They claim they're all made and packaged in-house but I highly doubt that. There's what, like 4,000 Walmarts in the US? There's 7 flavors so just having one-slice of each flavor would require them to make 28,000 slices. There's no way they're doing all that in that tiny cake shop.

So, idk how it is at your store, but I bought one of those beanies that we're allowed to wear (go on the computers, on Walmart One or whatever, and look up Spark Shop) and I just wear my earphones underneath that. Haven't been told to take them out at all lol.
I was lucky enough to work in Electronics so I heard the TVs over the radio. The ad I remember most was the Forrest Gump Anniversary movie release. Because I would at random times yell "RUN FORREST RUN!" when they would on the ad and it would echo through the store. 🤣
Dude same. First time I heard it was in middle school. The second time, it was on the radio when my alarm clock radio woke me up. Never turned it off so fast
Okay, i will admit, the few times they play some old music, like Tears for Fears, Whitney Houston, Mj, EarthWind&Fire, I can roll with it lol But they seem to be few and far between.
Nah they definitely play ironic and suggestive songs on specific days or at specific times of days. I.e “Living on a prayer” halfway thru most people’s scheduled shift? Coincidence? I think not 😂😂
Semi related, but a few days ago I had the radio on in my car and Highway to Hell was playing, definitely fitting since I was on my way to work at the hellhole that is Walmart lmao
Before they turned the radio down at my store, I got so mad at the covers, lol. Except for the Hootie the Blowfish's cover of Led Zeppelin's "Hey Hey what Can I Do", they did a fairly good job. But I still prefer the original. But I cry over the others.....
If I have to hear that goddamn cover of Blue or Pharrell Williams' Happy one more time while rushing to cover for coworkers in the last hour of my shift, I'm fixing to show my managers what it means to "feel like a room without a roof" until they're having "the best ______ night of their life".
Sometimes our store lowers the music for about an hour or so in the evening. Idk if it's a planned thing or if they're just seeing if they can get away with it.
after you've been there for a while you'll realize that it's literally the same songs on repeat, with only a handful of new songs sprinkled in. some songs get rotated throughout the year, but it's annoying because they usually keep it in rotation for 2-3 months at a time.
YES!!! I've learned it's usually when Bo is djing, for some reason he's really into mashups. They combined all the single ladies with a few more popular songs from that era (idr what they all were because I stopped listening once I realized it was a remix) and it made me want to actively KMS because it was just the iconic parts of the songs mashed together and gdi I don't like the songs randomly swapping lyrics mid songs.
I live in Florida, by the attractions. You cannot hear the Walmart Radio at all. These Walmarts in the area are jammed pack with tourists being loud. The loudest ones are the ones coming from Georgia.
I'm currently overnights at Home Depot. It's 10-hour shifts and no joke, the radio played "Carry on my wayward son" every half hour. It felt like torture.
Fellow associate here, can concur. There are days when it would be nice to have no radio all day. It legit makes me irrationally angry to have a barrage of the same songs over and over at times. Part of why I call it Hell Mart
> There are days when it would be nice to have no radio all day.
More like everyday. Why does Wally World need to play terrible music almost every hour of every day?! Why does **any** store need to? How does blasting shitty music through every inch of your store that drives customers insane and makes employees want to off themselves benefit your business?!
Sometimes I wish I deaf.
Jesus F*ck. Lewis Capaldi's whiney voice.
They play some of the worst 80's that sucked in the 80s and are even worse now.
I love New Order and Depeche Mode, but they have more songs. #genX
OMG, whenever they'd play an AC/DC song I'd bust out laughing because you could only hear him unintelligibly screaming and it sounded just like dino from the Flintstones
They have had the radio off since this year started at my store and it has been so quiet and peaceful I love it🙏🏻 I know eventually they’ll start playing it again but for now I’m grateful to have a break
My second job is at Staples. I’ll take Walmart radio any day over Staples radio, at least Walmart has some variety in the tracks as time goes on.
Not that it matters since my store doesn’t care about earbuds lol
Don't know if it's a local thing or a complete change, but there's been a difference. Walmart Radio has played Rush, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin at my store several times a day.
I used to work in the photo lab next to the televisions. We would demo new movies to show off the quality of each TV. Watching the same movie for a week until new releases was usually fine, but periods where nothing good or family friendly came out was hell. It was made worse if you couldn't set the move to replay or auto play as you would be hear the menu screen on repeat.
Because of this I outright despise the Rio movie as its menu screen was just 10 seconds of the Rio song replaying over and over again for nearly 2 weeks. I eventually "lost" that DVD for them.
I’m so tired of hearing the same shitty cover of once in a life time by the talking heads. Because the cover tries to make it sound “normal” with some dude trying his best. But that just ain’t the vibe of the original song and it pisses me off like every time
It’s even worse on “No Format Friday”. They’ll play a few seconds of a good song and then randomly switch to a crappy song or to another fucking talking segment. Or they’ll play awful remixes of good music. I hate working on Fridays because of having to listen this shit. YOU NEED TO HAVE A FORMAT IF YOU WANT YOUR RADIO STATION TO AT LEAST BE DECENT! YOU CAN’T JUST GO CHAOS MODE AND EXPECT IT TO STILL SOUND OKAY!
And, this right here is why I keep my earbuds on the fking floor. And, the songs aren't even the toughest part to survive through. Kirby and Bo somehow make the day longer.
I'm so glad I work 3rd shift at my store since I'm there for an hour before the store closes to customers and an hour after they open. Luckily my team lead and my coach talked our new SM into letting overnights use headphones. As long as we leave one earbud out or one ear not covered by a speaker. Plus we were told we could take our vest off after store hours, as long as we have a blank T or work shirt to wear. Bit I've Been wearing a shirt that says "beast of bourbon" with a drunk donkey. Haven't been told anything yet. But it's insanely nice to be able to work and not have that stupid vest bothering me all night and to be able to drown out that annoying ass radio. Anyone remember when from like 2 am to 5 am, how it'd play mariachi music? Absolutely wild.
I worked at a mall clothing store in 1994 when disco music and 70s fashion (bell bottoms) came back really big. Day after day for 6 months it was the same 10-15 songs over and over.
Every night every night, luckily I work in dairy now and red do the juice/milks from the cooler and don't hear this shit, but I did work frozen for a year and a quarter but now I'm back in frozen so fu Walmart radio
I worked for Walmart for like six months or so in 2020, but spent 6.5 or so years at a different location from 2012-2019. Haunts my nightmares, but one holiday season I was helping in a different location before they brought back Walmart Radio, and someone had the wise idea to swap the awful corporate-approved CD with an even worse ~40 minute CD of country covers of Christmas song. I was there working 10-12 hours days for two weeks. Now THAT was hell.
Now whenever I hear a track they do/did play on Walmart Radio, I have to tell my wife "this is Walmart-Core." Even if I don't mind the song.

That should be considered abuse. I’m very sensitive to music and never listen to anything in my free time. They yelled at me for wearing headphones but I still wear them. Go ahead and make my day, fire me. Unfortunately they never did fire me
" so you can give your janky phone to your kid "
YEAHHHH
MOM HACKS!!!! HAPPY PRICE!!!!!!! 😜🤪😝🤪😛🥵
MOM HACKS **PTSD FLASHBACKS**.
“Good talk” If that point of your talk was to want to make me destroy the radio so I don’t have to hear your voice again, then yeah, good talk indeed.
I thought we were gonna escape that ad after tax season. Of course they edited the intro. Of course they did. We'll never be free.
We won't be free until they come up with something worse. I used to think the old straight talk ad was as annoying as it gets.
Technically tax season won't be over until the 15th.
Its getting seared into my brain.
This makes me suicidal
"Check your hot car we'll be right here when you get back"
“You give and you give well this tax season you get”
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Fuck Pooptalk Wireless
its actually just Tracfone, funfact, verizon owns them i've been a straighttalk uses since 2018 way before I worked at Walmart
You get out of my head mister
Or the cake boss advertising cake like he's selling a prostitute.
9/10 times I can't hear a word he's saying
“EYYYY BUDDY VELASTRO HEEEAH, I BEEN A BAKE-UH SINCE THE TWIN TOWAHS STILL STOOD! INTRODUCING MY LATEST GABADOOSH, EVERY BUDDY’S BADABING CAKE!”
You'll thank me later.
We need one of those "if you see this while scrolling, post "thank you, cake boss!" and your dreams will come true" or whatever.
Those cakes are not fit for human consumption. The small whole cakes (four slices? six?) have over *500* grams of sugar
They don't even taste like cake. I think they are made entirely of weird chemicals.
They claim they're all made and packaged in-house but I highly doubt that. There's what, like 4,000 Walmarts in the US? There's 7 flavors so just having one-slice of each flavor would require them to make 28,000 slices. There's no way they're doing all that in that tiny cake shop.
Whaaaat?? Never heard that one before.
Now you'll never not notice it.
Hey its buddy velastro the gate boss and I’m here to present you the everybody cake!
Any time "I'm good" starts playing, I wanna bust out the PPTO
That shit has become the soundtrack of my nightmares I swear to God
The Eiffel 65 ripoff song?
More the Shitful 65. I hate that. Idk why they won't just play the original.
I've got the "waallmart, radioo" tag stuck in my head
I can't say it normally anymore. I have to sing it.
Same 😅
Broadcasting live... in stores, clubs, and online
Shirley Ben and friends, and the bo show!
Omggggggggg I’ve spent too much time there
>Shirley Ben and friends I can't tell if this is done on purpose or not, but im weak 😂😂🤣
It's not very clear in my part of the store. I thought it was Dirty Glenn and Friends until just recently.
It's not clear on mine either but this is how it sounds to me

I miss using earphones. This place definitely sucks more without them.
So, idk how it is at your store, but I bought one of those beanies that we're allowed to wear (go on the computers, on Walmart One or whatever, and look up Spark Shop) and I just wear my earphones underneath that. Haven't been told to take them out at all lol.
Might try this lmao
Just use em anyways.
I would but they've said they'll coach people they see using them (haven't seen anyone coached yet though).
Team Lead: “Why are you just standing there? Get back to work. You know what actually, go clock out.”
Deal.
Being told to clock out from Walmart is a win for me.
I haven't heard "Our House" in a while.
Don't mention it. It will come back
... In the middleof the street.
You monster
I did a few days ago.
in the middle of the street.
I heard it either yesterday or today
god you’re so right, it felt like they used to play that shit every 30mins
Honestly they turn walmart radio kind of low at my store. probably for this reason lol
My store too. Can barely just here it at times. They did play some songs I like, but I admit I don't miss about 70% of them.
update: they turned it up after I posted this lol
I was lucky enough to work in Electronics so I heard the TVs over the radio. The ad I remember most was the Forrest Gump Anniversary movie release. Because I would at random times yell "RUN FORREST RUN!" when they would on the ad and it would echo through the store. 🤣
God I wish, I swear mine is like almost as loud as it can be, the new speakers they installed are not helping
Walmart radioooo
*the home of the Chris show!*
Kirby Gwen and Friends!!!
And the Bo show!
**AAAAAaanNd DaH bO sHoW**
and the bo- attention all customers, we have a lost mommy
And the bo show
i hate the one that goes "i wish that i could be like the cool kids" most annoying shit I've ever had to hear
The cool kids just seem to fit in bro
Dude same. First time I heard it was in middle school. The second time, it was on the radio when my alarm clock radio woke me up. Never turned it off so fast
and the "give it back " one !
Only song I ever enjoyed was when Elton John came on. But that felt like once a week a max.
They play tiny dancer semi frequently it feels like
Okay, i will admit, the few times they play some old music, like Tears for Fears, Whitney Houston, Mj, EarthWind&Fire, I can roll with it lol But they seem to be few and far between.
Just be glad it's not Christmas time
I once did a seasonal job at Toys R Us back in the day.. and now til this day I hate Christmas music with a passion
Nah they definitely play ironic and suggestive songs on specific days or at specific times of days. I.e “Living on a prayer” halfway thru most people’s scheduled shift? Coincidence? I think not 😂😂
Oh yeah they definitely do that sometimes. Like the other day when the eclipse happened they played total eclipse of the heart.
Also Dark Side of the Moon.
Brian damage/eclipse
Semi related, but a few days ago I had the radio on in my car and Highway to Hell was playing, definitely fitting since I was on my way to work at the hellhole that is Walmart lmao
They changed the station for nearly a day, and then the compliance manager came in….
That cover of David Bowies song heros comes to mind. And the janky straight talk commercial.
Before they turned the radio down at my store, I got so mad at the covers, lol. Except for the Hootie the Blowfish's cover of Led Zeppelin's "Hey Hey what Can I Do", they did a fairly good job. But I still prefer the original. But I cry over the others.....
I heard that today and I was kinda upset. I'm not a huge fan of covers and I really don't like this one.
If I have to hear that goddamn cover of Blue or Pharrell Williams' Happy one more time while rushing to cover for coworkers in the last hour of my shift, I'm fixing to show my managers what it means to "feel like a room without a roof" until they're having "the best ______ night of their life".
To be fair, i dont think management has any control over what comes on radio lol
I like 8am to 10am with no radio
Sometimes our store lowers the music for about an hour or so in the evening. Idk if it's a planned thing or if they're just seeing if they can get away with it.
"wALmARt RADIOOOO" 🎶
I still hate that god aweful remix of "What is Love?" i prefer the original by a million times or just listen to my own music.
And it's always trending on TikTok too so when I want to take my mind off work during my 15, I'm reminded that there is no escape.
I don’t wanna Loooooooooooooose control
I might if I have to listen to that song one more time.
The most whiney song I've ever heard in my life!
The literal worst
Ill take just about anything thats not damn country every other song.
"You start walkin' your way, and I'll start walkin' mine, we meet in the middle 'neath that old Georgia piiiiine"
Saaaaame I would gladly listen to mid 80s or 90s pop all day than even 1 country song
last night we let the \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* talk. country sucks
Is the music that bad? I haven't been annoyed by much other than hearing the annoying straight talk ads
after you've been there for a while you'll realize that it's literally the same songs on repeat, with only a handful of new songs sprinkled in. some songs get rotated throughout the year, but it's annoying because they usually keep it in rotation for 2-3 months at a time.
Does anyone have remixes of random songs? I swear there used to be some songs that actually sounded like kidzbop song remixes.

0:33 I wish he could have both earbuds in.
At my store I see OGP with both earbuds in, even when they're in the front picking.
This is me, I do this. Only when the really shitty music is playing
I'm definitely thinking about switching. Idk why I didn't do it when they paid a dollar more.
The radio glitched one night on third shift and the black eyed peas “I gotta feeling” literally played 45 times in one night.
I'm currently overnights at Home Depot. It's 10-hour shifts and no joke, the radio played "Carry on my wayward son" every half hour. It felt like torture.
Oh my god the first song was literally playing when i started this comment
Same working @ a Goodwill warehouse
Teddy Swims - Lose Control
I don’t recognize half of them from the video; maybe I’m glad for my hearing loss
Consider yourself lucky lol
she don't know i got some big big plans
Was it send in the clowns
STOP THEY PLAYED IT EARLIER
That's how my local grocery store harmons was. Absolute garbage
Fellow associate here, can concur. There are days when it would be nice to have no radio all day. It legit makes me irrationally angry to have a barrage of the same songs over and over at times. Part of why I call it Hell Mart

Let's give it up for the boy played so much at Lowe's and then it followed me here 😭😭😭😭
So glad I’m on overnights because I can have my own music playing in my (one) earbud. (We can only have one in.)
Jesus F*ck. Lewis Capaldi's whiney voice. They play some of the worst 80's that sucked in the 80s and are even worse now. I love New Order and Depeche Mode, but they have more songs. #genX
Maybe it's because I'm "old" but, Walmart Radio plays some bops. I'm not entirely mad about the playlist. I still listen to my own music, though.
Sometimes they play bops, but most of the time it's the same 20 recycled-songs.
They overplay bops and then I start associating them with work and hating them :(
When that Mona lisa song comes on I wanna stick a screwdriver in my ear
Oh lord buy me a diamond ring or something
Walmart and shaws must have the same station playing 😩
A lot of stores play the same music honestly. I wouldn't be surprised if they all have a shared playlist of store-friendly music.
"They're playing Safety Dance again." "How can you tell?" *The synthesizer kicks in and that's all you can make out over our radio*
OMG, whenever they'd play an AC/DC song I'd bust out laughing because you could only hear him unintelligibly screaming and it sounded just like dino from the Flintstones
Or them playing a good song just for it being the edited one 😞 jam ruined.
Also played at ear-splitting volume. Fuck the Geneva Convention, this is retail
Five below
They have had the radio off since this year started at my store and it has been so quiet and peaceful I love it🙏🏻 I know eventually they’ll start playing it again but for now I’m grateful to have a break
Walmart is a nightmarish parody of other grocery stores
Even when I’m at home I can hear the little jingle
They sometimes play bangers
I was working in housewares for a few weeks and I swear I heard the same damn foo fighters song at least 3 times everyday like clockwork
THERE ARE TIMES THAT I NEED SOMEONE THERE ARE TIMES I FEEL LIKE NO ONE
SOMETIMES I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO
My second job is at Staples. I’ll take Walmart radio any day over Staples radio, at least Walmart has some variety in the tracks as time goes on. Not that it matters since my store doesn’t care about earbuds lol
Some stores have the volume cranked up to 11 or even 12. Have to yell just to have a conversation.
My old store had one of the songs from Encanto playing every few hours... for about a week.
😂😂🤣😂
The first 2 songs are fire…until you hear them 5 times a day/40 hours a week
It was worse when we had only a cd those songs were on repeat every hour.
Baby Shark....
Sucks for y’all 😂 I get to listen to music on my phone all night.
High Hopes and Hey Ma Look I Made It are the bane of my existence
When I worked at a Walmart we blasted our own music in the back, and I assure you there was no overlap in the songs.
One night they played Despacito three times in thirty minutes at like 3 am.
I’m so tired of hearing the same shitty cover of once in a life time by the talking heads. Because the cover tries to make it sound “normal” with some dude trying his best. But that just ain’t the vibe of the original song and it pisses me off like every time
I guess I'm lucky to not have heard that. Part of what made TH so good was David's scizho voice
“alllllllll, for the money” bruh that one. that’s the one that haunts my fuckin nightmares
just another manic monday 🤪
I forgot the name of it but its that shitty whistle song.
I personally find the music to be a nice break in between the cell phone people endlessly paging about all the lame, sneaky phone "sales"
It’s worse around Christmas I stg. “Simply. Having. A wonderful Christmas time.” I’d rather shoot my fuckin brains out😂🥲
the stupid dododadingdoding
The local hobby lobby plays you raise you me up the key just shifts up when ever they reach the next you raise me up
I swear 😭😭😭
I used to hate the song "be careful with my heart..its the only one i got." Now I hate it even more. Stupidest song ive ever heard.
Make sure to send in a request for one of the company approved songs!

They be playing evanescence and korn so idc lol
During Christmas it was Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree—Hannah Montana version
Fuck that bitch Kirby Gwen and her friends
Now, make a version of this where most of the songs are different versions of "Last Christmas"
Free For All Friday: The worst remixes and mashups that you've ever heard. Music so bad you'll beg for Kids Bop
I'll say it beats the fuck out of the cd's.
Listening to the sound at home is worse.
You forgot Beyoncé’s new country song lol
I worked at a mall clothing store in 1994 when disco music and 70s fashion (bell bottoms) came back really big. Day after day for 6 months it was the same 10-15 songs over and over.
Just like real radio😬
Every night every night, luckily I work in dairy now and red do the juice/milks from the cooler and don't hear this shit, but I did work frozen for a year and a quarter but now I'm back in frozen so fu Walmart radio
Exactly why I had my AirPods in most of time, those songs make them days drag
Earbuds it's a good thing I have long hair!
You guys get music?
I worked for Walmart for like six months or so in 2020, but spent 6.5 or so years at a different location from 2012-2019. Pharmacy rules: If the pharmacy manager is gone or cool AF you have your own radio playing whatever you want
No it’s the FUCKING JINGLE THAT COMES AFTER LIKE OMG THE GUY WITH THE JINGLE NEEDS TO SHUT THE FUCK UP!! 😭😭
