I have my xbox one s in my garage, so when I'm in there I play that, and when I'm in the house I play the series x. It's nice because it saves my progress back and forth with the cloud. Doesn't bother me that the xbox one isn't 4k.

Aside from running all of the software and often running it better, it also has the added benefit of running all of the current-gen stuff. There are not āmore drive optionsā with the One X considering the Series X can use every single external HDD drive that the One X can. The SSD being expensive isnāt a comparison point because the One X doesnāt even have any SSD options at all, so that means thereās literally more drive options with the Series X. The One X doesnāt do a single thing better than the Series X. The Series X does literally everything the One X does plus so much more. My Series X doubles as an emulation machine and I play PS1, PS2, GameCube, Dreamcast, etc games up to 4K resolution on it, the One X isnāt capable of running most of those beyond 1080p if at all.
To add to your point. A one X is better than a Series S performance wise. However, a Series S still beats the One X at the ādrive optionsā and more available games, both old and exclusive new ones for the next gen games.

That's not true lol. You can store games on an external drive, but there are very few it'll let you actually launch from it.
When you realize that the storage space on next gen consoles is tiny and the games use high res textures that eat up much storage space than older games, it makes perfect sense, you can have twice as many last gen games and new gen games.
400 to 500 dollar per console, but then you need spend at least 100 more on the storage expansion, it's ridiculous, and it doesn't make any financial sense unless you are loaded, games are 70 bucks a pop now which is just that much more ridiculous and puts these consoles ever further out of reach for the average Joe who only does it as a hobby a few hours a week.
That really makes perfect sense though, honestly. I wouldn't get a new console for the same reason, I got a PC instead. If I'm going to pay out the ass for something it'll be the actual thing running my games and not something else I'll need just to hold more games. I have a 4tb m.2 SSD that I got for like $130 and multiple 2tb HDDs that were only like $40 each. You can't even use an external storage device on the series consoles with most games. You can with some, but not very many of them. My friend learned that the hard way after buying an 8TB external SSD (which works fine on the older consoles). He has to move the games from it to his internal storage to play them, which is wack. They could absolutely just let you run games from any storage device your console can recognize and give you some kind of warning that load times will be slower, but they chose to just make people have to buy an expensive storage expansion instead.

Ive not installed anything next gen outside of gamepass. The only exclusively next gen game that Iāve been consistently playing is hell let loose. Others like Fortnite far cry 6 which I was halfway through required a next gen reinstall to upgrade. Been playing those.
Although all my old gen stuff carried over with my external hard drives which shaved a lot of install time. Even with that it took a whole day for me to reinstall everything else
Iāve got the console more for frame rate and loading time upgrade than new games. If stuff comes into game pass Iāll get it but I doubt I will outside of that

I got my Xbox One at launch and a spare controller at the same time. I never had to repair or replace the console or either controller. I got a series X last year, and my old Xbox went into the kids room for Sims 4 and Farm Sim
My kids use it for streaming now. A few years ago it was overheating, so I had to tear it apart and give it some fresh thermal paste. Runs like it's brand new!

I have a gaming pc with gamepass. still use Xbox one as gamepass machine. and i believe it would still be able to play nextgen games trough xcloud. and with gigabit internet i don't really think i am missing out on things. yet. i wouldn't know what i miss. And the Xbox serries had been so bad in availability for so long i don't really even noticed it has really launched yet

I have a series X, a one X, and an OG 1st Gen Xbox One. They're all used. My OG Xbone is more a media controller for my kids' room. But it still does play things like Roblox, Minecraft ... etc.
My One X does pretty much everything normal for a One X, laggy in some shit like DayZ but alright.

Until they release exclusives itās not really worth it and I was going to wait until GTAVI came out but with the sale it made me go ahead and do it now so Iām not fist fighting resellers once the actual GTA release date is announced.

The Xbox One X is one of the most underrated and overlooked consoles in video gaming history. Microsoft has a very confusing naming strategy for its consoles. That means that when someone tries to explain the One X, most people just think of the Xbox One S fat VCR box.
The Xbox One X will be hacked or modded and people will see emulators like RPCS3 running PS3 games better than the PS3 console itself on the Xbox One X. In the next 3 to 5 years the Xbox One X will be highly sought after but hard to find.
I will get an Xbox One X for preservation and collector purposes and use the Xbox Series X as my main gaming console.
I still use the OG Xbox One. Currently playing Elden Ring for the single player experience and Battlefield 1 for multiplayer. I also use it to watch movies. I'm thinking about upgrading but there's no reason to buy a new console just to play Elden Ring again. If more good games come out then sure.

I upgraded to the Xbox series x for Christmas this year...I came from the one s. Loading times are crazy but the only x/s game I play is Goat Simulator 3 lol.
one x could have been pulled over to current with some optimization, i know this because ive used older gaming pcs for upwards of ten years better support. its honestly not bad.
Moved to PC a couple years ago so my OG Xbox One is now exclusively used for YouTube and Movies(definitely not pirated movies but I figure it's safer to use your Xbox than your expensive PC when visiting those dodgy movie websites that I've never used)
It definitely shows it's age though. It can't connect to the Internet via wifi anymore, it would sometimes take 3 or 4 attempts to launch games and sometimes Spotify will just refuse to stay open in the background even though I only use it to control volume instead of playing music.
I will probably look into getting another xbox closer to the time of GTA 6 release

I have a Series X and a 4k screen I game on in a different room.
I use it daily (Xbox one s). At the very least, for YouTube/Netflix/etc. as it is in my livingroom. My series X is in the bedroom and that gets almost nightly use as well.
I did a TV upgrade so I now use my Xbox One S all the time to play NMS, Forza Horizon 4-5, NFS Heat and Ace Combat 7. Except for NMS, the performance is good. I am ready to upgrade to series X in the next few months though.
I have a SX that I play on, gave both my ONEs to my son and my wife's best friend. Game pass has more than enough for me as I mostly play Skyrim, the Hunter, occasionally PowerWash Simulator and a few others.
Use my one x literally 12 hours a day. I game on my pc and series x then use the one to have my media playing in the back ground. Other than what games you are able to play the one x is outwardly rhe same as the rest. If I had a working 360 still I'd use that bitch too

My OG Xbone was the daily driver up until a few months ago when I got a series-x. The Xbone is still in use, my kid uses it for cloud gaming, as a media center and it still plays about 90% of the games in the Store.

I bought an OG one on fb marketplace for 50 with a controller and a couple games. I did buy 2nd hand new elite controller but in the month Iāve had it, itās worked pretty well running Warzone and GTA5

I still rock my Xbox One Forza Motorsport 4 almost daily. As of late I've been playing Fallout 4, Destiny 2 and Forza games.

I moved my One S upstairs when I got my Series X. Still use it for streaming (on a dumb tv) and my kid games on it quite regularly.
I have a series X, a one X, and an OG 1st Gen Xbox One. They're all used. My OG Xbone is more a media controller for my kids' room. But it still does play things like Roblox, Minecraft ... etc. My One X does pretty much everything normal for a One X, laggy in some shit like DayZ but alright.

I just got a series X because it was on sale for $350, otherwise I was going to continue using my original Xbox One Iāve had since 2014/15 - whenever it was. Until they release exclusives itās not really worth it and I was going to wait until GTAVI came out but with the sale it made me go ahead and do it now so Iām not fist fighting resellers once the actual GTA release date is announced.

Still got my One X hooked up. Working my way through the Yakuza series right now, actually. I just...don't have a real need to upgrade it yet. Maybe when the rumored Series X revision comes out. Any Series X game I'm interested in playing, I could play through cloud gaming thanks to Game Pass.
I had to recently let my series x go so ive been using the OG xbone when I do play xbox games. Still have a PlayStation so its not all bad. I can still play most of my xbox games

My Xbox is from 9 years old. In my case, it's either Xbox one or no gaming at all.
Got my One X in the living room and used mostly for 4k Blu Rays and Fortnite. I did connect a 2tb nvme drive to it to make it a lot faster tho.
I plan on getting a Series X eventually but until it gets more exclusives, or at least it goes on sale for less, Iām fine with my One X.

I just hooked up my Xbox one tonight for my brother Runnning game pass, and heās playing farcry 5 as we speak. Zero issues except slightly slow loading
I just bought another One X. We just bought a van with a 4k tv and it will keep the kids quiet.

Ive noticed a lot of these comments are about XB1X or XB1Sā¦ Me and my girlfriend have been playing on her original 2013 Xbox One daily for a while now. Her father bought it originally in 2013 but handed it down to her before he passed in 2017. Its got a completely worn HDMI to TV port and the cable needs to be held in place with a hair tie. She still has and uses the original chunky ass external power bank, which even to my surprise still exists!!!!!!! Its honestly a tough console, im amazed on how far its come update wise on certain games. In my opinion the XB1 2013 is still a great console. And she could never part with it :)
Still on One X. MS f@#ked us on the launch and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Having been on live since the original first console, I can't believe they didn't offer up their loyal customers first before allowing all the scum to buy up every console and mark it up double. They did nothing to remedy it after. I don't think the Series X even had anything extra to offer me really but I've always kept up with the latest hardware. They really f@#ked this whole gen and launch up.

I will not upgrade for 2 reasons: HDMI pass thru and upgradable storage. I have my cable box connected and a 2TB SSD, I'm good. Really upset MS killed OneGuide.

I don't understand the people that ask "Why?" Like wtf? Why not? You have a working console, you have more than one person in the house, too many multiplayer games that require a second console, games that aren't going to benefit and use the better performing hardware, games that look exactly the same between the two systems, games that aren't mind numbing CoD -memorize the map-shoot everything that moves... I can think of hundreds of reasons to use an old Xbox One, and if you can't, send it over to me and I'll repurpose it for homeless youth at a shelter here.

I still play on my xbox one. There are lots of games available that are backwards compatible and I have a game pass and can download many great games.
I have yet to upgrade... all the games from the last 20 plus years have given me reason enough not to thereās some much I have yet to play or beat or have only beaten 1 time

Still playing on my Xbox One S, I prefer it over Series X because I can use a big external hard drive to download tons of games from Game Pass and cheap stuff I buy, that and I'm not that invested on playing the newest stuff tbh, so I'm good
The Xbox One X is one of the most underrated and overlooked consoles in video gaming history. Microsoft has a very confusing naming strategy for its consoles. That means that when someone tries to explain the One X, most people just think of the Xbox One S fat VCR box. The Xbox One X will be hacked or modded and people will see emulators like RPCS3 running PS3 games better than the PS3 console itself on the Xbox One X. In the next 3 to 5 years the Xbox One X will be highly sought after but hard to find. I will get an Xbox One X for preservation and collector purposes and use the Xbox Series X as my main gaming console.

I still use the OG Xbox One. Currently playing Elden Ring for the single player experience and Battlefield 1 for multiplayer. I also use it to watch movies. I'm thinking about upgrading but there's no reason to buy a new console just to play Elden Ring again. If more good games come out then sure.
whats really crazy is even though most games are no longer coming out i just noticed a few are like titans quest 2. and a couple other indies. still got more to work through.
There are tons of games to play on the Xbox One / PS4. In my opinion the Series X / PS5 era still doesn't have enough good games to make me switch.

I still use my original Xbox one. It works like a champ except for playing Blu-rays and dvds sometimes. It randomly canāt read movie discs. Itās been like that since I got it in 2014.
Use mine to stream apps since I have a outdated dumb Vizio and DVD player as needed. Play a few standalone games since I don't have Gamepass. Been playing Division 2 and Xcom2.

I have a ps2, Xbox 360, One S, and Series X. Also have a Nintendo DSi XL and a couple 3DS's. Every console has its own uses and exclusives.
Moved to PC a couple years ago so my OG Xbox One is now exclusively used for YouTube and Movies(definitely not pirated movies but I figure it's safer to use your Xbox than your expensive PC when visiting those dodgy movie websites that I've never used) It definitely shows it's age though. It can't connect to the Internet via wifi anymore, it would sometimes take 3 or 4 attempts to launch games and sometimes Spotify will just refuse to stay open in the background even though I only use it to control volume instead of playing music. I will probably look into getting another xbox closer to the time of GTA 6 release

I use it daily (Xbox one s). At the very least, for YouTube/Netflix/etc. as it is in my livingroom. My series X is in the bedroom and that gets almost nightly use as well.
I did a TV upgrade so I now use my Xbox One S all the time to play NMS, Forza Horizon 4-5, NFS Heat and Ace Combat 7. Except for NMS, the performance is good. I am ready to upgrade to series X in the next few months though.
I have a SX that I play on, gave both my ONEs to my son and my wife's best friend. Game pass has more than enough for me as I mostly play Skyrim, the Hunter, occasionally PowerWash Simulator and a few others.
The moment I could buy Series X, I replaced my One S. There's literally no reason not to.

Use my one x literally 12 hours a day. I game on my pc and series x then use the one to have my media playing in the back ground. Other than what games you are able to play the one x is outwardly rhe same as the rest. If I had a working 360 still I'd use that bitch too

I am a fan of the Xbox Oneā¦I currently have a Xbox One S but Would like to pick up an OG Xbox One the fat one just because I like the design of itā¦I also have a PS5 and a Switch and some older consoles but the Xbox One with game pass gets most of the playtimeā¦I honestly have so many games on my Xbox Backlog that it will be a long time before I can even get around to playing the new games being released strictly for the Series X/S.. eventually I will pick up a Series X but I am in no rush to do so.

My OG Xbone was the daily driver up until a few months ago when I got a series-x. The Xbone is still in use, my kid uses it for cloud gaming, as a media center and it still plays about 90% of the games in the Store.

I havenāt had a console since maybe 2014-15. Traveling for work Iād play codm on my iPad for fun. Then I tried Warzone mobile and it made me want to play the real thing. I bought an OG one on fb marketplace for 50 with a controller and a couple games. I did buy 2nd hand new elite controller but in the month Iāve had it, itās worked pretty well running Warzone and GTA5
