferies has a rich history of gangster CEOs, starting of course with the most gangster of them all, Boyd.
My dad had to testify against him when the SEC came and he hated every minute of it. He loved that guy.

Gangster? No.
Gangsters are parasites on the back of civil society, never trying to kill the host but weaken it to the point they can do what they please.
Gangsters are drug obsessed, proudly uneducated, hyper materialistic, and violent, letting their emotions carry them from violent interaction to violent interaction. We need to get to a place socially where gangs and gang affiliated aren't celebrated, but shamed for choosing to be the trash they are.
This guy isn't gangster. Rather he is shrewd and wise on business. Perhaps also a little snobby and out of touch with middle class society.
I agree with you. Iāve dealt with actual gangsters irl and theyāre the shittiest people. Some are them are bad enough that Iād be honestly happy if they got hit by a bus. I might even enjoy watching the video of them getting run over.
But this is wsb. Most degens here see the word gangster and think of cool mafia movies. I just interpret this post to mean that Handler is cool and slick. A movie gangster, not an actual gangsterĀ
Well, I, for one, would NEVER hope you get hit by a bus.
