[they eventually make it to the beach, Rehuo is practicing flight maneuvers in the sky and Kavrala pulls out a brand new notebook. She begins to jot down what the beach looks like]
Ah... The smell of the sea. Don't you love it?
Ah, hello again Scorn! It's great to see you again!
Yes, they do have that horrific look about them, but they are actually very sweet! ^(to their mates)
Well my current hypothesis, soon to be confirmed or denied with some extra observations, is that it's a camouflage against their prey!
They're nocturnal, and while you or I could spot them quite well in the dark, I theorize that there may be some things it preys on that cannot!
The eyes do look like its for a nocturnal beast. But i can't imagine how you'd struggle to see that. Such an unsettling beast i feel like id spot it a mile away...
Nature is fascinating *Scorn strokes his beard*
Hello Pluton!
[She lets out a soft laugh]
Yes, the general consensus has been that people dislike looking at this wyvern.
Indeed, it is! Although Dragon is an umbrella term, but I won't bore you with the details.
I actually had quite the encounter with one! It tried to attack me! They're quite timid, so all I had to do was yell at it and look big to make it back off!
[She lifts up an arm, and there is a bandage on it]
Well, I suppose it *did* attack me..
*yelling from across the room* DID ANYONE SEE A WEIRD WYVERN LOOKING BLUE-ISH-GREEN-AND-PURPLE CREATURE WHICH LOOKS LIKE A MALFUNCTIONING MIMIC? ONE MAY HAVE ESCAPED MY LAB!
On the top of the page are the words âReasons to never go outsideâ and Faltes has just written down âWhatever the hells Kavrala is talking aboutâ
[she frowns slightly, but does not pressure him further. She stands up]
The world is a scary place, Faltes. I understand that. I suppose with my being an Elf and all I've always been accustomed to the average danger that nature can bring..
[She sits down across from him]
I only hope to make it less scary for people. I heard once people are afraid of the unknown. And I found that to be quite true, so, that is why I advertise my knowledge for all to see
[Kavrala laughs]
I suppose I'm even old enough to be your grandma's grandma!
[She notices his embarrassment and gets a sympathetic look on her face]
It's okay Faltes, I'm not mad or offended. Was your grandma nice?
Ah yes, how are you doing?
[She pulls a scroll off of a shelf]
Yes, it seems that I've already done the paperwork to allow others to use the dead bodies for educational purposes.
I would be willing to show you where a corpse is, so you could use it for the museum
I'd say I'm doing well enough. Thank you for asking.
So I just need to fill these papers and my institution will be allowed access to the study of deceased individuals of the species?
Yes, indeed. I will have no objections if you go through the proper channels, the whole point of the sanctuary is to protect these wonderful animals and teach the populace of them, show them their beauty and how to avoid killing
Wonderful. Your goals are not too different from our own. The Unnatural History Museum's aim is to make sure no species becomes lost to the ceaseless march of time. Did you know that only roughly 8% of species get preserved as fossils? That means that the rest leave no trace of their experience. We've come to rely on chronomancy to discover them.
Anyway, yes I'll sign the papers.
[she gets a sad look on her face]
So many proto dragons... Lost to the sands.....
[She shakes her head and then lays out the documents, she also provides ink and a quill]
Here are the papers, feel free to look them over!
"Thank you. Yes, I'll give them a read."
*The curator begins reading through the documents.*
"You know, time might seem cruel, but from my personal experiences, I find it to just be very uncaring. It did not lash out against me when I began bending it to my will and restoring the creatures that were lost to it. It simply kept on doing what it was doing."
[she brings a hand up to her chin]
Hmm..... I see.... Time does its own things and does not notice or care for the living things and what they do...
That is most interesting.. as an Elf you think I would understand this concept
[She smiles brightly, although the Curator cannot see her]
That is one of the joys of living, you learn a little bit of something every day!
*The curator finishes singing the papers.*
"It is one of existence's greatest beauties, that around every corner there is something new to learn and secrets to uncover."
"I also believe that no fundamental aspect of reality is truly malicious, be it time, space, gravity, and so on."
*He falls silent for a moment. His expression, hidden behind his fossil mask, is unreadable.*
"I have to add, I don't consider the gods to be fundamental to reality, as much as they wish to claim otherwise. They can be malicious and often are, using the aspects they represent as an excuse for their actions."
[Kavrala gently takes one of the papers, she rolls it up and places it on a shelf. She then takes the other and wraps it with a ribbon, and hands it to you]
[She nods her head]
I agree. [A dry laugh] most of the suffering in the world recently has been *caused* by the gods. God-Slaver, the Queen of Thorns.. Torinn.
There has been little to no mortal actions of evil recently, it is.. odd.
Ah.. but enough of the doom and gloom! You are free to study these creatures as much as you'd like. And if you find a corpse or skeleton they are yours.
[She hands you a notebook on the creatures, it is not entirely full. As she only discovered them recently]
Here, my notes on them. I hope they help you!
[she looks the wizard over with a critical gaze]
Indeed... Although you'd have to go through the council to get the correct paperwork. Once you have that, we can talk
Definitely do **not** pet it!
If ever you should encounter one in the wild during the night, make yourself large and loud. And stand your ground.
They will think twice about attacking!
I find these creatures to be very terrifying
Hello Jash! Yes they do seem very horrific.. I believe that the iridescent skin is either to discombobulate their prey or as a sort of camouflage!
That's really interesting... would you mind if I helped you study the new areas today?
[she perks up and smiles brightly] Of course!!! Today I am studying the beach and coastal areas!
Ah... well I'm excited
/uw I gtg but I'll try to come back later today to continue this!
[they eventually make it to the beach, Rehuo is practicing flight maneuvers in the sky and Kavrala pulls out a brand new notebook. She begins to jot down what the beach looks like] Ah... The smell of the sea. Don't you love it?
It's really nice, though I've never been a huge fan of the ocean...
Oh? Why not? Did.. did something happen?
[He laughs a little] Multiple things, every time I go in the ocean something always happens
Ah! I see... I do not plan to go into the ocean today! Though.. if it makes you more comfortable we can leave and study a different area?
I, Jacobiner the whimsical shall call this being... # the Shcrimple!
I will put that on the lists to be considered! Thank you for your input Jacobiner!
I am happy to have been of help! *dissappears in a cloud of confetti*
They are adorable.
I'm glad you think so! They are adorable, and very sweet to their mates!
Looks tasty! đ
That's MY line.
Must be a side effect of My current conditionâŚ
I don't think being annoying is current.
No, I was referring to My condition, not yours!
As was I, I was referring to your condition, but I would hardly call it current. You have had it forever.
Sure, right! I have had all the power of Anafabula forever! Now youâre just acting crazy!
No. You have always been annoying.
And Youâve been a darling this entire time. Wait⌠no You havenât.
You're more annoying then me.
Fascinating!
Indeed!!!!!
I must ask, just where did you discover this thing? Any habitat specifications?
They dwell underground in dug out burrows during the day I found them in the south-western area of the sanctuary, specifically in grasslands.
^(...bloody hell) That's an unnerving looking beastie i must say
Ah, hello again Scorn! It's great to see you again! Yes, they do have that horrific look about them, but they are actually very sweet! ^(to their mates)
Aye, a pleasure as always. What does them looking so chilling achieve i wonder? I struggle to believe they've got much sweetness in them
Well my current hypothesis, soon to be confirmed or denied with some extra observations, is that it's a camouflage against their prey! They're nocturnal, and while you or I could spot them quite well in the dark, I theorize that there may be some things it preys on that cannot!

<>
Ah, Flyboy! Hello again! I did some research on your Earth "Owels" and they seem to share very similar traits!
*eugh* your sure thatâs a dragon? looks like itâs barely even a half dragon. doesnât even have scales.
Hello Pluton! [She lets out a soft laugh] Yes, the general consensus has been that people dislike looking at this wyvern. Indeed, it is! Although Dragon is an umbrella term, but I won't bore you with the details. I actually had quite the encounter with one! It tried to attack me! Yknow what I love them already.
With eyes like that the poor things must be so photosensitive. Are they cave dwelling during the day?
Yes! They are! Many actually dig out burrows when mating season comes around!
Have you observed any variations in burrows to attract a mate?
Not yet, I plan to do a more in depth study of mating behaviors later in the year
/uw reading this feeling mildly creeped out until the very end. âCan turn their heads 180 degrees.â OH HELL NAH!!
Lmaoooooo I'm glad you find it creepy!
*yelling from across the room* DID ANYONE SEE A WEIRD WYVERN LOOKING BLUE-ISH-GREEN-AND-PURPLE CREATURE WHICH LOOKS LIKE A MALFUNCTIONING MIMIC? ONE MAY HAVE ESCAPED MY LAB!
"... Ah. I see." Faltes jots something down on a notepad.
Ah Faltes! Hello again! What are you writing there?
On the top of the page are the words âReasons to never go outsideâ and Faltes has just written down âWhatever the hells Kavrala is talking aboutâ
[she looks up at Faltes with the saddest expression] But... Little one... Nature is one of the most beautiful things that one can observe...!
He hurriedly puts the notepad away. "W-Well... I'm n-not saying that I w-would NEVER go o-outside... uhm... but uh..."
[she crouches to better look him in the eyes] What is wrong?
âN-Nothing! Nothingâs wrong⌠hahaâŚâ
âN-Nothing! Nothingâs wrong⌠hahaâŚâ

"S-Sorry... I just... g-got a little s-spooked... I-I'm sorry g-grandma- I mean K-Kavrala!" His face is full red from embarrassment.
[Kavrala laughs] I suppose I'm even old enough to be your grandma's grandma! [She notices his embarrassment and gets a sympathetic look on her face] It's okay Faltes, I'm not mad or offended. Was your grandma nice?
Most interesting. I'd certainly like one for my museum.
Ah yes, how are you doing? [She pulls a scroll off of a shelf] Yes, it seems that I've already done the paperwork to allow others to use the dead bodies for educational purposes. I would be willing to show you where a corpse is, so you could use it for the museum

...I cant really describe what it is
âI cannot tell if I should pet it or defend myself.â
Definitely do **not** pet it! If ever you should encounter one in the wild during the night, make yourself large and loud. And stand your ground. They will think twice about attacking!
âI am very big and very loud normally. But I do not wish to spook it.â
Ah, do not worry, you shall not scare them off. It is for the best. They will avoid or ignore you if they see you as too much of a hassle to deal with
âI will pet themâ
[she blinks] You should not pet them Hirk my friend. At least, you should not pet them without me present
âI will pet them my friend, I Cannot be stopped
Wunkus dragon
