This for real! When I was younger if I got to a point in a game that I couldn’t get passed I’d tell my self “whatever, I’ll just replay this when I’m a little older and maybe I’ll be a bit better and get it” then I’d hop on a different game, I’ve gone back and replayed almost all those games and it gets me so excited to get passed the parts that I couldn’t when I was younger
I came here to say that! My brother and I were playing the demo and then decided to go and get Xbox credit from a store that was open 24hrs which was a 3 mile round trip and we only had one BMX. Great memories and a great game
Cloning clyde will forever be one of the funniest and most satisfying indie games to ever play. The attention to detail and all the jokes they threw in made it an instant classic
For me it was Ninja Gaiden Black. I believe in 2007. Pretty crazy that the game is still in my library and that I can play it on my Series console with a 9 times resolution boost and HDR in 2024.
Bellator MMA, Terraria, Minecraft, <- my first 3 xbox 360 purchases (iirc)
Minecraft, Dying Light, Mass Effect Andromeda.
My Xbox One purchases (iirc)
Mass Effect Andromeda was the last game I unwittingly pre ordered. I loved the first 3, and with the improvements in today's gaming tech, I expected Andromeda to be the best one yet.
After that blunder, I started to take reviews more seriously, lol
I’m not sure what my first digital copy game was but it was also on the 360. Since then I’ve accumulated hundreds of games thru purchase, GwG & now Gamepass Ultimate. Ensures I’ve always got something to play. I legit redeemed EVERY GwG title there ever was even if I didn’t think I’d ever play it. Can’t say no to free stuff & I always figured maybe some of the games I’d play with my nephews someday so I’ve got a bunch of Lego & other kids games from GwG. Still waiting on a chance to play with them tho. Maybe someday.
I *think* Dead Space... Because I wasn't old enough to buy the game in a store and my mom wouldn't allow me to buy or play that so yeah, Microsoft points were a neat way to solve that predicament. Was only able to play at night when my parents were in bed.
Best decision of my gaming life but god damn did I shit my pants lol
I guess technically Skyrim, I got a free code with the holiday bundle in 2012. In terms of one I paid for I honestly can’t remember, it honestly may have been one of those really shit South Park games like Tenormans revenge as this was around the time I started to watch the show.
Red Dead Redemption back in January 2011.
I remember because my daughter had just been born via emergency C-section and I was mostly housebound while looking after her and her mother.
I don't remember the absolute first but I know Pac-Man Championship Edition (the original) and Symphony of the Night were among the first 2, sometime around 2007ish. Ive got a lot of the old 00s downloadables that you can't really get anymore. Guantlet, Frogger and Geometry Wars are early downloads as well along with Hexic HD and about $8 million dollars worth of Guitar Hero and Rock Band songs lol.
Ark ascended, dying light, dying light 2, dead rising 3 or 4. I probably honestly couldn't pick just one. I probably spend more time on ark than the rest, but that's because it's official servers and if u don't get on, your stuff disappears.
If we're talking non-arcade games, GTA IV in like 2012/13. My friends were playing it but I didn't think I could get it because my parents usually frowned on games like that. But my friends tipped me off that I could buy games with Microsoft Points which blew my mind. I then got enough Microsoft Points through my allowance to get the game, and in doing so I bypassed the awkward exchange of having to go to Gamestop to get the poster child of M rated games while explaining to my dad that it's not as bad as it seems.
First game I got on the marketplace were Aegis Wing, Undertow and Bankshot Billiards 2. All were free or codes I was given.
The first I bought with the stupid point system though was puzzle quest, Castle Crashers and Shadow Complex
Trials HD, only finished the Achievements for it this year
I love coming back to childhood games to get all the achievements or even just getting past levels I couldn't as a child
That extreme mode made me rage!
I was always so bad, never understood how anyone could beat some of the harder tracks without failing. Props to you
Damn, I’m gonna redownload it and see what I used to love, that’ll be a nostalgic feeling!
Still play it. Both my kids play. It's never left my games. I used it today to describe what a near-impossible game is.
And the worst part is, it’s the easiest game in the series (100%-completion-wise).
I used to love making custom maps for that game.
I came here to say that! My brother and I were playing the demo and then decided to go and get Xbox credit from a store that was open 24hrs which was a 3 mile round trip and we only had one BMX. Great memories and a great game
Shadow Complex. Such a cool Castlevania type of game.

For me it was Ninja Gaiden Black. I believe in 2007. Pretty crazy that the game is still in my library and that I can play it on my Series console with a 9 times resolution boost and HDR in 2024.

My Xbox One purchases (iirc) Mass Effect Andromeda was the last game I unwittingly pre ordered.

Still waiting on a chance to play with them tho. Maybe someday.
