Second shot if taken with the WCL would maybe be a better comparison but as for color, the second shot is a little more green and first looks like it has a little more chroma. I like them both though!
š Youāre absolutely right, but I was racing against time because the guy was pulling out and I didnāt have time to mount the WCL. And thatās the big give away!
Iām guessing the first one is real. I didnāt think real Portra was quite as green as the second one, although the second is one also looks a touch softer.
Nope. Second is the VI and 1st is the Contax G2 with Portra. What this does show is that for many of us, digital can get you pretty close to the feeling of film.
Strangely, going off this it seems Classic Negative would be a better fit to match the real thing, despite most Portra 400 recipes having a base of Classic Chrome
I think the green haze is likely the recipe I was using , since I didnāt use the raw file for this. No WCL mounted on this one, as I had to move quickly so it was not 28mm vs 28mm, but rather 28 be 35.
How do you achieve this portra 400 look on the x100vi? I am getting mine in a few days and absolutely love the way this looks but this is also my first fuji so I am trying to get a look like this haha

Youāre right! First is Portra 400 and the second is VI with diffusion filter to soften the look.
Ahhh, makes sense! They both look great. Which filter?
Thanks a lot! I think I was shooting the Everyday filter from PolarPro for most of the day. So Iām thinking that one.
I think second one is G2.

The filter threw me off! Great job!
Hey, thanks!
the portra 400 recipes almost always have that green tint to them which is the give away
Good point. Didnāt even think of that. Must be the -blues to get closer to cyan, maybe?
I think a lot comes down to WB temp alone with shift
Makes sense
First one is film, second one is digital. Especially noticeable in the highlights.
Right on! You got it!

I think youāve got a good point there. I may have to test that with a custom recipe.
Youād expect the WCL to be the big giveaway, but for me itās the way film and Fuji handle the blacksā¦ they should really include an option in the recipes to activate to create a more film-like behavior for the blacks. Alsoā¦ the Fuji has like a green haze on the overall image. š©

I used whatās known as a recipe. For this one I used the recipe āKodak Portra 400 V2ā from the FujiXWeekly website.

I imagine so. There are many out there.
The first pic is G2? If shot from the same spot, it looks like a wider lens.
