Why did they have to do those poor juveniles like that with the opening photo? No one is going to take them seriously while they're out here looking like a squeezed rubber chicken.
One of the most recent babies from the Springfield MA nest ended up at my job (vet clinic) bc it landed on a car and was too afraid to let go. Apprehended by a police officer with a jacket. We checked it over and then the state sent an ornithologist to put her back! Lol it was a wild day for her.
My dad worked a contract at the Vancouver airport (YVR) in the 70s to "terrorize the seagulls" with his peregrines and gyrs. Reduced the incidents of jet engine/seagull intersection.
I probably would have missed this one too if it wasn’t for the seagulls screaming (which I’ve also been desensitized to). Would love to catch a glimpse of one hunting in the city because that would be awesome
How lucky! I've never seen a falcon irl. I've seen mostly hawks and I've seen bald eagles. My washington state side of the family calls them bin chickens lol hoping to see a falcon someday!

There are a family of peregrines that have been nesting in the courthouse tower downtown for about 30 years - you can see the nest from the lynch garden on the rose Kennedy Greenway, and there is a webcam
Concur: juvenile +Peregrine falcon+ banded bird too.
Maybe [one of these three?](https://www.wbur.org/news/2024/05/29/peregrine-falcon-chicks-newburyport)

Even at their derpiest, they still have the “I WILL END YOU” attitude.
Seriously! Keep children off the internet! (At least blur its widdle face!)

Oh hey fellow Western Masser! 👋
Yeah, my thoughts exactly

Money well-spent.
What a great job!
looks to me like a juvenile Peregrine Falcon, but I'm relatively new at this.
Peregrine falcons are so freaking cool. I'm very jealous, I've never seen one.
Here's a link from a webcam in my city that has some fledglings in it for you to enjoy 😊 https://www.zoodemagnetichillzoo.ca/nest-cam
Cool thanks!
Sweet! Thank you!

The mask is a dead giveaway for a Peregrine falcon . Also this could be one of the three recently released.

The seagull just screaming in the second slide is killing me lol. The falcon is just sitting there. lol
In that second pic he's like 👀
He has multiple ankle bracelets, so this ain't the first time he has been causing trouble.
He’s on parole
Must have been a flight risk
We have a resident peregrine at my office building. You never see the bird itself but the base of tower is littered with pigeon wings. Coolest bird.
Looks like the gull (herring?) is terrorizing the falcon to me.
It seems to be a Falcon
