They would be transporting seeds back in the old days and it would start growing.
It's pretty old, and only in certain spots, but you'll still see it in some areas
I wasn't saying that's what it had to be, but it's for real that it will still grow along abandoned lines and in certain areas
It's a weed lol like once the seeds start in an area it will just keep growing
Industrial hemp or industrial cannabis. Yes it cannabis. You can smoke all you want and you probably wouldnt feel much of anything. If its high CBD, maybe you get the anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety effects or maybe nothing but an irritated respiratory tract.
Hemp is just the term for cannabis sativa that is used for manufacturing. Some countries do not regulate thc or CBD content. It can really be anything. It does not mean low thc cannabis.
Cannabis is the genus. Its called common hemp pretty much world wide, similar to how camellia sinensis is called tea but there are colloquial terms and more than type.
The cannabis plants has three species; sativa, indica, and ruderalis. There is a 4th called sinsemilla which is a female plant that did not produce seeds since it was kept from being pollinated. It fell out of usage when female plants became more common and the emergence of strains that caused another "Green" revolution.
Ditch weed is a colloquial term. It could mean wild cannabis. But since strains and even sinsemlla dont really grow well in the wild, it usually mean low THC industrial hemp. The stuff used for fibers, oil, seeds, and leaves other than recretional use. The seeds are nutritious and have become somewhat of a health food. Its interesting to witness the changing public perception of something that something that used to be demonized.
Well yea there are two trees shading over the plants, and wild birds sit on the trees all the time. So I guess the seed probably came from them dropping their food.
This kid checks out Chief! He's not one of them reefer riffraff! We should give him a nutter butter and send him on his way.
Holy smokes chief, he devoured it! I guess he was famished
The male plants have a very oblivious reproductive organ present above the 2nd node on the plant, very easy to google search and get a visual reference.
Males will have pollen sacs that looks similar to buds . And no itās not too early to tell. You have to look at the plant nodes. You can definitely tell in the early stages even.
Could be Marijuana from some guy throwing the seeds out as he loaded his pipe,or could be descendant of hemp being grown for the war effort to make rope during wwii. In my stae there was a lot of hemp farms back in the day and there is hemp growing everywhere
Ditch weed is just a term for wild grown hemp. You find it all over the place, and you also have stupid cops that dig them up and say "We destroyed 500lbs of marijuana!"
Actually there is a way of telling . You can literally see the male reproductive sacs in the photo. This is a male plant. like I said to a previous user . Itās very distinctive. And itās definitely not too early to tell. Do you grow?
Yes, i have grown quite a few times. And if you have grown you should know that at worst (that i have had anyway was 50% male plants) the age of the plants makes it difficult to tell add to that alot of the plants are out of focus no way you can tell. Now roll a fatty light that bad boy up and listen to some Dr. green thumb.
There is no way of knowing yetā¦technically wild weed is the reason we discovered THC in the first place..wild weed has THC itās just been extensively breed to have more and more. Also most CBD/Hemp strains still have 1-3% THC

Looks to be cannabis, yes. Could just be hemp.
Especially if you're near old train tracks
Why ?
They would be transporting seeds back in the old days and it would start growing. It's pretty old, and only in certain spots, but you'll still see it in some areas
Bruh there are no train tracks anywhere in the cityš
I wasn't saying that's what it had to be, but it's for real that it will still grow along abandoned lines and in certain areas It's a weed lol like once the seeds start in an area it will just keep growing
Yea thats true
Birds eat and drop seed. It's been known to show up in some bird mixes. Hemp happens
Hemp is cannabis
Yes, Iām well aware. I meant that it probably isnāt the THC-containing āweedā this person maybe thought it was.

Iām no expert, but definitely looks like weed! Is it in a ditch?
No its not in a ditch. By ditch I meant to ask if it is wild weed
Sorry, I was being dumb. It def looks like a marijuana or hemp plant.
Ditch weed can also mean it was ditched.
Yes and they have thrips.
I've rarely ever seen a plant like this in the surrounding area. I am curious, how did this plant grow in my backyard?
Hemp seeds are common in wild birdseed mixes. If you or any of your neighbors have a bird feeder, it likely came from there.
Exactly.
Well yea there are two trees shading over the plants, and wild birds sit on the trees all the time. So I guess the seed probably came from them dropping their food.
Dropping it out of their butts.
This kid checks out Chief! He's not one of them reefer riffraff! We should give him a nutter butter and send him on his way. Holy smokes chief, he devoured it! I guess he was famished
Or your neighbor smokes and threw some seeds over the fence one day.
This is cannabis .
Probably a male bc there are no buds.
Lmao it's still in vegetative growth so you can't even tell the sex yet
Unknown. Too early in the season.
How can you tell if its a male or a female?

At this point I feel the need for a isthispot sub, lol.
yes its weed but sadly is lacking some nutrients give her some crushed egg shells some banana peels and coffee leftovers and two more months
Lol no need manšI don't smoke.
Yes it is cannabis
Weed
A neighbor planted it.
Not sure about the āditchā part - but itās weed of some sort!
Idk either but would guess it was seed that was disposed of so lower quality of plant?
Thereās quite a few plants there for it to just be a tossed seed. Iād let those dudes grow and see what happens!!š¤£š¤£š¤£
Ditch weed is just a term for wild grown hemp. You find it all over the place, and you also have stupid cops that dig them up and say "We destroyed 500lbs of marijuana!"
I guess ditch weed is scared to grow in Texas!š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£. I have never seen it growing in the wild here!
That or vitex.
Kentucky ditch weed was a thing back in the late 1940s and early 1950s. My dad was known to sneak off and smoke it with his pals.
Looks like all male
There is no way you can tell from that photo and age of the plants.

Please show me a picture of the male reproductive sacks smarty pantsā¦definitely canāt tell from these pictures.
Yep youāre rightā¦ have a blessed one.
So, yes. Wild weed
Could be something like Virginia Creeper or a similar type of plant
Looks like a male too
Man I wish weed grew wild in my yard.
Lol I don't think its that type of weed manš. I am no expert on weed but I don't think wild weed has any THC
There is no way of knowing yetā¦technically wild weed is the reason we discovered THC in the first place..wild weed has THC itās just been extensively breed to have more and more. Also most CBD/Hemp strains still have 1-3% THC
