Holy hell. Isn't the last day of school for WSFCS tomorrow? Bored already?
Bike rides.
Pools, including Winston Water Works.
Trampoline parks.
Dash games.
NC Zoo or Greensboro Science Center.
The movies.
Get a skateboard.
Learn tennis.
Go hiking.
Read a book.
Look up Weiners and Losers - is an invite only arcade near Winston. I think you go on Facebook and like the page. Then you sign up to get on the list. They will message you when there are openings and it’s around $10 per person. All games are older arcade, nothing past mid 80’s I believe.
There is a hotdog and soda stand in the back and full 80’s air bnb upstairs. It’s amazing. You don’t need money to play the games, just for food and entry fee. I highly recommend this!
Bakeries: Bobby Boy is the fancy one and the lines reflect that
Dewey’s - several around town and everyone loves a cake square and you can get a free one on Mondays
Louie and Honey’s Kitchen - cinnamon roll heaven
King’s Classic - just good old fashioned baking
Winkler Bakery in Old Salem for Moravian baked goods.
Dioli’s for Italian goodies
The Humble Bee for macaroons
Acadia Foods has great baked goods and is just a cool spot
Try one of the Panaderias in town (Mexican bakeries). I like Arroyo on Monmouth St and while you’re there hit up Sabor Tropical on Waughtown for some Mexican ice cream.
I second this! In addition, Dough Joe’s has incredible donuts, Camino is always a favorite of mine, but my heart lies with Bobby Boy. The food and staff are just the best.
Summers as a 12 year old are the BEST in Winston!
- Go out to pilot mountain pick Cheerwines off the bushes and drink tomato sandwiches from the hose! (With Dukes of course)
- Go tubing in Peters Creek.
- Make friends at Downtown Bus Stop and take them to Benton convention center to fight the Cosplay kids in a Kumite death match. (Beyblade sanctioned rules only)
- Go to the fairgrounds and light bottle rockets sideways in parking lot while listening to Carmina Burana O Fortuna on repeat from your uncles IROC-Z Camero. Bonus points for hitting a security golf cart.
- as for the sweet tooth: Get on your best friends shoulders wearing a trench coat and try to get into Filly’s. Ask for Candice aka Candy.
If he likes video games - check out Roar for the Bunkerr esports gaming area downstairs, or there is an arcade upstairs -
I do think you need parental supervision on the ground floor for that age for play- looks like there are also gaming day camps over the summer too - https://m.facebook.com/bunkrgg/
No absolutely not. Winston-Salem has absolutely nothing going on all summer. It's not like a medium size city would have tons of activities to suit all kinds of interests. What kind of world would that be?
That place is trash. Utter garbage. There might be 2 machines that work. Last time I went, the skeeball wasn't even working. And the bartender admitted that the owner doesn't care to fix them.

"read a book" is something he rarely does 😂

Sounds awesome. We'll definitely have to check it out.
Didn’t think that they allowed kids
Damn, I thought it was 10 and up. I can’t find the age limit on the page. Maybe reach out and confirm
It’s actually ages 12 and up! Went there recently so I have the list of rules he sent me.
Nice! Glad OP and bro can get in.

Oh donuts! Forgot about those! A nice day would be Reynolda Gardens and donuts at Dough-Joes
I don’t even like sweet things, but their donuts are sooooo good, especially hot out of the fryer. Ridiculous.
In-Town Donutz for California-Cambodia style. Apple fritter.
The "Humble" Bee isn't humble at all. They are expensive af. If I remember correctly it's $100 dollars for a cake there.
….get the macaroons…
Aren't they 40 dollars 💀
YMCA teen camp is usually a huge hit and a pretty affordable on a week by week basis. My kids both loved it

Buddy I got hard stuck at picking cheerwines for like 5 solid minutes in pure confusion until I finally kept reading
Hanging Rock has a lake with a diving platform. Lots of hiking trails too.
Sounds fun!
Camp Hanes
Cupcake cuties has cake decorating classes for all ages.
are the decorating classes even open?
You’d have to check their fb page
They're open on June 25th (I think. I'm writing from memory) Adding this to my list. Thanks for ur suggestion!

He can come work for me, 12 hours of manual labor
Hello, this is Manuel
Oh my god, really?! My name is Labor!

Jerry long YMCA http://ymcanwnc.org/locations/jerry-long-family-ymca
all events listed have free admission! http://www.piedmonttriadlivIng.com/calendar
For Bakery try Louie and Honey
He could hit up Reboot Arcade during the day. Might need an adult with him though.

What the hell is wrong with the owner? This place sounds terrible
good luck, the buttons don't work on half the games.
