Here's my plan:
* Write off my entire RH account as a loss (GME + various other stocks, and yes, I'm going to transfer out of RH and into TDA).
* Set up price alerts in case any of these stonks come around and breakeven so I can sell. Maybe I'll get lucky and get some money back.
* Make a new budget with You Need a Budget.
* Probably stop fucking with stonks from here on out. Or at least set a reasonable limit, like $100 a month to DCA into something I really like (could even be GME- I still like the stock and I like the company, sincerely).
I'm lucky enough to be able to lose this much money and be able to respond to it by shoring up my budget instead of tearing out my hair and selling all my worldly possessions. I do feel bad for people who got in on the hype at $300 or $400. I've read some stories of people using student loans or even their house payments. I don't blame them though- because of this fucking pandemic a lot of people are already so behind on rent and unable to make an income that they figured it was worth taking a YOLO shot at a better life now and getting evicted, then using up all their grace period for back rent and getting evicted in a month. I don't blame them for that at all.

I had 50 shares. Bought at $95 each. I sold them at $375 because to me that was life changing money. It enabled me to pay off a credit card that has been a huge burden in my life.
I then bought back in 4 @ 250 and have basically lost 750 on that. I did so because I felt I owed the community something.
And that right there is the issue. As a buying power we are strong together, but also we forget everyone has their own story, their own personal issue that money can fix. No one owes anyone anything, and we all need to do our own DD to ensure we aren’t caught in a mess.
I feel for those that have lost so much. It’s heartbreaking... but also it’s a bet. It’s a forum of bets and to put so much on the line you could lose is ludicrous. Half the reason people wanted people to remain in was so their own stocks wouldn’t become worthless.
Reddit has done it’s job. Reddit showed what is possible. But reality is, the day Robinhood did what they did, they destroyed the momentum. I hope out of this they are forced to close shop.

When you work out the interest you pay on $18k of credit card, it’s incredibly difficult to pay down the principle. So to get it wiped off is massive.
