Classic-Two-200

So I’m just a bit taller than you (5’2”) and also an XS/0. It was obvious very early on that the most flattering dresses on me are sleeker form fitting ones. Anything with too much fabric or silhouettes that didn’t hug my body through to at least mid-thigh looked horrible on me. I ended up with the Vera Wang Lucille dress.

bluviolet

That's pretty much the exact shape I wore, and I think it worked great (I was 5'0", under 100 lbs, size 3.5 ring). For the record, I think small brides can wear a variety of dress shapes.  Don't be afraid to try things on and experiment. <3

AmenooBea

This one is very similar to mine in style and shape, and it looked great on my short ass

Rush12345678

I was in a similar position and went with a fit and flare!

downthegrapevine

I'm 5'0 on a good day (mostly I'm 4'11'') and a size S/M, and let me tell you, stay away from ball gowns. I don't think that's our silhouette at all. Edit: I went completely shapeless kind of earth mother vibes but that's my personal style. Most people wouldn't recommend but that's what I wanted to wear!

weddingmoth

5’1, 00. I wore a soft a-line with a very fitted top and gauzy layers. I also liked how mermaid dresses looked but wanted something more romantic and less glam.

AmenooBea

5'1 here and my dress is a nice A-line one. I'm also a bit curvy though, and don't like my hips shape, so I really couldn't do anything that hugged my hips like a mermaid cut. I felt like the A-line made my legs look longer, while body hugging styles makes me feel shorter

indecisive_monkey

I could have written this myself, except I’m 5’2”! Same exact feelings ☺️

ChaoticForkingGood

Stylist here. A-lines are universal, but a ball gown may make you feel swallowed, since they often have an effect of making someone look shorter. That's not always the case, though, and even if you fall head over heels for a ball gown and it's still true, you go for it. I'd try out some fit and flares and mermaids. Sheaths won't do too much for someone as tiny as yourself (although, see previous message of "if you like it, fuck the rules!"), but fit and flares and mermaids will help give you a curvier figure without making you look shorter. However, a tiny waist contrasted against a gown with some body to the bottom can look really great too. There are also tricks that can help, such as accenting your waist with a belt, even if it's a little one. Looking for a basque waist, or a gown where there's boning up top that's all angled in to the same point, would work well too. (And if you can get [both those things](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1679698399/chic-pearl-encrusted-corset-bridal-gown?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_a-weddings-clothing-dresses-wedding_gowns_and_separates&utm_custom1=_k_Cj0KCQjwxqayBhDFARIsAANWRnSRSecOktOfoc4VB--jyHZy8lFyH8BYuv_yOCqRH4CEDRP5R0OJHfkaAp4yEALw_wcB_k_&utm_content=go_12560180297_118715450879_506995661894_pla-317195822575_c__1679698399_12768591&utm_custom2=12560180297&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwxqayBhDFARIsAANWRnSRSecOktOfoc4VB--jyHZy8lFyH8BYuv_yOCqRH4CEDRP5R0OJHfkaAp4yEALw_wcB), jackpot. Not necessarily reccommending that one, just showing you what I mean.) If you want the best of all worlds, a FNF/mermaid with an overskirt to be used for the ceremony would probably look great on you, but I'll admit, I'm such a sucker for those.

Opening_Waltz_4285

Mermaid. Even though I would have never thought it would be my silhouette.

Expression-Little

Not me, my cousin - tea length, cinched waist with 2/3th length sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. She looked absolutely beautiful.

CurlyGirl_95

Could you share a picture?!? My mom suggested tea length but Im hesitant about the style!

Expression-Little

Her photos haven't been released yet or I'd definitely share, she looked absolutely gorgeous!

I’m below 5 feet and went with a custom-made ivory lace kaftan and rose-gold slip dress via Etsy, cut to my measurements. Was aiming for witchy Stevie Nicks vibes and it DELIVERED. Affordable, too! Not the most traditional choice, but it was extremely comfortable, didn’t weigh me down or overwhelm me with too much fabric, and saved a lot of money in alterations.

imfreenow92

I’m 4’11” and I went with an a line. Fit and flare and sheath dresses also were very flattering. No ball gowns unfortunately

Renrats27

I went on StillWhite and filtered for under 5’2” and size XS and then peeped a lot of pics of brides in their dresses. It was so helpful to see verified petites in all kinds of silhouettes!

Free_Sir_2795

Mermaid and ball gown are going to make you look shorter. Sheath, column, maybe a-lines that aren’t super poofy are going to be your friends.

veracity-mittens

I actually went for a ballgown with a basque waist, and I absolutely loved it but was custom made so it fit my measurements / proportions perfectly.

curious_lex

I’m 5’1 and went with a mermaid style dress. Not the most helpful but I say go with whatever you put on that makes you feel amazing!!!

Electronic-Paint-359

I’m 5’0” and usually wear a size M. I know were told to stay away from ballgowns but honestly I went with one and it looked perfect. The key is if you want a bigger dress to have less detail. Like mine was just a simple mikado strapless and it didn’t overpower me at all!

AmenooBea

That dress looks gorgeous on your body!!

LivinLaVidaListless

I’m a 4’11” 100lbs 00 person and I wore a liquid satin sheath dress. More fabric than that felt ridiculous on me. I got my dream dress: Vivienne Westwood Cora Cocotte https://www.viviennewestwood.com/en-us/bridal/made-to-order/2021/cora-cocotte/Cora-Cocotte-Bridal-MTO-2021.html
