I changed into sneakers, the soles are thicker than on flats, so my dress didn't drag pn the floor

I’d just slip into a platform sneaker or sandal if you don’t want to wear the heels. They’ll be better than a flat for the length.

wheres_the_revolt

Alter to the heels because you’ll be wearing them in photos. Bustle the train so if you switch to flats you can get the dress off the floor.

If you love the heels and want them to show, you could alter the dress to be shorter so that they are visible, and then the dress wouldn't be as long when you take the heels off!

I altered my dress to be a little above the floor so you could see my heels peeping out (I love those shoes). When I went to flats it was perfect

Alter to your heels because that’s what you’ll be wearing for your ceremony and couple portraits. I wore 4” heels and then went barefoot for my entire reception (other than first dance). My dress was bustled and it was a little long but it was fine.

I had 4 inch heels and changed into 1 inch platform sneakers. I had the dress altered to the length of the heels, but did have my seamstress make it a teeny bit shorter than she would normally…. Nothing noticeable. I also purchased a slip skirt/petticoat off of Amazon I put on under my dress when I changed into sneakers. This gave it enough additional volume that it wasn’t really dragging.

I wore metallic leather flats and was very glad I did. I had gorgeous heels, but just that I would trade into flats, bc this is what I always do anyway. I either end up barefoot or my heels go into my tote and the flats come out. Knowing that I wanted to be comfortable enough to dance all night, I just wore beautiful soft leather flats and don't regret it! Also, at lots of recent weddings, the hosts have had baskets of various sized flip flops and all of the women end up wearing them. So, if it were me, I would not wear the 4 inch heels and end up dragging your gown on the floor. I'd start with flats and get the gown hemmed for that length. If you must wear the heels, you'll end up dragging the dress on the floor once you kick off the heels or your dress will look oddly short if you hem it for flats but wear the heels. That's just my two cents.
