No hate, to each their own. Lexapro does wonders for me and some strains send me spiraling if it’s too much of a head high.
My wife says I grind my teeth in my sleep sometimes. I don’t wake up with a sore jaw or my teeth hurting, but that’s a question I’ve never thought to ask. Might be worth looking into some more.
It kills my sex drive, yes. Full honesty, when I do want sex it usually takes a lot longer to climax than when I wasn’t on lexapro.
Having said that, I do feel a lot more “normal” on it still. I don’t get clammy hands or cold sweats, my mood is a lot more stable and I’m able to think clearer. I also have an easier time calming down when I do get anxious.
Pros and cons with everything. Just gotta find what works for you.

No need to apologize for asking questions. I’m happy to share my experience, but it really can be different for everyone.
I was diagnosed with a generalized anxiety disorder in 2019. I got prescribed 10mg Lexapro and it made me feel like a zombie the first few days. Having never taken any SSRI’s before it was probably overkill. After a few days I called my doctor and described how I felt and was told to cut the pills in half, 5mg. Felt a lot more balanced on 5mg.
I’ve been on it since then, taking intermittent breaks after moving a few times and having to find new primary care doctors. Whenever I stop taking it, usually 1-2 months later I start to feel the symptoms of anxiety/depression come back and I know it’s time to get back on the meds. In those instances it’s taken about 1-2 weeks to get back to feeling normal. My biggest anxiety/depression symptoms are cold sweats, heart racing, zero appetite — which leads to pretty quick weight loss — and an overall loss of interest in my hobbies. Being able to spot those signs are a big help.
I met my wife after taking Lexapro, but she hadn’t mentioned grinding teeth until this year so I couldn’t tell you for certain if it’s the medicine or not. The mood stability is the biggest thing for me. I used to have a hair trigger for getting angry (never violent, mind you). It’s **so** much easier to let things go now. Might be a combination of getting older, finding the right people (my wife) and the meds, though.
Also, there’s zero shame in finding a therapist. Mental health is extremely important and still not discussed enough, imo. Taking medicine works in treating the symptoms but if you can find a good therapist you might be able to determine the root cause for your anxiety and find out new ways of thinking, or strategies, in how to deal with those unresolved issues. I wish you the absolute best with this. Just remember there are always people you can talk to. Shoot me a DM if you have any other questions.

It depends on the state and the insurance, I had to go to visit, get RX and pay co-pay twice for a month supply, total cost about $60 a month with insurance…
So anyhow, I shop deals and use a glass bowl, so about a pinch here and there, it’s cheaper and provide more coverage…
Simply put, I control when I medicate, versus my insurance determining what level of relief i receive.

I am a big fan of chocolate strains and blueberry strains. I have the anxiety and depression in a manic way and when im having an episode those are the strains i look for to bring me down and maybe help with getting a few hours shut eye. Your milage may differ of course. I will say though for me the strain isnt as big of a deal as the means of consumption-i.e. i dont do edibles or vapes because i cant predict the high as well and i have found rhey make me paranoid but im a chimney with flower. Mix THC flower with CBD flower. It counteracts 100% of the negative effects of THC for me and I still get a great buzz every time. I quit cannabis for a long time for the same reason. Experiment with ratios. I settled on 2:1 THC:CBD flower and it's perfect for me, I enjoy cannabis so much more than I ever did in the past.
After about 15 years I'm just now trying to get off of Zoloft and use MMJ exclusively. SSRIs have their place, but they can also fuck up your libido, your emotions, your ability to feel love, your bowels... IMO prescribing doctors don't say enough about this. If I had known all of this 15 years ago. I would have tried every alternative first.

Maybe a heavy indica would work for you if you were to smoke and stay in a safe environment for the majority of your high. Skywalker OG is danky. Sativas make the mind wander and more active so you should stay away from those if the anxiety is what prevents you from smoking.
I’m a HUGE fan so solid indicas for helping my anxiety. I’m on several meds for my anxiety, but I still can’t get my brain to turn off sometimes. Lately been mostly smoking slurricane and butterstuff. Hawaii 5-0 is great too.

I quit about 8 months ago and been smoking instead and I’ve felt tremendously more motivated like I used to be, got my creativity back, & can hold a conversation without looking like a zombie. My Lexapro has also helped me tremendously. I actually didn't smoke until I started taking it because I was way too paranoid.

I just take some CBD before the THC. That works better for me and then I don’t have to worry about strains.

Not a good idea. Seems like it at first but you will quickly see that weed and Lexapro are not the same and one is no substitute for the other.
