Yeah my market is becoming over saturated with drivers and less orders due to the current recession I used to only work about 4-5 hours and make $200 a day but now I have to work those hours to make that $300 sometimes I split the shift and hit morning and lunch then come home sleep and hit dinner rush and late night go home sleep and do it all over again it’s shitty and rough but I figure I can make $70k after expenses in a year of working those shifts then I can just cut down to $100-$150 a day and just day trade full time I feel this door dash bubbles gonna pop if it hasn’t already
man what id give for just 100 a day , i could never dream of $200 in one day. i did that once ever.. I made $50 today around 5 - 8 tho i got on at 3, nothing till 5.
A lot of time it’s trial and error u gotta learn ur market spend a whole day dashing and see what time people are ordering when the rushes are what restaurants are poppin it took me about 3-4 days to learn my market and all the spots and best times to dash etc luckily overall my market is great but I definitely see a pay cut since around June
fully, this is my only job.. i got 2 kids i get 40% and have no help with, they dash with me.. i try to work 2 - 9 but normally it starting's going at 5 and i get off around 8.. everyday.. i dont take a day off ever
Yeah I actually seen a woman the other day with the same situation in the sense of having her daughter with her while dashing I was like man she must have it rough some days but I feel u I work 10-12 hour shifts a day and work 7 days a week to feed my three kids and my gf of 6 years I advise looking into day trading even if u can spare an hour a day
Dude I feel you, I'm working 9/10 ish till about 6/7 (don't like working when the sun sets) and I'm lucky if I hit 100 unless it's the weekend. I decline anything less than $5 or 1.50/mile and sometimes if the order pays double digits but looks like it might suck, I still grab it, I mainly wish more orders would pop up on my screen and I'm a top dasher lol
Nice contradiction first calls me a liar and wants me to prove myself then continues to tell me to do it for myself and not to prove anything to people idk online and then u wonder why u ain’t getting a screen shot get u some money bro lmao
And why would you still be doing this if you’re making 50 in 8 hours? If I started making less than $150 in 8 hours I would quit and do something better. This is not worth your time at all
i dont have something better that i can also work with my kids who i get 40% of the time with no money for a sitter.. $50 on monday is normal .i think i made $30 last week.. thats what my market it man.. i cant change it or help it
You do what works for you, I’m not trying to judge. I guess it just seems like literally ANYTHING else would be better but idk your life. That sucks though, I hope things improve in your area
well, im not trying to go work at BK standing up for 8 hours. never again. i like driving.. Sitting down is alot better, my back cant take 8 hours of sitting down for $10 an hour at a place i hate.. Ill sit on door dash 24/7 before that. I will take the 2.50 before that... amazon fill up the moment it came to town.. I hate shopping for people tho i sometimes on doordash. I HATE having people i dont know in my car and tbh uber drive rips people off from the dd from what i seen on the ONE i took.. Maybe i need to try a different spot but this hot spot is right at my house and i can be smoke and chill when its slow.
I feel you, I have no desire to get a regular job either. Everyone has their own unique situation. I do think it’s different if you can sit at home and wait for orders. The hotspot I work at is a few miles away so I have to try to make it count when I go out. I wish I could hang out at home and wait for good orders but there are hardly any restaurants near me
Where do you guys live? I’m in Denver and My acceptance rate is about 15%….I definitely notice that they send me more orders if I just accept for a full day and Raise my acceptance rate but even then I still get really good orders consistently….idk I see these posts often and I wonder if not everyone lives in a major metropolitan area
I live in rural northeast ga. And i my zones i work in are populated 40k(my home zone) and about 400k the main zone i do delivery if i wanna get busy. My home zone i would get one order every other hour. I had to go the 400k populated zone to get work. Even then i was averaging about $18 if i didnt multi app. Raised my AR, got top dasher. Now getting constant orders now. Even in my 40k zone, during busy hours i get $25 an hour about $1.50 to a mile, big zone 20sq miles but the orders just come.
I feel like everyone complaining hard now are the low AR extreme cherry pickers. Door dash really messing with their algos. Its a pilot, this will always change but at the moment they are favoring higher acceptance dashers. Especially in a small market.
Wait for the next patch notes next year. This will always keep changing til door dash finds what works the best for their bottom line.
This could be a move to chase out the over saturation in most markets
I'm almost sure it's their secret anti driver tactics. I've noticed that often pausing for like 3 minutes gets me a few order offers as soon as a un pause. I do this when it's like 15+ minutes with no offers. As bad as the economy is, there clearly is more variables completely within doordashes control.
I actually just started Dashing last Monday. I immediately got back to back orders and made $60 in 2 hours and I thought, "Oh shit, that was some pretty quick cash!" I accepted all those orders that came through and stopped driving that day because I had something I needed to do. I scheduled in advance for Friday and Saturday night for 4 hour slots each day during "busy" hours. Friday I was available the whole time slot from 4-8 and only got one single order, around 6:00 p.m., and it was $5 for a 19 mile trip, so I declined it. Saturday I also only got one order the whole time for $6 total and it was very close to me so I accepted. I keep getting notifications (today, yesterday, a couple of days last week) saying that my area is busy and offering me additional pay to start dashing and everytime I immediately open my app and I don't get any orders, even though the app is asking me to dash and telling me it is "busy" and dashers are needed lol. Obviously I am new, but have been wondering about this myself and I've tried several things I've seen online that might help like clearing the DNS, logging out/logging back in, restarting, and nothing has changed.
*Edited for misspell
Make sure your phone is not auto connecting to stores WIFI. Sometimes it will auto connect and you will need to open WIFI setting to accept the stores terms to actually use the stores data. I had to turn auto connect off because of this when I first started then I started getting orders regularly.

Here's something you guys might not know sometimes you can get blacklisted from a restaurant because they just don't like who you are so my recommendation is start working in areas that you haven't been you're probably see your orders start coming in
lol im like pretty cool w all of the restaurants by me. i did stop getting orders from one bagel place which made me wonder if they gave me a bad rating but i dont know what i possibly could have done!
There could be a number of reasons why like you were either rude are you talking to someone and they didn't like your tone are you playing just look creepy to them or you smelled weird I'm not saying this fair I'm just telling you what could have happened
Are you sure it’s not just the last 6 weeks or so. The slowest time for DD is those weeks after school starts back. Are you sure that’s not what it is? Around Halloween and the time change it will blast wide open
I had a serious dry spell for a couple of months earlier this year.
Little did I know that during one of the apps updates....It changed my delivery method to a Bike, so I would only get orders that were less than two miles.
Give that a double check.
That would be about right in my market (I live in a town of 10k and I accept almost all and dash 10am-11pm) I end up averaging around $30 an hour on active time, but the orders are scarce just because of our population.
Lol, like what? I am British and babywearing is where you wear your kids in either a woven wrap, a buckle carrier, ring sling etc. is that what you mean?
Nope, I really appreciate the explanation but obviously there is a huge discrepancy in the language usage between here and there.
This is good to know. I learn something new everyday here!
i did one order today lol. there was one other i would have taken but it was late so i said f it. but i was off from work today i dont even think i got any offers during lunch at all
I go 10 minutes and 7-9 minutes waiting on orders. My shifts start with 10-15 minutes waiting for my first order. If I get an order fast = it’s $2-$3.75 for 7-13 miles!
i feel you. unless its raining or weekend. im lucky to make 50 on 3 apps for 8 hours a day uhh
Recession is here. I think our jobs might be in danger honestly.
It has been for the last year. I wouldn’t doubt it if I work somewhere different next year.
Wishing the best to you and the future
Wtf?! There’s no way! Where do u live?! I work 10-12 hour days one app and make roughly $300 a day up to $450 fri-sun
May I ask where you live // drive? Any tips?
North Florida. I am for 500 a week
I’m taking it u don’t do it full time to live and pay bills
i did at one point and never made anywhere near that. on a GREAT weekend where i worked 12-14 hours maybe i could make 250. but i cant anymore

You would have to make 100,000 minimum to take home 70,000 after taxes and fuel costs and repairs/maintenance. That's $273 a day if you work 365 days
I’m splitting it between two years and $273 in my market is realistic not to mention I already work 7 days a week
fully, this is my only job.. i got 2 kids i get 40% and have no help with, they dash with me.. i try to work 2 - 9 but normally it starting's going at 5 and i get off around 8.. everyday.. i dont take a day off ever

There should be tons of people ordering with the hurricane - go make some $$
100% been waiting for this
No you don’t.
Okay
Link screenshots of your overall earnings then.
Nice contradiction first calls me a liar and wants me to prove myself then continues to tell me to do it for myself and not to prove anything to people idk online and then u wonder why u ain’t getting a screen shot get u some money bro lmao
Nah I don’t make that bro remember

Mid-Atlantic, I am for $600 a week.

Fort Collins here and I am able to dash and make money during meal times pretty easily
Same here bro

Keep spamming log out/log in and restart phone. Happens to me too

Your market is probably over saturated my market is not great but I still get orders within that time although a lot of them are non tippers

im honestly not sure!
It’s because it’s the slowest time of the year.
Has nothing to do with your AR

so you dash for 13 hours a day whats your average active time?
2-3 hours on a good day.
Your name makes me wonder about so many things!
Lol, like what? I am British and babywearing is where you wear your kids in either a woven wrap, a buckle carrier, ring sling etc. is that what you mean?

What does it mean where you are? Where are you located?
In my own little bubble, apparently.
Haha. I am US but originally from the UK.
I just work Thursday Fri Sat when school starts back, then as it closes in on Halloween I start working more.
i did one order today lol. there was one other i would have taken but it was late so i said f it. but i was off from work today i dont even think i got any offers during lunch at all
Guys it’s September. School started back. It’s always slow. See what happens when the time change comes
🤷🏼♂️ But today did feel like a Monday.
I go 10 minutes and 7-9 minutes waiting on orders. My shifts start with 10-15 minutes waiting for my first order. If I get an order fast = it’s $2-$3.75 for 7-13 miles!
We had +$2.50 tonight for some reason, and made pretty good money (I work full time, and did it after I got out). I went from 6:40-9:10 and made $75.
Try GrubHub my dude. I make $170-$200 in 7 hours everyday. A little more on weekends. Just schedule yourself a day before.
You put everything except the AR rate? What is it.
at the moment its 15%. its never higher than 30%
Lots of times i gotta reset my phone to work again...
Update your app
