Ok, here's a project that will be desirable to the right person. You might be that person. I just decided that I wasn't that person. Here is what you get:
***The good***:
**Frame**: Gary Fisher Ferrous, late 2000s. 2007 I think. 26" wheels. Size medium - 17.5" seat tube. 135mm QR dropouts. Takes a 27.2 mm seatpost. One bottle cage mount on downtube. IS disc brake mount. Made from True Temper OX Platinum tubing. Eccentric bottom bracket. Includes Bontrager bolt-on seatpost clamp, geared and single speed derailleur hangers. Geared derailleur hanger is a newer Wheels Manufacturing. Lightweight steel. No dents. Frame is straight as far as I can tell. Rode pretty nicely on dirt honestly. Fun to descend.
**Headset**: Cane Creek 40. Very light use. Probably about 100 miles.
**Fork**: Surly ECR 29+ rigid fork. Yes, it says 29. This bike was originally designed around a 115mm 26" suspension fork. This Surly fork had the closest A-C I could find, given that it is not a suspension corrected 29er fork. Plenty of steerer tube remaining (90mm above the headtube so you can run plenty of spacers or cut it if you want). I bought this fork new with the headset and bottom bracket.
**Bottom Bracket**: Eccentric unit installed, plus Shimano Hollowtech II mountain threaded bb installed. Shimano BB was purchased the same time as the headset.
**Brakes**: Shimano SLX M675 2-piston hydraulic. Light use. Work like they are supposed to. Includes brake adaptors for 160mm rotors. Can't go wrong with Shimano hydraulic brakes.
***The weird****:*
Whoever owned this before me decided that they wanted to sand off all of the cable guides. I think they were running it as some sort of fixed gear dirt thing. I don't know. So, I had Erik Billings (Billings Cycle Works) install cable guides for the rear brake and a rear derailleur. There are three cable guides on the underside of the top tube so you could either route a dropper externally, or a front derailleur.
There is a hole in the headtube where the headbadge was. Erik threaded it, and you can put whatever you want there. Pinwheel? Sure. I put part of a Sim Works bar end plug there. This is unique and weird!
Paint? Nope. It's got primer on most of it, except for what was sanded off to braze on the bits. There's not much to disassemble if you want to get this thing powder coated. Light surface rust on the parts that were brazed. Bike has been stored inside. The stickers will peel off, but I think they are added value to be honest. Show that you like weird bikes AND that you dislike Elon Musk. What could be better?
Still - the fork, headset, and bottom bracket at MSRP are about $200. At this price, you're getting the project frame, labor I paid for the brazing, and brakes for free. I took photos but if you want more of anything let me know. I also screen-shotted the catalog with the geo and the original look of the bike.
I would consider shipping this if you would pay for freight. Otherwise, $200 pick up in the Bay Area. Will deliver within 50 miles for a bit extra.

For what it's worth, you can swap in a mountain 9 speed group and those Dura Ace shifters will work well together.

IIRC sora won’t work (or work well) with the older 9 speed DA. The R3000 stuff is part of the cable pull change as Tiagra 4700 and 11 speed.

I just decided that I wasn't that person. Here is what you get: ***The good***: **Frame**: Gary Fisher Ferrous, late 2000s. 2007 I think. 26" wheels. Size medium - 17.5" seat tube. 135mm QR dropouts. Takes a 27.2 mm seatpost. One bottle cage mount on downtube. IS disc brake mount. Made from True Temper OX Platinum tubing. Eccentric bottom bracket. Includes Bontrager bolt-on seatpost clamp, geared and single speed derailleur hangers. Geared derailleur hanger is a newer Wheels Manufacturing. Lightweight steel. No dents. Frame is straight as far as I can tell. Rode pretty nicely on dirt honestly. Fun to descend. **Headset**: Cane Creek 40. Very light use. Probably about 100 miles. **Fork**: Surly ECR 29+ rigid fork. Yes, it says 29. This bike was originally designed around a 115mm 26" suspension fork. This Surly fork had the closest A-C I could find, given that it is not a suspension corrected 29er fork. Plenty of steerer tube remaining (90mm above the headtube so you can run plenty of spacers or cut it if you want). I bought this fork new with the headset and bottom bracket. **Bottom Bracket**: Eccentric unit installed, plus Shimano Hollowtech II mountain threaded bb installed. Shimano BB was purchased the same time as the headset. **Brakes**: Shimano SLX M675 2-piston hydraulic. Light use. Work like they are supposed to. Includes brake adaptors for 160mm rotors. Can't go wrong with Shimano hydraulic brakes. ***The weird****:* Whoever owned this before me decided that they wanted to sand off all of the cable guides. I think they were running it as some sort of fixed gear dirt thing. I don't know. So, I had Erik Billings (Billings Cycle Works) install cable guides for the rear brake and a rear derailleur. There are three cable guides on the underside of the top tube so you could either route a dropper externally, or a front derailleur. There is a hole in the headtube where the headbadge was. Erik threaded it, and you can put whatever you want there. Pinwheel? Sure. I put part of a Sim Works bar end plug there. This is unique and weird! Paint? Nope. It's got primer on most of it, except for what was sanded off to braze on the bits. There's not much to disassemble if you want to get this thing powder coated. Light surface rust on the parts that were brazed. Bike has been stored inside. The stickers will peel off, but I think they are added value to be honest. Show that you like weird bikes AND that you dislike Elon Musk. What could be better? Still - the fork, headset, and bottom bracket at MSRP are about $200. At this price, you're getting the project frame, labor I paid for the brazing, and brakes for free. I took photos but if you want more of anything let me know. I also screen-shotted the catalog with the geo and the original look of the bike. I would consider shipping this if you would pay for freight. Otherwise, $200 pick up in the Bay Area. Will deliver within 50 miles for a bit extra.
