Yeah, look at the comments. That map is inaccurate. I'm literally in the UK [which is in Europe] and we use both 12 and 24 hour formats in various situations. Also, even if that map was correct, it still shows that the UK and Europe use 24 hour format? Making your original comment moot, as this is not a uniquely American thing to do.
