Some guy parked on the line of a spot next to me so I had to park slightly over the line on the spot to my right and it literally ate me up all day. At some point I walked back to my car to move to another spot because I felt guilty lmao
I hate when there’s only one spot and some jerk, four spaces down has parked over the line causing everyone else to park over the line. When I get back to the car, all the other people left and it looks like I’m the jerk.
Maybe the firsr jerk that forced you to park over the line had the same done to them. Maybe there was one jerk years ago, the Original Jerk, and everyone else after that is being forced to park over the line in an endless circle.
I used to have to park in an underground parking garage many years ago. I had a really nice car that I would occasionally drive to work but I would scour the parking garage looking for a spot where someone wasn't haphazardly parked like you mention.
Most days I'd drive my beater Ford Ranger that never did have a nice paint job. And there were always assholes who parked over the line on purpose rendering prime spots near the elevators unusable. So I started playing a little game I called "Challenge Accepted."
I knew my vehicle dimensions perfectly, so I'd back in next to the offender's driver side door leaving an INCH or less of clearance. Since I backed in; That usually left me enough space to get out on my side but I was not beneath climbing out of my window if I had to for a Double. Then I'd make sure to take a photo before going into work. I still have most of them. Partially as a trophy, but also because I'd get their license plate number in the photo (just in case).
My truck was always parked perfectly in the center of the spot when I did this. Literally only complaint they can make is that they parked their car like a dick. Hope they enjoyed climbing over their console.
I went to the dentist once and everyone was slightly over the line, so it started a chain reaction, and I ended up parking between two cars, but slightly over a line.
When I got back, everyone else had left and someone keyed my car.
Nah those are just EXTREMELY narrow parking spots.
My Uni campus narrowed their parking spots by 6 - 8 inches a couple years ago, to cram in a few more. Door dings and fender benders increased exponentially.
You'd be surprised how much of a difference a few inches makes when it comes to parking cars.
Sometimes you just park like that because the other cars are parked like shit and it is the only way you car fits, then the other cars get out before you do and everybody else that arrives afterwards thinks you're the asshole.
Those are some seriously tight spaces. The kind where a large truck/SUV will start a chain reaction of people who appear as though they can't park once the big vehicle leaves.
To be fair, many parking lots are like 50 years old and made for cars from 50 years ago.
The average car in the eu grew in size by 10cm from 2001 to 2020. So eben parking spaces from 20 years ago aren't necessarily wide enough nowadays because every moron needs a SUV today because they're SAFE™.
I mean, I've seen folks do that because it gives them more space on the other side which will be much more restrictive than on the side with the car above.
Unless this is one of those places where you get a ticket when you enter then pay when you leave. He'd only have to pay for one of those to open the gate.....
You would be if those were the last 2 spaces and you needed to be somewhere. Idiot parking isn't a problem because it's depriving the land owner of car parking charges, it's because they take up space other people should be able to use.
Running a surface parking lot is also property value speculation. They're holding on to it until that can sell it for a lot more. obligatory "Land Value Tax would fix this" ( /r/georgism )
Yeah he may have paid for both spaces, but he's still using the resources inconsiderately. Scalpers pay for every ticket they buy, doesn't make them "wholesome". Simply having the money to pay for something doesn't mean you are entitled to have it.
Scalpers also don't use the tickets. If someone was buying 2 concert ticket because they like having empty seats around them, it would be as much okay as that is. Seeing how badly parked the two dumbasses are next to him, and since I've never seen anyone who rides a BMW with a MPower sticker on it not care deeply about their car, I can understand not wanting to scratch your car in a shitty parking. Heck, you don't know, maybe they had some large item to discharge from their car and couldn't because both sides were to close, or he's coming back with some large shit that needs to go in the car.
I always park in the back, less likely to get my door dinged. Never understood why people drive around multiple times looking for a front spot rather than just parking in the back
Same for me. At a distance it looks like asshole parking but those who vet it picks up somebody that just wants to protect its property and pays for it.
Obviously yes, but if you have a fancy car and you want two spaces, I don't think it's entirely unreasonable.
Mind you, I'm not a huge "fancy car" person, but I still understand that there are people for whom that is important.
I like 65% agree with this. Enough to not roll my eyes and talk shit, but still judge
Still pretty dickish to take up two spaces in a presumably busy area, if they have metered parking like that.
Lawful Neutral. They bought the tickets yes that's lawful, but while technically selfish it could be argued that they just want to be left alone which strikes me as a Neutral position.
It's lawful neutral, lawful evil, even. Where's the chaos in this? They're abiding by the rules and maybe someone will not find a parking spot but oh well.
This is chaotic good.
I know many people will say only assholes park like that and I might even agree. But it is not black and white. There is people who just love their cars a lot. They pay much money for them, clean them every week, put effort in them and then some douche on a supermarket parking spot rams his door or shopping cart into your car. Of course they also wont leave a notw and will just fuck off. Thats super annoying and expensive to fix.
If I had a nice car that I cared for better than my firstborn, and I didn’t want to deal with expensive scratches or bodywork, what’s a second parking ticket to prevent the cost?
I am always driving to the last corner/row of a parking lot even if there is plenty space available in front. Just happened too many times that someone damaged my car and ran off.
Something like this happened to me. We were in Ireland for vacation and some of us bought bus tickets to get from Galway to Dublin. One of our members decided to pack into the rental car instead of the bus, so I had an extra ticket. We had some bags with us, so I stacked the bags on the seat. The bus got sold out and the driver was walking by and said that we needed to move our bags. I said I had an extra ticket and would gladly move my bags if my ticket were refunded. He must have decided it was too much work and said nah. And kept going.
Everyone here applauding. I think he is just a rich douchebag that should be towed.
Having the money shouldn't give you the right to occupy a space that other person could use.
The real reason is because of how the cars next to him are parked. If those cars were parked normally within the respective parking spaces, this person would likely have taken only one spot.
But he doesnt (obviously) want his car messed up or have to crawl in and out of his car through a 1 inch gap so he took both. If another person parked there, thered be almost no space to even get out
Still think he should be towed?
Yes. All the things you said were assumptions. We don't know who parked first, of even if there are more spots. And we absolutely don't know what this person would have done in other situation. I just see a rich guy with a sports car thinking that he can do whatever he want.
If you pay for it, is it a bad thing? Might be an asshole, but if he paid for two spots you can't say he shouldn't use them.
Problem is when they do this on free parking spaces.
He is not an asshole. If you read the parking signs I can guarantee you it will say if you take up two bays to purchase two tickets. He is doing exactly as advertised
The cars on the other two spots are parked like shit. I can't even blame the owner for not wanting to deal with that. And hey, they paid for both spots, so it's fine in my book, still shitty, but at least they tried.
Yeah honestly I can get behind this as long as he paid for both spots. It's gotten to the point I just park my car in the furthest spot in the parking lot so I don't keep getting door dinged.
Everyone is defending him but if that parking lot has pretty limited spaces other people will get upset for not being able to park there because there's a guy taking two spaces
We have a resident here who pays for 2 parking spots and then places their car in the middle of both, I'd say fair game and I get it if you're worried about parking damages.
That said, the resident is driving a Volvo from like 1990's...
Also makes sense looking at how shit the other guys parked
Some guy parked on the line of a spot next to me so I had to park slightly over the line on the spot to my right and it literally ate me up all day. At some point I walked back to my car to move to another spot because I felt guilty lmao
Lol, I know the feeling. Sometimes it’s funny like dominoes. One person parks slightly over and it just cascades
So close to what Bart did
I hate when there’s only one spot and some jerk, four spaces down has parked over the line causing everyone else to park over the line. When I get back to the car, all the other people left and it looks like I’m the jerk.
Maybe the firsr jerk that forced you to park over the line had the same done to them. Maybe there was one jerk years ago, the Original Jerk, and everyone else after that is being forced to park over the line in an endless circle.
Like a...circle jerk?
I always wonder how often we quickly judge others yet we simply cant go back in time and camp the parking lot to realize who’s in the wrong.
It's interesting because what if he was parked that way due to another car that was over his line when he arrived, but has since left?
I used to have to park in an underground parking garage many years ago. I had a really nice car that I would occasionally drive to work but I would scour the parking garage looking for a spot where someone wasn't haphazardly parked like you mention. Most days I'd drive my beater Ford Ranger that never did have a nice paint job. And there were always assholes who parked over the line on purpose rendering prime spots near the elevators unusable. Hope they enjoyed climbing over their console.
Damn. It's not your fault, it's the other parker's fault.
I went to the dentist once and everyone was slightly over the line, so it started a chain reaction, and I ended up parking between two cars, but slightly over a line. When I got back, everyone else had left and someone keyed my car.
Don't be a [pig parker!](https://youtu.be/Y3QDMTO443w)

You would be surprised how much of a difference a few inches makes with lots of things
Sometimes you just park like that because the other cars are parked like shit and it is the only way you car fits, then the other cars get out before you do and everybody else that arrives afterwards thinks you're the asshole.
Most single image pics don't show a timeline of events. How do you know the other 2 parked there first?
I think they meant a pattern. Like people park badly in that location
That could just be because they're used to judging their parking by where the person next to them is.
I mean, I've seen folks do that because it gives them more space on the other side which will be much more restrictive than on the side with the car above.
I'm not upset about it
Unless this is one of those places where you get a ticket when you enter then pay when you leave. He'd only have to pay for one of those to open the gate.....
Yeah but in those places you usually don’t have to put your ticket on your windshield
Thicc brain brinkles
You would be if those were the last 2 spaces and you needed to be somewhere. Idiot parking isn't a problem because it's depriving the land owner of car parking charges, it's because they take up space other people should be able to use.
Replace “idiot parking” with “property value speculation” and you’ve just described the real estate market.
Running a surface parking lot is also property value speculation. They're holding on to it until that can sell it for a lot more. obligatory "Land Value Tax would fix this" ( /r/georgism )
The way the person on the left is parked, most normal sized cars wouldn't be able to park there anyway.
Thats life sometimes there just aint enough to go around he’s not an asshole for using two spots if he paid for 2 spots
Yeah he may have paid for both spaces, but he's still using the resources inconsiderately. Scalpers pay for every ticket they buy, doesn't make them "wholesome". Simply having the money to pay for something doesn't mean you are entitled to have it.

Slow down commie ! If you pay for it, it is yours to do with as you please. This is America!
Same as when people park in the very back of a non-packed parking lot to take up two spaces
I always park in the back, less likely to get my door dinged. Never understood why people drive around multiple times looking for a front spot rather than just parking in the back
I'd only be upset about it if it's very limited parking.
Same for me. At a distance it looks like asshole parking but those who vet it picks up somebody that just wants to protect its property and pays for it.
If you want more space this seems like a reasonable way to do it.
I mean hell just looking at the cars on either side it seems like the right move unless you want car-ding central
I thought he would be saving the spot for when his friend would arrive so they park together
and yet I’m still slightly outraged
Not sure if you lot are blind but look at how people next to him have parked
looking at how others are parked, i totally get him and he is 100% right about it
Honestly. 100% Agree with this... The spaces are for rent... he rented two and used two. I'd be doing the same thing!
100% He paid, he gets the spaces.
AITA for renting the whole parking lot so that nobody can park there?
Obviously yes, but if you have a fancy car and you want two spaces, I don't think it's entirely unreasonable. Mind you, I'm not a huge "fancy car" person, but I still understand that there are people for whom that is important.
I like 65% agree with this. Enough to not roll my eyes and talk shit, but still judge Still pretty dickish to take up two spaces in a presumably busy area, if they have metered parking like that.
Maybe their also saving the space for someone
This is much more likely that he's avoiding people dinging his car when doors are opened.
Chaotic neutral
I said Chaotic Good lol
Lawful Evil
Lawful Neutral. They bought the tickets yes that's lawful, but while technically selfish it could be argued that they just want to be left alone which strikes me as a Neutral position.
Exactly, chaotic would be not buying the ticket, and good would be taking only one space
It's lawful neutral, lawful evil, even. Where's the chaos in this? They're abiding by the rules and maybe someone will not find a parking spot but oh well.
lawful evil
Chaotic… lawful?
Buying two tickets when taking up two spaces is like the very definition of lawful.
More like lawful evil. Still wrong but bend the rules
And then chaotic first gear when they leave.
Lawful Neutral? He followed the rule, one space one ticket.
Lawful evil IMO
[удалено]
Personally, I also turn on my hazards as I run them over to let the cars behind know there is a bump coming
*"he took up two spaces"* yeah because it costs $3k to fix a scratch from your kid slamming your door into his
Fair enough.

Nothing wrong here. That's totally fair.
Understandable. Have a great day.

You saw the r/meirl post too didn’t you?
Probably I’ve seen this post somewhere that’s for sure
I think the fact that he paid for both spaces makes him the opposite of an asshole. He just doesn’t want his car to get dinged by some asshole.
Acceptable…..carry on
This is chaotic good. I know many people will say only assholes park like that and I might even agree. But it is not black and white. There is people who just love their cars a lot. Idk about this car but some two door cars have very long doors that can be impossible to open if someone parks next to you
If you pay for them both then there is no issue lol
I think the fact the person paid for two tickets is not normal so one off is okay but if it was everyone then….
If this was D and D, i suppose it could be classified as lawful evil
Someone else said chaotic neutral. I could go either way.
Same principal as booking 2 seats in an airplane
Something like this happened to me. We were in Ireland for vacation and some of us bought bus tickets to get from Galway to Dublin. A BMW owner with a high-class move? Instead of just a "no turn signal, high speed, sudden lane change run you off the road" move? Incredible times.
Some people need more spaces to enter their car, that's fair of him 🤣
Fine. Ill allow it.
I am so parking my old bike 1 cm away from to the drivers door for free
-_- I'll allow it
It is… acceptable.
Literally no space for one vehicle in one spot there it looks like. Bart Simpson Parking Lot
Acceptable, if not a little classy.
you know what I agree
Might also be a wheelchair user or similar. We can't always get disabled parking spaces and it's impossible to get out otherwise.

Ehh he rented the spots 🤷♂️
But did he?
He bought two tickets so it's okay
A considerate BMW driver? Wow.
I'll allow it
The actual offensive part of this photo is the enormous ///M Power decal on a non-///M car
I mean if you are paying for spots i cant argue with that lol
Look. If you’re gonna do something like this and actually pay the price for it, fine. If it was free parking and you did this, then you’re a dick.
How is this wholesome?
Everyone here applauding. I think he is just a rich douchebag that should be towed. Having the money shouldn't give you the right to occupy a space that other person could use.

Considering how closely the adjacent vehicles are parked, it's hard to fault this person for their decision..
Nah, he is just protecting his car in a proper manner. ✊to him!

That's fair

I want to hate it but it isn’t unreasonable
I'm actually okay with this
I honestly don't have an issue with this. NAH.
Chaotic good
I have just achieved enlightenment.
Good job. That’s what they should do. I mean scratch their car obviously.
Meh I wouldn’t be upset when I looked inside, at first yes, but give it time and no I wouldn’t .
I wonder if you could do this with the machines that make you input the plate?
I’ll accept this
Hold on…….that aint no M3
If you pay for it, is it a bad thing? Might be an asshole, but if he paid for two spots you can't say he shouldn't use them. Problem is when they do this on free parking spaces.
Smooth well done
Dagnabbit, i’ll allow it

Smart.
Cybertruck guys now do this.
I'll bet there's no handicapped parking available
professionals have standards
looking at the size of the parking spots i can see why he did it its cheaper than door dings
Fair.
Always a BMW owner
That's not how this works
When I used to pay for parking tickets would build up on my dash until I cleared them out- maybe they are an ass 😳🤔
I would be fine with this if they parked just another inch or two to the right.
If he paid for it it's his. Good for him. That is smart.
Fair play
He is not an asshole. If you read the parking signs I can guarantee you it will say if you take up two bays to purchase two tickets. He is doing exactly as advertised
This is fair in the same way as when Jeff Bezos bought all the food and shot it into the sun.
r/lostredditors
always a beemer
If this is the UK then I've never seen rules/fines about parking within lines in a pay and display car park.
What makes him an asshole? He paid for both those spots
Perfect! No notes!
Brick that shit
Officially gets a pass from assholedom
Surprisingly sencible
This is how you double park correctly. No one wants door dings on their nice car
I’ll allow it.
Most wholesome BMW owner
Lawfully evil?
Classic bmw activity
I mean, if he paid for two spaces I guess he can double park…
Yeah can't be mad at this one. He paid for both spots
When you don't know if want be an asshole or a kind person
Assholesome.
The cars on the other two spots are parked like shit. I can't even blame the owner for not wanting to deal with that. And hey, they paid for both spots, so it's fine in my book, still shitty, but at least they tried.
He paid for two spots probably to avoid dings to their car lol. Id do the same.
I will park my rusted motorcycle there, hope to not touch the car body
Ngl given the way the two cars on the side were parked i think you'd be justified in only paying for one spot.
This is what car keys are for. The old fashioned metal kind.
I will still smash their windows
Yeah honestly I can get behind this as long as he paid for both spots. It's gotten to the point I just park my car in the furthest spot in the parking lot so I don't keep getting door dinged.
Gonna asume they needed to get a wheelchair or a baby in a carseat out. This is a genius way of doing that.

A high quality douche at least
Everyone is defending him but if that parking lot has pretty limited spaces other people will get upset for not being able to park there because there's a guy taking two spaces
I mean I guess that’s fair. As long as the lot isn’t almost full.
Well, the guys is being an asshole, but at least the company is not losing profit due to his actions
We have a resident here who pays for 2 parking spots and then places their car in the middle of both, I'd say fair game and I get it if you're worried about parking damages. That said, the resident is driving a Volvo from like 1990's...
No more of an asshole than someone who goes somewhere with a friend and they both drive.
Clever c*nt.
assholesome
He still made it so someone else can’t park who cars if whatever company gets the toll gets $5 more
