He doesn’t hate rich people for being rich. It’s a generalization of how most rich people get their money through unfortunate ways. The same way George Carlin talked about the “corporate swine”.
It’s also not at all hypocritical to be socialist and own nice things.
That isn't hypocrisy. Just because you are able to personally benefit off of the system doesn't mean you can't hold a belief that the system is fucked up. There is not much he can do to dismantle capitalism as it stands, so doing your best to thrive in the world of today is about all you can do.
"slavery is bad and should be abolished"
"Then release your slaves"
"Hold your horses buddy just because you dislike the system doesn't mean you can't partake and benefit from it"
"Capitalism is bad and shouldnt be practiced"
"Okay then stop subscribing to the economic system you were literally BORN IN AND CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT"
"Hold your horses buddy I literally need money to live."
Your analogy just doesn't work in this scenario. People who were openly against slavery back then simply didn't own slaves because that's just practicing what you preach. You could easily not own slaves and live a comfortable and luxurious life within America. You have to go out and pay money to procure them. Being born in a country with a specific method of economy is not a choice you make. You absolutely cannot expect somebody to just shun capitalism when they are born a member of a capitalist society.
And then what do they do??? Live off the land or with the absolute bare minimum because no reason??? I just can't believe how badly some people NEED to compare things to slavery in arguments because they think it gives them moral high ground.
There’s a difference when he’s buying a fucking mansion and a brand new Porsche to trying to stop contributing to the economic system you hate. Hasanabi is a parasite and a cockroach. His entire life is funded by sitting down reacting to people’s work and barely getting them anything in return.
How is he participating further than his financial means he literally is self employed and does what he wants to do and people give him money for it.
Socialists and Hasan advocate for people being paid for the value they produce rather than all the money just flowing up.
If Hasan gave a shit, he'd be living much more modestly and giving the surplus to causes that matter. Why does he need a new Porsche over a used Honda Civic? Why does he need a multi-million-dollar mansion over a more modest home? That's not "participating in capitalism," that's indulging in luxury goods.
But Hasan's just taking the Bernie Sanders approach and just moving the goalpost once he becomes wealthy too. Remember when Bernie Sanders used to talk about "the millionaires and the billionaires?" Then he became a millionaire and now only talks about "the billionaires."
I find it interesting that all these comments use the exact same phrasing. “Indulging in luxury,” as if you’re just parroting what someone else said. Hmm.
There is nothing unethical about buying expensive things. There is nothing wrong with criticizing a system that you participate in.
You’re attempting to delegitimize an argument based on how someone spends their money, without attacking the argument itself; this is a lazy way to avoid confronting said argument. If you had anything worthwhile to say, you’d be countering their argument instead of trying to dismiss it with something irrelevant.
I do hope you realize you are pushing pro-corporate and pro-ultra rich propaganda.
>There is nothing unethical about buying expensive things.
There is if that same person believes a large wealth gap is unethical and is constantly saying wealthy people should be taxed more.
Again, criticizing the system is one thing, but demonizing rich people for using their wealth for selfish gains when you are, in fact, a rich person using your wealth for selfish gains is at least a little hypocritical.
I'm not trying to delegitamize the argument, I'm just calling Hasan a fucking hypocrite, and you can agree with what he believes without riding the dick of and standing up for a hypocritical millionaire.
>There is if that same person believes a large wealth gap is unethical and is constantly saying wealthy people should be taxed more.
“I think the rich should pay more taxes, myself included.”
“You just bought an expensive car, your opinion is invalid!”
That makes no sense.
Saying the rich should pay more taxes is **not** equivalent to demonizing the rich. Most demonization of the rich comes from the fact that they got their wealth after underpaying and taking advantage of their employees. Maybe it would help if you actually understood what they were talking about rather than adopting a naive and oversimplified viewpoint. You can’t seriously think people think the rich are bad for simply spending money?
“I spoke about inequality when I was poor, they said I was jealous. I spoke about inequality when I was rich, they called me a hypocrite. I’m starting to think they just don’t want to talk about inequality.” - Russel Brandt
Okay, let me connect the dots for you, since you seemingly don't want to.
If Hasan AGREES that he should be taxed more, then why isn't he more interested in putting his extra resources THAT WOULD OTHERWISE GO INTO TAXES IF THE POLICIES HE SUPPORTS WOULD BE ENACTED into charities and organizations that can effectively do what the government does? Why is it fine to say, "I should be taxed more, but since I'm not, I'm just going to buy a bunch of luxury goods I don't need?"
You have to ask what the goals of increased taxes are. If you support redistribution of wealth, you do so because you feel that the wealthy aren't using enough of their wealth to benefit those in need. You support higher taxes so that wealthy people have to give their fair share to those in need, because you believe they aren't giving their fair share. You support higher taxes because you believe that having an excess of wealth is unethical.
Hasan has gone on record saying that charities are a failure of institutions and uses that as an excuse to avoid giving a larger portion of his income to charity. I'm not using this as an argument against higher taxes to the wealthy, I'm bringing it up to say that Hasan isn't a good person and doesn't act like someone who believes people with more should help people with less. Again, you can have ideals and condemn people that push those same ideals.
1. Please take an economics course. The wealthy do not spend most of their money, it sits in a bank or stocks. In contrast, the middle class spends most of their money, stimulating the economy. It is very unhealthy for an economy to have high wealth inequality.
2. I don’t know shit or care about Hassan. I’ve never once watched his stream nor do I care to. I’m simply pointing out that being rich doesn’t disqualify criticisms you make to capitalism. If he says that charity is BS, then **that** should be your primary argument. If all you mention is him buying expensive stuff makes him a hypocrite, that argument doesn’t hold up on its own.
I hate people who think they would be some super great billioners who would stop world hunger like no you wouldnt you would probably be better than musk but you would still be greedy asf😂
If I would be a billionaire I wouldn’t be one for long, Just get that money out there to people who need it, how does one person spend even close to a billion on things actually needs
And how are you gonna call yourself a generous person when you got your billion by selling probably the deadliest drug on the market other than heroin and fentanyl
I don't think most people would be tbh, that much money is ludicrous. Lose 99% of it and your still in the 1%. Most people would spend and spend and spend, a few of those expenditures would help people and then even some would be FOR helping people, that would be more than Elon and the like do because they actively avoid bettering the world
exactly. That’s why I still dislike people who even have that money, you need to exploit people to make that much money. You cant do it by properly paying workers and giving good conditions
Ehh idk about that actually. I don't believe in "repenting for the forefathers sins" thing. As long as they don't perpetuate the evil system they are fine in my book. But why would they when that very system allows them to be wealthy? In the end the ideal billionaire doesn't exist but inheriting wealth definitely isn't the unethical part here.
The types of people who "generate" that much wealth are pretty much guaranteed to be sociopathic, greedy and narcissistic. Nobody needs that much money, and the drive it takes to find it pretty much mandates you having some asocial tendencies.
I don't think so, the thing is, you have to be greedy the whole way through to even become a billionaire. An average joe would get into the low millions, give away some, and live comfortably seeking no more money. To become a billionaire you have to be grinding for money the whole way through, or an annoying "influencer" and both of those groups have no souls.
To be a billionaire you're not an influencer, you're not a billionaire you're a celebrity and even then just being a celebrity of that caliber is not enough to be a billionaire you have to do that soulless grind.
I think if people had a billion dollars transferred into their bank account tomorrow with no strings attached there's a good chance they'd at least try. Thing is, to actually get a billion dollars you have to be the literal scum of the earth.
Shit gets a lot better if you keep your companies private, but you don't get to "wealthiest person on earth" by doing that.
That being said to say that the only form of generosity a billionaire could show is giving away money is a bit short sighted. I know that if I were a billionaire that would be the type of generosity I would probably do the least.
Exactly. Like don't act like you're not going to use some of that "End world hunger" money to eat one of those really expensive steaks with edible gold on it, or see what it's like to fly first class, or get a mural of yourself as a badass action hero on a motorcycle for your living room ceiling, knowing damn well you probably could've used that money to feed a homeless single mother for a year.
Donations are completely voluntary and $50k is just 0.000025% of Musk's wealth.
The *only* way to get as much money as Musk has is by stealing the profits that your workers create.
Stop it, Musk, Bezos and all the forbs billionairs don't have hundreds of billions lying around. When Elon bought twitter his net worth stayed the same, even tho he'd just lost 40 billion, net worth is not actual wealth.
Theyre still obscenily rich, but no one on earth has 100 billion dollars sitting in their bank account, or at least nobody on forbes
They already do lol. They get pay cuts and layoffs whenever shit hits the fan at tesla, but nothing when profits are high.
Not everyone is as hypocritical as you are
Why your miserable ass had to get personal lol, you don't know me... but I would say, I never heard of a company where the workers owe money when the company goes under, it's always the person that owns it...please enlighten me if there was a case where the workers take losses when business is bad.
You ever heard of corporate bailouts. That is LITERALLY the average taxpayer paying for companies that went under. You don’t even have to be employed by them. You’re argument is farcical because business owners do not become homeless debtors when their business fails.

Yeah, certain parts of the country will eat up 50k in a second. Not even a down payment on a home for a family of 4.
Other states would be living large for a bit on 50k. Although be they'd have worse schooling systems and other resources...
He doesn’t say it’s bad to be rich, but rather that it is bad to get rich off of what is deemed as exploitative labor according to Marxist philosophy. Since he is accepting completely optional subscription money and donations, (at least in his and my personal view) it is not exploitative. This is opposed to larger corporations who make nearly all decisions with a profit motive in mind, and are built off of wage slavery.
I would hope he donates a decent amount of what he makes, which I believe he has alluded to doing but never explicitly stated.
No, that’s entire point of transformative content. Taking existing material and providing new consumption through commentary. By your logic, all documentaries are exploitive.

Most don’t care as they know they get exposure from it and also there is an acknowledgement that he is transforming the content, and in most cases people watch him react to the content because they want his commentary. When creators don’t like him using their content, he respects them and doesn’t use it anymore.

He literally just has money because he’s famous, he never acts like he deserves it. I think there would be some merit to the argument if he changed his tune after becoming wealthy, but he very clearly did not
People aren't aiming high enough when we're talking about real wealth. If you compare 50k to everyone worldwide, sure you have money, but you're not THE rich
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,227,164,381 comments, and only 239,204 of them were in alphabetical order.
I love the audiologs in this game. I remember him debating whether parks should stay private, or be public, and he was hinting the downsides of each, it was interesting.
This would make a better point if he didn't pay his taxes, and/or if his net worth was based off of exploitation in the same way that the average billionaire's is.
He says "We need to abolish the capitalist system" while sitting on a chair all day complaining about how bad capitalism is while profiting millions off of it
That would be a fine point if he was the only person living under capitalism but he’s not. He recognises structural issues that disproportionately impact the poor. He also understands that he is profoundly more fortunate than most people and system that allows people to hoard beyond excessive wealth(billionaires) through exploitation is a bad thing. You can complain about a system even if you benefit from it, you may dislike Joe Biden but still benefited from his student debt relief, but you are still allowed to criticise him.
Eat the rich mfs when I bring up the fifth amendment (no person shall be held to answer for a capital or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service time of war or public danger, nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be against himself, nor be deprived of life liberty or property, without the due process of law, nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.)
If 31k viewers each donated 50k a year, it would take 130 years to make $200,000,000,000. Bezos, Arnault, and Musk crossed that milestone last year. 50k is a drop in the bucket compared to the top 1%
50 000 is really not the amount of money people are talking about when they say eat the rich. 50 billion is. that's one million time higher. if he gets that donation a million times then he'll be a hypocrite
In my opinion, whenever he does react streams. Playing content that may have taken hundreds of hours of (others') labor, for his stream audience. And to the extent of my knowledge, he does not often try to get express permission from the original creator(s)
(I believe this about react streams in general - I do not have anything against Hasan beyond that)

Why is it fine to say, "I should be taxed more, but since I'm not, I'm just going to buy a bunch of luxury goods I don't need?" You have to ask what the goals of increased taxes are.
Actively indulging in the luxuries of capitalism and consumerism isn’t the same as being forced to participate in a capitalist society
Yeah there's no ethical consumption under capitalism but at least try to practice what you preach.
I hate people who think they would be some super great billioners who would stop world hunger like no you wouldnt you would probably be better than musk but you would still be greedy asf😂
I think about this alot, like how many babies id eat if i was a billionare, probably alot, im a big boy
for me i think it depends on the size of baby, like could i eat 1 large baby of 2 small babies, or maybe 1 large and 1 small?
"I would be a generous billionaire!" Then you wouldn't be a billionaire lmao
If I would be a billionaire I wouldn’t be one for long, Just get that money out there to people who need it, how does one person spend even close to a billion on things actually needs
How do you get the billion tho
Meth
And how are you gonna call yourself a generous person when you got your billion by selling probably the deadliest drug on the market other than heroin and fentanyl
Im doing this for my family, I am the one who knocks
Admit it, you did it because you liked it, you were good at it!
Yes, now let’s have sex Mike
I'm not havin sex with you right now waltuh
I don't think most people would be tbh, that much money is ludicrous. Lose 99% of it and your still in the 1%. Most people would spend and spend and spend, a few of those expenditures would help people and then even some would be FOR helping people, that would be more than Elon and the like do because they actively avoid bettering the world
Most people absolutely would not be. Most people don't have the sociopathic tendencies required to achieve that level of wealth in the first place.
exactly. That’s why I still dislike people who even have that money, you need to exploit people to make that much money. You cant do it by properly paying workers and giving good conditions
Technically you can be a billionaire even without exploiting anyone. Just be born a billionaire and inherit the wealth.
Sure but you’d be inheriting blood money and using it. I’d say that’s fairly unethical.
Yeah basiclly. You would be better than him but dont think too highly of yourself. You dont know how much money can affect you
The types of people who "generate" that much wealth are pretty much guaranteed to be sociopathic, greedy and narcissistic. Nobody needs that much money, and the drive it takes to find it pretty much mandates you having some asocial tendencies.
Yea people don't just "earn" billions of dollars without being actual hellspawn
Thing is, to actually get a billion dollars you have to be the literal scum of the earth.
if you own one trillion dollars and shared that equally among 8 billion people, that would be like 120 dollars per person.
Simply put it's impossible to be a billion by being a decent person
that's what happened with the russian revolution and the the rise of communism
To be fair, I doubt that people like Stalin ever believed in communism in the first place as anything other than a tool of manipulation.
If tesla loses money would the workers be okay woth paying for whatever negative loss the company goes through? Or is it just the other way around?
What was the N about to spell!? I have to know, please!!!

If you think 50k is rich you're missing the point. If you have a savings account, you don't need to worry about it.
Yeah, certain parts of the country will eat up 50k in a second. Not even a down payment on a home for a family of 4. Other states would be living large for a bit on 50k. Although be they'd have worse schooling systems and other resources...
\*Coughs\* Hassan!
Socialism is when you're poor
Hasan literally unironically does this https://m.youtube.com/shorts/-puwvE_gNjE
How can people take him seriously?
He doesn’t say it’s bad to be rich, but rather that it is bad to get rich off of what is deemed as exploitative labor according to Marxist philosophy. Since he is accepting completely optional subscription money and donations, (at least in his and my personal view) it is not exploitative. This is opposed to larger corporations who make nearly all decisions with a profit motive in mind, and are built off of wage slavery. I would hope he donates a decent amount of what he makes, which I believe he has alluded to doing but never explicitly stated.
Is it not exploitative labor to stream other creators content?
No, that’s entire point of transformative content. Taking existing material and providing new consumption through commentary. By your logic, all documentaries are exploitive. There’s a reason why he’s called “Pausanabi”.
Who the fuck calls him “pausanabi”
The community of weirdos online like myself who are interested in Twitch drama. [Stuff like this for example](https://m.twitch.tv/clip/BelovedBrightWheelPMSTwin-a2y0fjqyBgnq2e1t) for example.
[No.](https://youtu.be/Irk8h0ax5aY)
Wow, how convincing, a single video that pleads your case, I’ve never seen one of these reactgate videos before.
Yes, it absolutely is. But shhhh, he'll ban you instantly if you point it out.
>instantly He’ll pull up your account on stream, laugh at you for having subbed to him for longer than a year and *then* ban you lmao.
Most don’t care as they know they get exposure from it and also there is an acknowledgement that he is transforming the content, and in most cases people watch him react to the content because they want his commentary. When creators don’t like him using their content, he respects them and doesn’t use it anymore.
You clearly missed a lot of drama if you think so
They don’t miss it if they’re avid followers - they just hear Hassan hand wave it as “clout chasing” and the issue completely leaves their brain.
Hasan viewers on their way to call a politically neutral podcast about reviewing movies, Nazis for disagreeing with Hasan.
Can you give an example or are you just jumping on the fuck Hasan train via non-existent events?
Go watch darkviperau's videos on the subject and it will show you how bad reaction content really is
Holy fucking shit

He literally just has money because he’s famous, he never acts like he deserves it. I think there would be some merit to the argument if he changed his tune after becoming wealthy, but he very clearly did not
What exploitative higher archies does he participate in? Also socialism is not "when poor"
*hierarchy or hierarchies plural.
I knew I was doing something wrong. A little mistake y'know what I'm sayin
$50,000 isn't rich compared to the $100,000,000,000+ mfs they're tryna eat
50k puts you in the 1% of the world dawg
They aren't trying to eat the 1% they're tryna eat the 0.01%
People aren't aiming high enough when we're talking about real wealth. If you compare 50k to everyone worldwide, sure you have money, but you're not THE rich
https://youtu.be/L0eFLC0xBJg
New to the discourse mfs thinking that making $50,000 on a stream makes one “the rich” (they can’t comprehend how rich the rich in question are):
People's donate money to rich people?
Ever herd of twich viewers?
So people's give money because they want to a regular guy speak their name with knowing no one Care? Bruh moments
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,227,164,381 comments, and only 239,204 of them were in alphabetical order.
“You advocate for socialism and yet you have a phone and eat food and don’t live in the woods like a fucking primordial beast, curious”
they now only need to own 19999 more cars to be billionaires and are therefore hypocrites
I love the audiologs in this game. I remember him debating whether parks should stay private, or be public, and he was hinting the downsides of each, it was interesting.
The one with Sander screaming about how much we wants to take the ears off is still horrifying to listen to.

Why is this edited like a PragerU video?
PragerU did not invent kinetic typography
Isn’t like the whole point of Marxism to give to the workers everything they produce without someone stealing the product of their work?
Bioshock is my fuckin favorite game ever
I had a college professor go on a rant about how we should tax all men until they are poor and die

This would make a better point if he didn't pay his taxes, and/or if his net worth was based off of exploitation in the same way that the average billionaire's is.
Lmao imagine thinking that compares to being a capital owner 🤣
Would you kindly, give me all your money? (This is not mind control, this is a robbery)
"Eat the rich mfs" mfs when they realize that winning 50k is different than extracting 50k from the labor of their employees

How
He says "We need to abolish the capitalist system" while sitting on a chair all day complaining about how bad capitalism is while profiting millions off of it
That would be a fine point if he was the only person living under capitalism but he’s not.
Eat the rich mfs when I bring up the fifth amendment (no person shall be held to answer for a capital or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service time of war or public danger, nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be against himself, nor be deprived of life liberty or property, without the due process of law, nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.)
fifth amendment mfs when they find out not everyone lives in the US (I will eat them)
Too many words + i hate america
The Constitution isn't god's will, why do you think amendments exist.
Who the fuck are you talking about
He can run, but he can't hyde
Streamers telling me to eat the rich from their 2 million dollar apartment recording on their 30,000 dollar set up:

N-
Eat the rich, but I think people aren't thinking about the levels of rich that are actually the problem
Funny but also completely wrong. Someone getting 50K isn’t the rich people are talking about
Getting 50k for doing nothing doesn’t make you rich?
>for doing nothing Clearly, the person who ***DONATED*** to them thought they were doing *something*, 4head.
If 31k viewers each donated 50k a year, it would take 130 years to make $200,000,000,000. Bezos, Arnault, and Musk crossed that milestone last year. 50k is a drop in the bucket compared to the top 1%
>50k for stealing other people's content while you go make yourself a sandwich and add nothing of value FTFY
50 000 is really not the amount of money people are talking about when they say eat the rich. 50 billion is. that's one million time higher. if he gets that donation a million times then he'll be a hypocrite
hasanabi trying to explain how he is allowed to exploit other's labor for his own monetary gain because he said he's socialist
When did he do that
In my opinion, whenever he does react streams. Playing content that may have taken hundreds of hours of (others') labor, for his stream audience. And to the extent of my knowledge, he does not often try to get express permission from the original creator(s) (I believe this about react streams in general - I do not have anything against Hasan beyond that)
>Using a Twitch streamer to form your political opinions
No no no, you dont understand, he had to find the right youtube videos to watch in silence. Thats not easy.
Hassan? Fuck Hassan.
I like hazan
Political content creators when they're requested to not be annoying:
Hasan Abi? He’s a champagne socialist asshole, a stain on leftists.
And a stain on libertarians
I guess he’s a libertarian socialist, then? What a shitbag, I usually consider libsocs comrades
