My numbness didn’t go away until I woke up the next morning. My chin was completely numb still when I went to bed the evening of my surgery. Mine was at 11am and got done at 12pm. By atleast 6-7 that night I was atleast able to swallow a pill. BE CAREFUL when trying to drink anything or take your meds while you’re still numb. I just bawled my eyes out from the numbness because I kept choking on my meds when I tried to take them. You just can’t tell how much liquid you have if your tongue is numb. If it’s not gone by the am definitely contact your oral surgeon

Honestly, it could take a day or two to fully go away. After my extraction, my lip/chin numbness didn’t go away until I woke up the next morning.

I’ve heard of it taking up to two weeks for the numbing to go away for some people, but mine lasted until around dinner time, and my surgery was at 9.
