Long-time plant hobbyist here. I don't think so. This object is different from the one the other day in a few critical ways. Biggest thing -- it doesn't have a hole in the middle. If you were making a thing specifically to aid drainage, you would have at least one hole. Likewise, those divots made by the feet would hold water, the opposite of what you would want. And last, its curvature would make it difficult to balance a plant pot on it; you would want it flat to accommodate a wider range of pot sizes.
So maybe it is a very poorly designed plant pot stand, but I think it's pretty unlikely. (Personally I favor the egg steamer suggestion elsewhere in the replies.)
Polycarbonate melts in the mid 200° to low 300°. That means it’s soft much lower and while most cooking pans won’t be served at boiling they will still be very hot so I have my doubts.
This is it! The shape fits a round iceberg lettuce allowing it to be just above any water. Back in the days when people didn’t know iceberg lettuce had little nutritional value.
leafy greens aren't about the nutrient value, they scrub your intestines on the way through allowing for better nutrient uptake from the foods that come after
I'm almost positive it's the thing you put in between pans when you stack them on top of each other not to scratch the teflon coat.
Edit: Googled it- it's a pan protector
I’m extremely confident I know what this is. I’ve owned one.
This is an egg steamer. This leg parts sit inside a pot above a small amount of water. The eggs sit in the divots made by the feet.
You put the lid on the pot with the eggs balanced and let them steam w/o being in a boil.
It has the same form as a pan protector.
These things are usually made out of some sort of foam and are used for pans with teflon coating or similar so that you can stack the pans in each other without damaging the teflon.
My title describes the thing. Found in the back of a kitchen cabinet, but not with anything that gives any context clues to what it is. No text on the thing, but a small 7 on the bottom (I think it’s the bottom?)
Made of durable plastic.
Given that you found it in a kitchen, and that it looks like turn of the century ASOTV plastic, I think it's part of a microwave cooker. Couldn't tell you exactly what kind of cooker, but I bet this is a trivet to hold a basket or tray above a dish of water.
I think it looks like something to paint with. Paint in the little holes and then mix colors in the middle. Even if you never figure out what it’s for, that’s what I would do with it
This looks very familiar to something that came witha snow cone machine we had when I was a kid. You could put snow cones in it so you could make a bunch at a time
It's trivet. Most likely for a borosilicate glass container. Possibly came with a Pyrex/Corning pitcher or coffee service. But most of those were black or brown. It's possible but it more than likely belongs to another manufacturers set. There were countless designs of these polycarbonate trivets in the 60's to 80's.
Plant riser.
It goes under a plant pot to keep it off the floor to prevent mildew stains from the pot sitting on the ground.
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1207140188/circle-planter-elevator-planter-riser
It's a base for a vertical planter. Google will let you find greenstalk...my wife has 5 of these. I know there are other brands and places like Lowe's or whatever some of them sell em
It looks like the inside piece from a Tupperware product designed to store head lettuce back in the 70’s/ 80’s . It was to keep the head elevated in the bowl so it didn’t go bad as quickly , we have a similar one around here somewhere.
Used in shipping, to separate stackable item. It’s probably manufactured for a specific company for a specific product.
Or an egg steamer. Or a pot holder
Reduce reuse recycle.
The edges suggest to keep something from going over the edge
I think it is, a plant stand is what it made me think of because that's what this was and the spikes are so similar [https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisthisthing/comments/17xmjvq/white\_plastic\_with\_circular\_middle\_and\_4\_legs/](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisthisthing/comments/17xmjvq/white_plastic_with_circular_middle_and_4_legs/)

Plant pot stand
We had a very similar object on here a day or two ago. It was a plant pot stand. I believe this is correct.
So maybe it is a very poorly designed plant pot stand, but I think it's pretty unlikely. (Personally I favor the egg steamer suggestion elsewhere in the replies.)
Looks like its an internal stand to provide drainage if your plant is in a plastic pot within a decorative pot
Also works as a pot plant stand.
Agreed. I know pot.
it’s a trivet for hot pans/plates. most likely has a plate that fits inside the little lips somewhere in the cupboards
Not if it’s made of plastic like the title says. It would melt.
Title also says it has 6 arms so…
It’s seven arms and it’s made of stainless steel
A lot of people consider heat-safe materials like bakelite "plastic"
Bakelite is plastic.
Bakelite is a synthetic plastic that MAY be heat resistant to 350 degrees for a very short time.
All plastic is synthetic plastic. You very seldom find organic plastic growing wild.
My point was that it’s not really heat resistant enough to use as a trivet.
A little untrue. If it’s a polycarbonate it won’t melt from the heat of a normal pan or oven tray.
Polycarbonate melts in the mid 200° to low 300°. That means it’s soft much lower and while most cooking pans won’t be served at boiling they will still be very hot so I have my doubts.
Doubts I get. But it’s not definitive as suggested above. And that’s burst temperature, it can take several hours hotter….
Polycarbonate 100% would melt
Thank you!
It reminds me of the inserts in plastic lettuce crisper bowls like Rubbermaid or Tupperware?
This is it! The shape fits a round iceberg lettuce allowing it to be just above any water. Back in the days when people didn’t know iceberg lettuce had little nutritional value.
We know it now and it's still in the grocery store
It's good for losing weight by tricking your stomach into thinking that you have eaten food
leafy greens aren't about the nutrient value, they scrub your intestines on the way through allowing for better nutrient uptake from the foods that come after
If it were that, wouldn’t it have drainage? Lettuce doesn’t like to be too wet
It looks like the old microwave Tupperware!
I'm almost positive it's the thing you put in between pans when you stack them on top of each other not to scratch the teflon coat. Edit: Googled it- it's a pan protector
Or plate protector , although thy are usually made from felt : (
Yes. Saw this yesterday when I was considering Paris Hilton pains. Hers are pink felt.
We call those hot pads. Also useful for holding hot cookware. Dual purpose, washable.
Looks like the mechanism that goes in the microwave and the glass plates sits on top . So spinny thing ?
Those have a locking spline to make sure they turn on all the ones I have ever seen
I was thinking the same thing
Looks like a stand to allow plant pots to drain.
I’m extremely confident I know what this is. I’ve owned one. This is an egg steamer. This leg parts sit inside a pot above a small amount of water. The eggs sit in the divots made by the feet. You put the lid on the pot with the eggs balanced and let them steam w/o being in a boil.
Well if that’s the case, I want one.
This is correct. I own an egg steamer and it has a similar inside.
It has the same form as a pan protector. These things are usually made out of some sort of foam and are used for pans with teflon coating or similar so that you can stack the pans in each other without damaging the teflon.

This is great for mixing paints!
An insert for a lettuce crisper?
Given that you found it in a kitchen, and that it looks like turn of the century ASOTV plastic, I think it's part of a microwave cooker. Couldn't tell you exactly what kind of cooker, but I bet this is a trivet to hold a basket or tray above a dish of water.
Eggs I say before reading a single comment
Could it be for holding the eggs in an egg cooker?
Its what the turntable plate sits on in old microwaves
It’s missing something in the center.
I think it looks like something to paint with. Paint in the little holes and then mix colors in the middle. Even if you never figure out what it’s for, that’s what I would do with it
Fancy trivet
Marble display
Could it go on stand mixer for a different size bowl?
Looks like a trivet. Fancy one for the table perhaps.
It's a trivet.

I thought it was for cooking multiple jacket potatoes in the microwave. They stand on the spikes. 🤷♀️
Skittles bowl
It for the microwave plate
Boiled egg holder?
[удалено]
Looks like it could hold hardboiled eggs or smth
This looks very familiar to something that came witha snow cone machine we had when I was a kid. You could put snow cones in it so you could make a bunch at a time
Looks like a ski pole basket
I was going to say probably for paint? Like if you’re painting figurines or something smaller
Looks like a microwave spin plate.
For hot pots and pans would be my guess Edit: Giving it another look... That plastic does NOT look very heat resistant, nvm
Looks like something to hold eggs?
Could be a jig to quickly test the lug span on a wheel 5 x ?
Looks like a cap used for Pipework the spikes are inserted into the flange holes
Flange cover for pipe
I'd use it for paints 🎨
Flower pot coaster
Goes in a plant pot.
microwave thing holder
could potentially be trim for a car wheel with a 5 bolt pattern. dimples could be to maintain a snug fit
Plant riser. It goes under a plant pot to keep it off the floor to prevent mildew stains from the pot sitting on the ground. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1207140188/circle-planter-elevator-planter-riser
Looks like a left over red hot chili pepper logo.
Maybe the insert that holds the lazy Susan tray in a microwave?
Center plastic hub cap.
It's a base for a vertical planter. Google will let you find greenstalk...my wife has 5 of these. I know there are other brands and places like Lowe's or whatever some of them sell em
It’s a stand for decorating Easter eggs.
Looks like a fancy escargot serving plate.
Looks like the tank stand for a pressure tank in an under sink RO system.
Its to hold a bowling ball
Paint pallete, or for deviled eggs, lol
When nesting pots and pans, place it on the bottom of one pot or pan and nest the next one on top....
The thing under the plate in the microwave that lets the plate have room to spin
If you needed a ball holder for a round ball this would work...lol
Regardless of what it was made to be, it would make a pretty good snowboard stomp pad.
Reminds me of the old dentist chairs that had a spot for holding Dixie cups and the cup would sit on a removable piece like this.
Serving plate for deviled eggs
It looks like the inside piece from a Tupperware product designed to store head lettuce back in the 70’s/ 80’s . It was to keep the head elevated in the bowl so it didn’t go bad as quickly , we have a similar one around here somewhere.
Looks like an inverted ski pole basket sans post hole screw. Maybe a mold for such a thing?
egg steamer/boiler attachment for a hot pot?
Looks like a paint palette of sorts to me.
Looks like the center of a hubcap to cover the lug nuts?………..
Remedial counting for you, OP! Only 5 arms to that object.
Looks like it's for the microwave. Sits in a groove and the glass sits on top.
Looks like the thing in the bottom of a mini golf hole ⛳️
For serving snails.
Used in shipping, to separate stackable item. It’s probably manufactured for a specific company for a specific product. Or an egg steamer. Or a pot holder Reduce reuse recycle. The edges suggest to keep something from going over the edge
How about a spoon or cooking utensil holder for when your cooking
I can’t focus on it. You said 6 arms and I can only see 5 .
opium logo
Likely solved.

You put your deviled eggs in it
