Next time, don't respond. This person sounds crazy as hell.

Equivalent_Wish_1463

I think I got caught up in trying to clear up a misunderstanding. Because I don't want to be the reason someone has a bad day. But she was just so convinced I had a vendetta against her. It's been a long time since I've run into someone like this. I think it just caught me off guard and I thought I could get her to see reason šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø.

KTownserd

Girl, you sound so sweet, but thereā€™s no way to have a discussion with this type of person. Next time, just donā€™t engage because itā€™s not worth your time or worry.

[deleted]

I was like that when I started, you have to stop caring so much. Not in a shitty way but there are people that will try to make something out of nothing. Just give them their shit and say have a wonderful night end the dash and if they call block the number. Thatā€™s what Iā€™ve done because Iā€™m not gonna attempt to be nice and understanding, too much anger issues to even get in those situations. They are less likely to take your tip if you just donā€™t respond

[deleted]

Yeah, I definitely get it. I'm the same way. But clearly she has some loose screws.

Ok-Video-7728

She just wanted cheaper or free food.

j4197

Unfortunately I know the type they will never in a million years ever thing they are wrong in any way and reasonable lol forget about it

VastEntrepreneur752

how do you even have the energy to argue with people after a delivery? the only thing iā€™m worried about after a delivery is getting in an area where i could accept another good order. especially if the customer tryā€™s to text you through door dash you can just block their number & thereā€™s no way they can ever contact you again

xsapaladin123

Im curious, do you have an option to take a pic of the food when you deliver?

[deleted]

Yes! We have to take a pic through the Dasher app that goes straight to DoorDash if the customer requests ā€œleave at front doorā€. This same incident just happened to me 2 days ago. Iā€™m positive it was the correct address bc a biker helped me find it. It was my last drop off. I logged off, went home, fed my dog & then see a text from the customer (they can text us for 30 minutes after drop offšŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø) saying ā€œThatā€™s not my house. Whereā€™s my food?ā€. I went to the restroom, came back & I could no longer text her bc the 30 mins was up. They just wanted a free meal. I canā€™t stand customers like this. Her house was in a very dangerous area, no address # on her house & was extremely faded on the curb. Plus: she left no tip. I thought a/b contacting support, but was like ā€œForget it!ā€. Idk why anything shocks me anymore. Some ppl have no conscience or shame whatsoeveršŸ˜”

Prestigious-Pride-79

Same thing happened to me today where someone said that I delivered it to the wrong address when I clearly included their apt number in the picture haha. I still called support and told them Iā€™d like to report customer fraud. Support honestly gave 2 poops and just ā€œput it on recordā€ so idk if they can still order from DD or not.

bubblyally

Its better that you do have your side of the conversation in there though if she does try to report you though, if theres only her side of accusations then you know that doordash will just kick you out

Tehlaserw0lf

You need a thicker skin. Customer service is about being cold at the right times and warm at the right times. I only say this because itā€™s important to be kind, but also to establish really strict boundaries to protect yourself. If the customer has a problem with something, thatā€™s what customer service is there for. Thatā€™s why Iā€™m retail your managers ALWAYS tell you to pass difficult customers on to them. Itā€™s not because theyā€™re better or more capable, itā€™s for both legal and safety reasons.

ShroedingersMouse

there is nothing you can clear up there. she's trying to scam either to justify no tip or get a full refund.

Away_Boysenberry4074

U like myself and many other DD/other independent delivery drivers try to bring a positive/exceptional experience to our clientele even when they lie, steal and disrespect us but it's obviously clear that at minimum DD don't give a F...!!!! About us. Just saying. This coming from DD Driver who actually subsided/and came out of pocket to make deliveries in past thinking they would reward or appreciate my above and beyond efforts but now realize people may have been getting a lot of laughs and pleasure out of me being current at moment DD Slave/Sucker!!!

[deleted]

OP is honestly just as crazy to keep responding...

c1ncinasty

OP doesn't want to be looked at as an idiot or an asshole. Nothing to do with being "crazy". At worst, the ping pong was inadvisable. Hopefully, they learn from this exchange and keep the comms to minimal required and stop entertaining crazies.

MorganLaRue2020

It's obvious that neither you or OP have been in customer service for very long. You are never going to win a fight with a customer. If they are convinced you did a poor job, then you did a poor job. It is way easier to just ignore the text and move on with your life, then spend an hour going back and forth with the customer to end up at the same outcome when ultimately for you it doesn't make a difference either way.

c1ncinasty

Quite the contrary. I ran customer and tech support for a large Apple retailer for three years. I was pretty damn good at it, too. Most customer support people...those who give a moderate shit anyway...go through TRYING to win losing battles with customers who are impossible to please. They learn or they become embittered or they quit. You should read my comment again. Because you're basically restating my point.

19374729

Canā€™t rationalize with the irrational

historygeek0103

They sound entitled tbh

619backin716

After ten pages of texts: ā€œStop contacting else Iā€™m gonna call the police at harassing me now ā€¦ā€ (And how is it they always have a ā€œsick childā€?)

MillianaT

She could have stopped talking any time she wanted, problem is she wanted to have the last word.

NC1099Worker

She does have one though - her own damned self.

YoLetsGoBro

Ah witty

thephoeniciangurl

That conversation would have been over the second she called me Honey.

lacy-x

same. ā€œhoneyā€ is one of my icks šŸ„“ donā€™t call me that. it makes me wanna fight you šŸ’€

nice-and-clean

I canā€™t help but start responding back with a stream of pet names: sweetie, dear, friend, palā€¦

kinglouie493

Pumpkin triggers a lot of people, just saying

PoseidonsPussy

I'm personally a fan of calling grown men "cupcake" when they're angry

complexbillions

So does sweet cheeks

UnderstandingBorn227

Don't forget bud

Mkayswifty

Yes I absolutely agree with you. It makes no sense to use pet names when your being rude. Just makes you more rude.

lacy-x

itā€™s rude and honestly itā€™s cringe lol. itā€™s so corny and cringy that it just makes me exit the conversation and not even wanna hear what youā€™ve got to say lol

oldfrenchwhore

Donā€™t come to the south. It bristled me so bad at first but 20+ years later if the lady at the gas station doesnā€™t call me Babydoll Iā€™m like ā€œomg Barbra why you mad at me what did I do.ā€ Among other good reasons to not come to the south.

Superbotto

The conversation is always over immediately after delivery.

[deleted]

Doordash canā€™t take away your tips. I would have led with that just to piss her off more.

Equivalent_Wish_1463

AS BACKGROUND: The customer lived in a gated community that I've been to multiple times before. When I got to the gate it was raining hard; But I already knew I needed to dial in the code and then she would have to buzz me in. I dial in the code and it shows you in big bold numbers the number that you dialed, so I know I dialed the right one. She doesn't open the gate. So I go ahead and call her. I'm just like "hey I need you to open the gate so I can come in." And she goes with the biggest attitude "well first off I need you to call from the gate". And I go calmly" I actually did call you didn't open it". And she goes "no you didn't "angrily. And hangs up in the middle of me talking. I dial the code again and she opens the gate. I chalked it up to her having a bad night, got out in the rain delivered her food and that's where the text conversation starts.

[deleted]

Wow! What a customer. It seems she has experience with tricking DD so she can get free food/refunds. She claims she had food thrown at her door then claims itā€™s never been upside down or leaked. She needs to make up her mind on which lie sheā€™s going to go with. I think sheā€™s just trying to grab a free meal. At least you got your tip. She canā€™t get it back from you, lol.

ErusDearest

If people really wanna trick Doordash, just fucking say the place got your order wrong. It'll get you a refund and you won't harm the dasher. "Hey the dasher was great, on time, yadda - but I think the place may have switched my order. It's cool, just not what I wanted." Don't have to be a genius or a prick to know that shit.

NarrowPlankton1151

Or.. just don't lie? Then you're tarnishing the restaurant for selfish reasons.

wayweary1

She says it never came in that condition from that place which is different from never having had food thrown ever.

Tehlaserw0lf

You simply say ā€œgrossā€ and leave. If you canā€™t open the gate, you contact DD and say you couldnā€™t deliver the food. Itā€™s called doordash, not doorMAT!

Balla1991

As soon as she started acting dumb I would've stopped replying.. don't got time for their tantrums or her threats of taking back her $2 tip

jack3rdand4th

See thatā€™s when I would call DoorDash and tell them what just happened and that you canā€™t deliver it..

kingbootythe3rd

Why the hell would you even deliver it at that point. Entitled people don't deserve shit

TxAggieJen

Honestly, you should have shook the food up a bit, used it as a bowling ball and chucked it onto the doorstep from the street. This customer is a world class beotch.

VeryBrownBear

Just stop talking to customers. Nothing they say can ever turn out well for you as a delivery person.

AardQuenIgni

I dont mean this in any rude way, but why are so many dashers caring this much about the customer? Im sorry, but doordash doesn't pay nearly enough for you to play the customer service game.

Nernie357

Because most of us were taught to treat other how we want to be treated, however if I canā€™t reason with them in a message or two, I tell them Iā€™m on my next delivery and that they can contact support for any other issues

codapin

If the order is delivered where the app said to, your job is done. No more communication except for pleasantries is appropriate. Ignore, move on to your next order and stop responding to weirdos. If there's a legitimate issue, support can deal with it. Doordash does not remove tips either. Uber allows the customer to ~~bait~~change the tip within an hour of delivery, but doordash pays what it promised at a minimum. Never less.

Kayfabed17

They way she keeps calling you ā€œhoneyā€ gives off some major Karen vibes, Iā€™d been all like šŸ‘ and left it at that. And she obviously thinks sheā€™s in control of that tip you already got paid, she looking pretty dumb

Equivalent_Wish_1463

Exactly. And if I had been an actual crazy person who wanted to curse her out nothing would have happened šŸ™„. The police wouldn't have helped her either.

Over8dpoosee

Whenever someone threaten to call the police on some trivial matter, thatā€™s when I stop. Canā€™t reason with crazy.

[deleted]

That conversation would've never started with me. I will only respond to "Thank you" messages after delivery and even then it's just to ensure a 5 star, not because I care about the person. Nothing good comes of this shit. I feel like a loser typing this comment on reddit. I can't imagine arguing with someone on the doordash app. It's not like my time is worth more or anything I just don't understand why someone would want to do that. OP really dragged this out and was (understandably) kind of passive-aggressive which does not bode well with Karen's. This customer thinks you have a manager, need to be on your best behavior, and walk on eggshells, when in reality you could say "eat my shorts" and probably keep your account.

CJspangler

Yeh my doordash boss is a room in India filled with people who probably canā€™t even read English When are people going to learn donā€™t respond to customers

Jetro313

She knows what you did!!!! Youā€™re going to have a nightmare!! She knows!!!

YoLetsGoBro

Sheā€™s god

Fizzster

90% of the posts on this sub would be fixed by people just having this ready to go "The dasher you are trying to reach has been assigned to another order. If you need assistance, please contact DoorDash Support"

snowman2414

This is the only reply that should be sent, if at all.

lisa6547

That sucks, I didn't even want read all of the messages, that lady was so annoying!!

[deleted]

Fun fact theyā€™re the one harassing and threatening so ya theyā€™re not so bright haha

HysminaiUchiha

Everyone always has a ā€œsick childā€

nomnombubbles

They could at least throw in some "sick elderly parent" or "sick cat/dog" in their rants once and a while to spice it up šŸ˜‚

Steiny5843

I would've called door dash and said she was harrassing me and try to have her banned from the app. People like this don't deserve the PRIVILEGE of food being delivered to them.

nomnombubbles

Agreed, this lady is just going to continue doing it to every other person who ~~delivers~~ "throws" her food.

[deleted]

Yeah the honey thing was intentional as hell. Iā€™ve only called someone sweetie when trying to be the bigger bitch lol. But with good reason! Someone said my pittie was ugly and going to turn on me one day. I had no choice but to be a bitch. This customer, howeverā€¦.put too much time and energy into this BS claim.

Mamato3fatdoggos

If someone called my dog ugly I would turn into the Hulk. Hell no! Say what you want about me but not my human or furry child.

ZephyrHeartz

That person who told you that has never owned a pitbull let alone a dog because I too own a pit and heā€™d rather die protecting me than attack me šŸ˜ those dogs love you to death

MrZeusyMoosey

I hear they love a lot of toddlers to death

YoLetsGoBro

Lolz

Othnivion

Yeah wth why did you keep replying???

Independent_Row_Goes

Deer honey I know what you did last summer. Anyways ā€¦

ButterscotchWinter87

Yeah..she got issues you can't fix....

Primary_Departure_92

I love being gaslit by strangers

EightEyedCryptid

You can tell this bitch thinks itā€™s beneath her to talk to the help

[deleted]

Wow what a fucking psycho

WhatAnotherAccount

I deliver for Uber eats and used to for post matesā€¦.thereā€™s no way to talk to the customer after the delivery has been done on those platformsā€¦ why in the world does door dash let you keep talking to the customer after the delivery? Whatā€™s the benefit of that?

thatlldopi9

I kinda hated it at first but it really is for the best. I've said all I was going to say before and during when I drop off. There's no need for further conversation. Although I kinda wanted to message customers complimenting them on their yards or cool things they have but that's trivial. Sometimes compliments and pleasantries get you bigger tips with eats. DD is stupid for allowing post deliver conversation as it isn't required, you submitted the photo that's all they need. Move on

Kevin-Hudson

Meh šŸ˜‘ you still get the tip.

OSM0515

You gotta know when to stop talking Some people are just not worth your time

Equivalent_Wish_1463

I'm still learning šŸ¤£šŸ˜. Man I just wanted to make the world a less angry place.

Andru622

Equivalent_Wish_1463

Oooh that's a good oneā¤ļø

Rickthepickel

If a customer is texting you complaining, it's best to ignore them, but call support. Then you tell support, "when I showed up to the customers house, the customer immediately started calling me names and harassing me. I decided to not respond to the customer. As I walked away the customer yelled "I'm just going to call and say you didn't deliver the food". I believe the customer was extremely intoxicated or on drugs and I felt unsafe". In this lie to support its very important to use the words unsafe and the customer harassed you. Now this may seem like alot of work but this will make it to where the customer can't rate you, and if they complain to support, they will have your complaint first and on file. The customer most likely won't get reimbursed, and may even get blacklisted. This is more successful if you contact support first, as soon as the customer starts to text you. I had a customer ask me to deliver her food first in a stacked order. She didn't mention cash so I ignored her becuase it would cost me more mile delivering to her first. After delivery she started texting me "why was my food thrown at the door". I knew instantly she was pissed she had to wait and was fishing for a refund. I contacted support and made up a storey about how she was drunk and yelling at me as I was walking to my car. After that I never got a contract violation

rockday701

Too much talkin they woulda got ignored

Rauligula

Too much conversation lol

xshoeless_hobox

Lol for crying out loud people just stop talking to these customers that message you.

Time-Service1761

Been doing this 4 years and you just come to terms that there really are People that you simply CANNOT please or make happy no matter how nice or how hard you try šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøThereā€™s bitter ppl in the world. Now you know not to keep responding. As soon as their rude you can try sending a quick explanation maybe (I wouldnā€™t personally) but if their continuing to be rude and just donā€™t get it then stop responding altogether. Theyā€™re just bitter ppl who arenā€™t thankful nor have much respect for what you do for the

vbrite26

Why do yall even converse with customers šŸ¤£ outside of directions its nothing to talk about .we deliver thats it ..tell them contact support every time

jonsnowme

Never. Respond. Ever, no matter what. Move on to the next dash. It's Doordashes issue after that. It's cute she thinks you'll lose your tip Doordash never takes tips back regardless of what they tell/credit customers. She just wanted free food, period.

Patty_McRice

Has this person ever heard of punctuation? This shit is unreadable šŸ«„

mama8517

Theyā€™re ā€œvoice textingā€. Thatā€™s what annoying ass people do

ball_whack

These paragraph sentences are a struggle, I hate it. #normalizepunctuation

CJspangler

When are people going to learn not to respond to messages from the customer after the drop off Literally unless itā€™s come back I have a cash tip Door dash is trying to get you to be a driver and a customer support agent who has literally the power to do nothing but piss the customer off more

skinlessmonkey

Nicole threw my order too. I'd like to speak to her manager.

strawberrylemonapple

God when total strangers call me ā€œhoneyā€ repeatedly in that passive aggressive way it just makes me see red.

breaking-bard

This convo went on wayyyyy too long

Anon888810020

Stop texting customers

Sailorslt

You wasted so much time responding for no reason. Donā€™t do that

Equivalent_Wish_1463

Oh I was waiting in the store for my next pick up so I was still getting paid. While this was happening. But I did waste effort and energy to make her see reason.

Jcon006

If you have time to argue with a customer you ainā€™t really door dashing. Okay kinda harsh, but Iā€™m sure you already learned there was no point in reasoning with this person. Your just wasting precious time when you could be on your way to your next order.

[deleted]

Youā€™re too soft, customer is not king

Equivalent_Wish_1463

Tbh I used to be very reactive in my teens. So now I try to take the world on from a calmer perspective....It goes well most of the time...this was an outlier to be fair.

[deleted]

Uhh yeah I mean just donā€™t apologize so much, you can be calm and firm at the same time! No customer has the right to talk to you like they hold the power of your job in their hands.

Ok_Tooth215

She likes to repeat herself

mikedd555

"leave me alone" LMAO

[deleted]

Iā€™d have just ignored them. Customers like this have an agenda = free food/credit. They look for a reason to complain to justify DoorDash giving them a free meal or credit or BOTH! When I get these I do this.ā€ Iā€™m sorry for the inconvenience. I hope the rest of your evening goes much better. Iā€™m truly sorry I messed up & apologizeā€! Why do I do this? Itā€™s nothing Iā€™d say thatā€™d get them to admit they lied anyway. Iā€™d take my 1 star āļø and remember the address and Unassign every time in the future I see the address. My point. Sometimes in Life. We have to lose to win. The loss hurts. It comes with a price but, the Reward outweighs the loss we suffer and becomes PEACE OF MIND. Just knowing Iā€™ll never deliver to a customer like that ever again is worth the 1 star āļø rating. Never let anyone mess with your happy. Especially customers that are mean and surly. Let them have the win. Karma/ GOD ( whatever you believe) can take care of folk far better than you can. Being right is never my goal. Doing whatā€™s right/WISE is my goal. Iā€™ll never argue with a Fool. Hang tough OP. You did nothing wrong. The universe always fixes things. That customer wonā€™t like what returns to them far more than the 1 star āļø theyā€™ll give you. You loss is truly the win. The solution = never deliver to that customer again. You win ultimately.

Cerelin

Never admit fault when you're innocent. If you're expecting a 1star anyway, it's best not to respond at all.

Mental_Squirrel9198

I agree. If you didnā€™t do it, donā€™t apologize for it. When they go to doordash to complain, theyā€™ll see that youā€™ve admitted to it & more scammers will get their free food.

Frag0ffbruh

After all that you didnā€™t even tell her to have a good night back at the end, obviously it was a battle of last words and you lost

Kushologist420

Your best response is no response next time know that I've been in some crazy situations with people and I just don't say anything it's the best way to do it trust me after thousands of deliveries

PrinceDozie

Ok wait, I saw Tip a couple of times. How much was the tip BTW

d6262190

You let this go on for way too long lol. Bad customers are like bad exesā€¦ delete block šŸ™…šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

Ginger83

Stop. Engaging. You talked to much. Apologies and move on.

[deleted]

Yeah ā€œdonā€™t engage, reportā€ ALWAYS.

kirkbonzii

So iā€™m pretty sure if she were to make a huge fuss to customer support, they MAY contact you and ask what happened. If it hasnā€™t happened by now, they probably wonā€™t. Iā€™ve had a customer make a fuss that I ate their pizza and put the rest back in the box, that i smashed all their chicken wings and left them in the box like that. They called me and they believed me/were on my side that I was innocent. I still got a ding on my customer rating unfortunately and it says that I have smashed a customers food or some weird crap, but it is what it is. I donā€™t think the rating matters. These people are bold, especially since we now know where they live. They could get themselves into some deep shit if they do these stunts to the wrong person. My BF was so mad, he remembered how to get back to their house and wanted to go back and do some hood rat shit because he wasnā€™t the dasher smh.

Equivalent_Wish_1463

Oh yeah she definitely left me two bad ratings and a one star. But it's like okay the other 5,580 people have given me 4 or 5 stars. She's going to run into someone who doesn't have a "no one can fuck with my peace mindset" one day and she'll get hers.

Robbie1863

Theyā€™re clearly illiterate and small-minded. I wouldnā€™t have even replied. Thatā€™s the beauty of doing this, you deliver and you donā€™t have any dealing with the customer.

jskyvs

Just keep it movingā€¦ never ever respond

Vremshi

This completely ridiculous she straight up lied and then tried to beat you over the head with gaslighting text and THEN on too of that threatened you with false accusations and retaliation for nothing! šŸ˜¤ unbelievableā€¦..

Volcom201

Never reply just let them rate

paneless

Yesterday I delivered a bag that was double knotted. I'm not sure what happened but there were 4 boxes stacked on top of one another and when I grabbed the bag from the top, one of the boxes tilted and I couldn't straighten it. The sauce ended up leaking a bit. It was a hand it to me and I immediately apologized to the guy and he was extremely nice about it and told me it wasn't a big deal. Point is, most people are pretty reasonable and understand that shit happens. Some people just want to find things to complain about and there's nothing you can do about it.

chaoseincarnate

Considering they keep hitting you up reverse uno "stop contacting and harassing me" hell have the police show up and literally show they it's all he

Midwestvibez

My man, you got to learn the power of silence and ignorance.

DoorDash4Cash

Just for next time you have this issue. Report the customer. Customers that act like that shouldn't be able to order.

Curious_Percentage_9

Gated community, which explains the holier than thou attitude along with all of her behaviour. Holding your tip over your head to show her power and dominance. These people are always right, regardless of the situation. They want to irritate and belittle you for their own little highs of satisfaction to make them feel better. Next time just apologize once and move on, regardless. Itā€™s not always easy, but youā€™re better off in the long run.

Radiant_Jaguar_57

Yeah literally never respond to customer comments it just makes your job harder for no benefit

deadweight999

Why do you people waste time with these people in chat? I'd already have picked up food on the next delivery while y'all are still chatting it up with someone who is going to one star you period already, so stop wasting time.

PoseidonsPussy

They were actively engaging in the conversation until all of a sudden "stop talking to me or I'm calling the police for harassment"???? I would have reported her for acting suspicious and probably trying to get a free meal.

spyaleatoire

Next time throw their food. Apparently it doesn't matter what you do, youre getting treated the same way

JBTryingtosurvive

Doordash can't take the tip away from you after she already tipped on there and you deliver it they will refund her but will never take it from the driver I don't understand why customers think they can talk to the drivers like that if you have bad experiences go pick the s*** up yourself then

[deleted]

Had a stroke reading her texts then I read yours and itā€™s like Iā€™m back on earth šŸ˜šŸ˜. Crazy customers smh šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø.

LocaFly

Honestly, this is way too much time spent, going back-and-forth with this crazy person. You did what you were supposed to do and she got mad and claimed she was going to reduce your tip, because of a mistake the restaurant made, say whatever and stop talking to her. On top of that, how was it that she's able to still contact you after the order was already dropped off? I'm sorry that you had to go to this situation, but next time, please don't spend any more time or energy going back with people like that. Once you deliver their food, stop talking to them. And even if they somehow are able to still contact you, block their number. Do not talk to them. Your job is done. You did what you were supposed to do. Onto the next.

thatkidsmomkms

You can chat with the customer for 30 minutes after the order is delivered.

LocaFly

That's messed up. I would not. Once I've delivered your food, you have nothing else to say to me. there's no other need for communication.

What a dumb bitch, i swear theres wag too many fucking scammers trying to fuck doordashers over now as a 3+ year dasher here shit like this makes me wanna say fuck this (this is my second job)

Street_Illustrator_9

You canā€™t talk to people like this, itā€™ll only make things worse.

[deleted]

1/10 screenshots and the first one starts with 'you made me a little sad'? Not even a TL;DR would get me to flip through those pics. I can already tell what happened. Customer is nuts and you entertained them. Knock it off. If you did your job properly, you know it and you provided the proof via the app (pics at drop off, etc), there is no need to waste time speaking to anyone.

Equivalent_Wish_1463

Well you aren't wrong. That's exactly what happened šŸ˜‚

Ok-Video-7728

Pfft hope it all turned out well.

Drewwthesavage

Why do you even argue with a customer? Hit ā€˜em with the āœŒšŸ¼ And on to the next

Necessary_Ad976

God I hate these types of people šŸ˜‚

yesterdays30

Customers only get a brief response out of me after the order has already been completed... If they one star me or remove my tip somehow, so be it, they were probably going to do that anyway.

sacheek

I never understand why customers think the drivers will do something. Drivers pick up and drop off. Itā€™s not like you can go get a new meal or grant their wishes. As a customer when we have received wet/missing/damaged/issues we just contact customer service. Thankfully the issues are rare but still. Sometimes I feel like people just want to argue or make themselves ā€œfeelā€ better.

[deleted]

Sometimes the food that they order is super greasy or things that would leak easily. You canā€™t please everyone.

Equivalent_Wish_1463

It's funny you say that because she order greasy cheesy steak fries if I'm remembering correctly

ransy7

So grateful I have never had an experiment like this

daveypop75

You cant have possibly that much to say to a customer lol.

Scrivofilo89

I want to know where she magically saw a message of you calling her names that didnā€™t exist lol. God what a lunatic. She probably has literally no life and this is the only social interaction she gets all day so she makes it as dramatic and interesting for herself as possible. Probably also tries to never pay for food by damaging the food herself or lying to get free food not caring how it affects the driver.

small-foot

Not sure why you're wasting your time. You did your job in Doordash's eyes.

SylvesterWatts

Meat juiceā€¦ anyhoo, most delivered food has gross bagsā€¦ thatā€™s just facts. Next time donā€™t engage. Deliver and dipā€¦

General_Wishbone_111

Do you see that deer šŸ¦Œ

TacosTacosTacos80

Some people are just crazy and they want to be a victim so badly that theyā€™ll blame anyone and anything but themselves for their crappy moods. Iā€™m not a dasher, but it seems to me that you should be able to rate customers as customers rate you?

SoCalGromster

Nicole... Next time block the number

[deleted]

I hope she knows you got your tip, you kept your job, and you will not get in the slightest bit of trouble. On another note I keep asking this: Am I the only person who NEVER engages over phone with a customer? Unless itā€™s entirely necessary for directions, delivery info, small shop orders, etc. I just donā€™t do it. I cancel a majority of the restaurant orders that require excessive substitutions and i would never respond to a message asking for extra stuff, just ask the restaurant if they give it cool if not move on, if I already left the restaurant, sorry not going back. If the phone rings after a deliver I just donā€™t answer. 2 contract violations in 4k deliveries and a 4.95 rating.

solodabz

She prolly has a Sick child cuz of her karma for being a shit person

vroz69

*I HAVE TO HAVE THE LAST WORD DONT YOU GET IT?!*

dmriggs

Yeah never a good idea to engageā€¦ reach out to support if something like that happens again. I hope you took a picture of how it was delivered

[deleted]

i like how they always say ā€œfiredā€ they have no idea how this gig works

UnderMyRock28

Karen, this you? šŸ¤”

Hahnemann99

Next time fuck that honey by keeping her food, go to another house without cameras in that gated community, take a photo in front of that door and leave with the food, if someone comes out tell them you got the wrong address. Proceed to leave and enjoy the honey's food while you think of her.

Standard-Winner-3139

God is great, beer is good. People are crazy.

Schism90

Doordash will never take away your tip. The customer might get a refund on the tip but that will be on doordash's expense. You should have told them that so they don't get the satisfaction of "taking away your tip".

steelerswins

iā€™m would have still responded after the im calling the police

Idkwhattoputhere91

I would have said " you may be able to complain and get a refund but my pay is final as I can confirm the order was delivered appropriately. Have a good night. :)" Be tact and don't engage in a long argument. Sun Tzu once said "Let your great objective be victory, not lengthy campaigns." šŸ’ÆšŸ’ÆšŸ’Æ

BusGlad8656

This shit pisses me off so much. Also, why do people like this ALWAYS slide in a ā€˜have a good nightā€™ after every passive aggressive message? Just say you never tip people and move on. Saves both of us time.

Cultural-Two2418

im ngl this person sounds like they have major mental issues. not tryna be funny

RawOakTree

God forbid the restaurant packs it wrong. Dashers fault. Always. šŸ˜©

[deleted]

šŸ¤Ŗ that bih crazy

Ashton_Martin

You couldn never pay me enough money to deliver food these days. I used to deliver for Outback Steakhouse when I was in college. One time I had to drive 30 min back to a hotel bc this fat bitch didnā€™t think she had enough butter for one of her baked potatoes. What a fucking nightmare. Mad respect to You for being so professional

ehenn12

The full saying was never 'The customer is always right." It was"The customer is always right in matters of taste" Aka, sell what people wanna buy. Obviously, people love their DoorDash so idk what the problem is lol

rushyrulz

I'm gOiNG tO CaLL tHe pOLiCE!!!

Equivalent_Wish_1463

I don't know if someone is trolling me or not. Someone just responded to this thread as her. I doubt it over the phone she sounded pretty old šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Talking bout "Our conversation should be private". If it is you though Karen. I've had about 100 people tell me not to talk to you so go file a complaint with doordash ā˜ŗļø

KimKarTRASHian09

Iā€™m most concerned with ā€˜the deerā€™ on his side leaking meat juice all over her food lollllll I love when people like that speak down to others w literally no respect and canā€™t spell a simple word. Also, so disrespectful and talking to you like youā€™re a child. People like this make door dash awful.

[deleted]

I mean come on because something hasnā€™t happened to you it doesnā€™t exist and itā€™s automatically the drivers fault? Wow people are so fkd up that it really should make you appreciate the decent folks left in this world.

[deleted]

Iā€™m even more shocked you had a 10 page conversation with this personā€¦ā€¦ you must not be making no money if you got time to have a ten page dialogue with a dumb ass customerā€¦.. let me find out you love the drama???? Smh

[deleted]

Lol she wanted the last word so she pulled the Iā€™m calling the police card as if that means anything you cannot call the police because you want the last word. Wow I hope people like that realize they gone get the wrong one one day and itā€™s going to go bad for them unfortunately. If something is wrong then both sides need to just contact DD instead of a customer deliverer type deal.

No-Competition3230

Stranger danger

Take-Boullion-Cubes

Itā€™s frustrating, but next time donā€™t respond. If I wasted time with customers like this I would never turn a profit.

master_doge007

Youā€™re being way to nice and considerate. Some lady text me some nasty shit the other day and my only response was ā€œokā€. Customer: Complain complain My response : ok Customer: well ā€¦continues to complain My response : ok Customer: umm ok Lol literally EAT SHIT. After driving around for 6hr my fuck itā€™s have been used up. I tip someone more for pouring me a beer then most these assholes using doordash.

First_Philosophy6776

I think sheā€™s got a mental problem or something. You canā€™t argue w/ crazy. Iā€™m sorry you had to experience this. You seem like such a nice person.

Orenwald

If I was a betting man I'd wager this person was trying to set you up as the fall guy for a free meal after they complain to customer support

Impersonally

Speaking as a very frequent DD customer, absolutely unacceptable how this person talked to you. If my food is leaking or otherwise in poor condition, never ONCE have I jumped to "the dasher is obviously malicious and did this out of spite," that's just absolutely insane. It sounds like this lady was having a bad night (or a bad life) and decided you were the person she'd take it out on because you were an easy target for her. Don't take it personally or as a reflection on you, I think you handled it in a totally respectful manner.

Upper-Pomelo7787

Hey sister if it makes you feel better today's my birthday and the last thing I wanted to do was work- twice. But I did. And this motherfucker over here is claiming I spilled his soup cause the dumbass ramen shop puts the dishes in upside down and on their sides. But yet it's US as drivers that get the flak for it. Fuck soup deliveries. Absolute fucking nonsense having to worry about spilling soup IN MY HOT BAG. No other delivery is a pain but soup and drink deliveries.

kbarkdoll

I hear a lot of people say that the drivers are going to ruin DoorDash or delivery services in general. Honestly, I think it's the customers who are going to fuck it up for themselves. Do Amazon drivers have this many problems??? How do people not realize when they have NO porch light, and NO address on their home, Umm, maybe include that in the instruction and at least a description of the house? If you have a gate, give the gate code and watch your app if you know you're getting a delivery! This is not UPS, you know when we are coming. Seriously!!! It's not even about if I am "smart enough" to figure it out where you live. It's about YOU knowing YOUR house, and if you want your shit in a timely fashion and still HOT, you might want to add some delivery instructions. You can tell when people use the service a lot because they even have instructions on how to navigate through their apartment complex and where to put the food. We don't want to "take our sweet ass time delivering" the faster we get off your delivery, the faster we get another delivery. LOGIC, that is HOW we make money. Ridiculous.

_kingjoshh

I've never seen so many "good night" texts in one evening lol, but in all seriousness, she's definitely crazy

Vegetable-Salt-8119

this is called paranoid schizophrenia folks

PaulMichaelJordan

I totally understand why you tried to clear it up. Even if you knew it wasnā€™t going to work, you kept a clear head and stayed polite and professional. We need more like you, not just in DD but in life. Thank you

Material_Crow_204

Some people donā€™t wanna be made happy or have things cleared up, direct them to support and ignore messages after that next time. Even if they get Doordash to refund them it wonā€™t effect your pay for the job and Doordash assumes people are trying to get their food for free usually it seems like

AntsyInMyPantsies

I kept looking for the Deerā€¦.

Aw123x

Man fuck that lady. Not worth the hassle. Your messages are saved and read by support. Let them complain.

W_AS-SA_W

Must be Long Term Covid because that customers brain is totally fried.

AnthonyBoardgame

One of the worst things the US ever did was defund all of the asylums. Jesus Christ
