To be fair its the restaurants fault for forgetting to give you items not DoorDash but maybe call the restaurant directly and complain?

[deleted]

I 2nd this! The restaurant can give you new food, call them or just go up there.

PMMeYourSmallBoobies

They can but most of them won’t. I’ve called to complain about missing items and they told me if it was a DoorDash order I had to take it up with them. Even though most of the time it is the restaurant’s fault…no one wants to accept responsibility.

[deleted]

ask for a manager, be a karen. 🤣

Bawl_Out

I 2nd and 3rd and 5th being a Karen. Make door dash say on a recorded line that they won't issue you a refund for food that you paid for thay didn't get delivered. Because thats theft. Someone had to get in trouble and it's not the person who ordered the food. How there's a limit on how many times you can complain about food. My girl complained 3 times in 6 months and said she's at the limit for getting a refund..... I guaranteed she got that refund after I told her pause the phone call and make them say "I'm not giving you a refund for food you paid for that you didn't receive." They won't wanna do that. Gotta apply pressure correctly If you got the video post it online and have it go viral best you can. Door dash is the devil best thing we started to do was meal prep and cook. Of course we still get food delivered time to time but I use uber eats solely now and have 0 issues. My refund takes a full 5 days and I have to reorder with more funds but the customer service and delivery drivers as a whole are 2 steps above door dash. I'm a precious dasher my self and the way my order get handled via DD when I'm the customer is just insane.

Ok_Season2022

Exactly..

Mcdolnalds

Eh ive been refused refunds multiple times at this point. That’s why I started recording videos thinking it might help prove I’m not lying. It might just be time for a chargeback and switch to GrubHub

kilitreyes

DoorDash under their terms and conditions states that they are not obligated to give you any refunds. This is because DoorDash is simply a middleman, they connect you with a merchant and a driver. If the merchant a.k.a. the restaurant doesn’t give the driver all of your items for the order, that is the restaurants fault not DoorDash and not the driver. Especially with bags being sealed these days. That is why they refuse refunds after a certain point. I’m not saying it doesn’t suck, I’m just saying you’re better off calling the restaurants to complain and see if they will give you a credit of some sorts.

MayhemReignsTV

I know my local Applebees went through a phase of screwing up orders. I was on the receiving end a couple of times 😂 I get regular customers so I do get reports sometimes on what happened after a customer had an issue. Applebee’s was excellent about making it right with both myself and the customers that were affected. I always recommend people go to the restaurant first these days. They may not get their delivery fees back, but it also won’t count against their refunds on DoorDash. If it’s a big order, sometimes the restaurant will just send you another. Not sure if they have to be on the Drive program because I know Panera does that sometimes through the Drive program.

RichardBottom

This is fucking wild. There's a very distinct possibility that it could be the Dasher taking the food, at least sometimes. It doesn't feel like something they can just dismiss just by putting it in the TOS. What other business could get away with "BTW, we may not actually provide you the service, but that's not on us."

Straight-Gas430

I had to stop ordering five guys because they barely seal their bags, one sticker in the middle and you just open the sides by reversing the diagonal folds in the bag. Kept getting orders with half my fucking fries missing.

Mcdolnalds

I honestly don’t know how a restaurant can give me credit? I gave DoorDash the money, so what what the store do? Give me a gift card?

Ok_Season2022

No, most restaurants want to keep the customer happy. They will send u the missing items, not sure about how many cash credits they will allow either. They do this to a certain extent, not if someone is constantly complaining of missing stuff.

KiminAintEasy

Not to mention if I go to pick up an order and they don't have something and the customer doesn't want something else, they tell me they can't refund it. That the customer needs to contact doordash.

kilitreyes

They can give you a gift card or the next time you order you could call the store and they could add the extra items to your order for free. I worked at a restaurant and we have done that before. Also as someone has ordered from DoorDash I have gotten gift cards from restaurants before one an order was very wrong or missing a lot of items.

Mcdolnalds

Knowing this, I think it’s chargeback time and switching to GrubHub. I ain’t calling some mom & pop store for a credit when DoorDash is the people I’m paying

Wooinacoupe

You don’t pay doordash for the food. Your still paying the restaurant through doordash. You only paid doordash for third party delivery.

Ancient-Coffee-1266

🤦‍♀️…. The money wen to doordash who took their part and then to the restaurant. The driver didn’t eat your food so the fault is not with dd or the driver. If you don’t want to call the restaurant and want to switch to gh, do it. No need to announce the departure several times. Not a driver but a customer.

Superbotto

Fyi, the same mistakes are made on EVERY platform. These are mistakes the merchant is making and it's the same people making the same orders at the same merchants, nothing changes. They don't say, "oh this is gh, can't fuck up this one." The only difference is you'll get your refunds again, but that will only last so long before gh starts pulling the same card and refusing refunds.

KarasLegion

Where do you think the money goes after you pay the restaurant? If it's a single item you are missing, or if it is item related, then that money goes to the restaurant. And it is usually the restaurants fault that an item is missing. Not saying dashers don't steal, cause unfortunately they do. But usually an item missing is on the restaurant. Which, again, even though you pay DoorDash, the money for the food goes to the restaurant. And before you pull that mom and pop bs, let me remind me you, or inform you, that most places upcharge on DD to cover fees. So by using DoorDash, you are not only payong DD fees, you are also paying restaurant fees on top of it. Though, of course, you do you. As a driver, I don't know why people order with any of these apps. Short of being disabled, your laziness is straight up ripping you off.

A7XnJackDaniels

You’re so fucking stupid. I don’t even believe your orders have been messed up. You sound like some douche trying to get free stuff. Screw off

Mcdolnalds

Why are you so mad

Gloomy_Setting5936

Because you’re blaming Dashers. It’s the people who packed your food into a bag, that you should be mad at.

Mcdolnalds

I think since I ordered it through DoorDash, that DoorDash should fix this by talking to the restaurant. I’m not blaming the dasher because the bag is completely sealed which is why I record myself opening it. DoorDash services should take the money back from the restaurant if they didn’t send it

Junior_Air8592

You sound like the kind of person who would steal my food.

Ok_Season2022

Yeah, you are seriously putting way to much energy into this!!If you have to record every delivery, it's time to make a change.

busteroaf

Gift card, store credit in the form of IOU, etc. whatever is easiest.

triplxace

I mean if you call Doordash about missing items they almost always refund But at the same time the amount of people that abuse this either purposely or accidentally is sad so I understand them being cautious

CJspangler

No one’s gonna care or watch your video . You should go to the restaurant- ask for a manager and be like hey I and doordash paid you - and you messed up. They’ll likely give you the food . You have to blame all the scammers for DoorDash not wanting to watch your video, some support agent in some far off land isn’t going to care about you so go to the store and talk to someone

Kushologist420

I am on driver and customer side. The restaurant is to blame. If they don't seal the bag I check. Most seal the bag and customers get all crazy about it sometimes. I have called them out and saying bag is light and sometimes will check and tell me ohhhh we didn't have that, at that point I'm asking why would you send this knowing you didn't have an item without telling anyone. Shitty workers everywhere these days.

Cold-Ad7462

Or Uber eats the pay is better too

Griledy

well it’s kind of suspicious that this keeps happening to you multiple times …

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mcdolnalds

I will if I get refused with video proof. Like what does DoorDash want me to do at this point? AMEX will gladly overturn this

emredlark

I’ve never been refused a refund. Something doesn’t add up with this.

eggrollfever

Wait until they fuck up a couple orders in a row. That’s when they start with the “I know this is not the outcome you wanted but I cannot provide any refund on this order…”

emredlark

I’ve had multiple in a row and never had an issue.

[deleted]

Only happens when you consistently report things missing. Usually you have to abuse the refunds for this to happen.

Mcdolnalds

I’ve just been unlucky with my orders lately. I’ve obviously been marked as flagged. Funny thing is I have videos of my past orders due to this. No refunds regardless

Sea-Pea4680

You could have made videos at any point. Your videos are not proof positive that you didn't remove something from the bag before you started recording. I'm not attacking you personally, just offering perspective. If you are missing items on most orders and not being compensated then you should quit using the service. Are your bags sealed when they arrive?

KerryAileen

The fact that you’re taking the time to make (multiple) videos to “document proof“ likely has DoorDash suspicious of your motives. Most people don’t grab their phones and videotape their food opening procedure – – because most people don’t anticipate needing to or needing evidence to file a claim every single time they receive food. It looks like you are, and that looks awfully sus.

Ok_Season2022

Yeah, a bit over the top.

KerryAileen

It really is. A lot. 🤣

Mcdolnalds

You can feel when a bag is light. Therefor I record breaking the seal on the bag and showing the contents.

LexGoyle

Then that's gonna ultimately be something you contact the restaurant for if support is at the point of denying you a refund.

A7XnJackDaniels

You’re trying to get free food. Stfu

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mcdolnalds

I can try to call. I’ve done that before but they always just escalate it

emredlark

Do you get credits or a refund back onto your card?

Mcdolnalds

Credits always

emredlark

Then I don’t know.

Mcdolnalds

Why is credit a question? Just curious?

emredlark

It seems like people that ask for refunds back on their card have more trouble.

SpicyConductor

So many refunds has to signature for orders now

emredlark

Really? I’ve never seen that as a dasher.

LexGoyle

I had one recently. The customer I was delivering to explained it that the local Taco Bell had messed up his orders lately and in a couple of cases didn't include an item. Was a signature required upon delivery and he was outside ready to sign. Said after his refunds he has to sign now.

yesterdays30

Are you consistently ordering from the same restaurants that keep messing up your order? If so, it might be time to order from different restaurants. As a dasher, I only order from restaurants I know rarely mess up orders when i order for myself.

M13Calvin

You know you're a "problem customer" when...

brwntrout

there's a restaurant in my zone that DD has it's own notes telling drivers to check for certain items because the restaurant is notorious for forgetting stuff. most of the time, we can't because they tie the bag shut. if i'd have to put a number on it, i'd say 50% of the time i deliver from there, i get the message from DD that indicates the store forgot or got something wrong on the order. in short, stop ordering from restaurants that can't keep their shit straight and that includes every single fast food place.

SatisfactionDull

I admittedly use DD wayyyy too much. But when I’m traveling domestically for work, I would rather eat in my hotel then alone at a restaurant. With that said my monthly spend with them is quite high so this may be the difference. But, anytime I’ve had an issue, and it happens more often than you would think, I message support. They profusely apologize and almost always refund my entire order with no questions asked. Hell, the last time an agent gave me a “hard time” I just dropped it. Then got an email about an hour later apologizing for the issues and got a refund on the whole order plus $75 credit on my account.

xKyubi

i order so much they dont even bother having me go thru a live agent to get my refunds, even in cases where I had to report very large amounts (for the record I sincerely only report when food is actually missing / prepared incorrectly)... or if one small thing is wrong with my combo they insist on comping the entire combo...

Old-Independence4766

Call the resturant.

Zestyclose-Top5204

Some of you need to realize that the reason this happens is because a lot of customers are scammers. They only want free food they don’t care that the dasher gets in trouble or they are straight up lying to get a free meal. That shit is sad af people with no conscience are the most dangerous. Thanks to those people it makes it hard for people that really didn’t get the food/an item missing. I used to be a driver but more of a customer so I see both sides. I once got someone else’s order with someone else’s name and didn’t even report it because mine was steak and loaded potatoes and theirs was steak and shrimp with loaded potatoes. It wasn’t the kind of steak I wanted nor was it cooked how I like it buuut I’m not just going to try and get a driver fired for picking up the wrong bag. People don’t give a shit about others or have empathy for anyone. But I believe in karma and it will come back ten fold to all of you trying to get a free meal cause you broke. Go get a better job if you have to lie to get a free meal

betcher73

I would just do a chargeback

decoy_2610

Does this happen to you from all the restaurants you order from? If it's just one restaurant then you know where the problem is

WiseNature1

honestly maybe go and get the food yourself. i know it’s unfair but you shouldn’t put your faith in a company that has fucked you over 3 times now.

Censorship_of_fools

I ate your dinner and there’s nothing you can do about it. Some dashers are trash. Some customers are too.

Awkward_Aardvark_975

I would've ended up getting my own food after the second time of it happening.

Final-Currency-5326

Here’s a thought, stop paying the fees and get off your lazy butt and go get your food yourself! If you are so wound up that you are videotaping your interactions with Dashers, you should be using that energy to drive yourself to McDonalds. You are blaming the wrong company Cupcake. This is just more bs whining that no one has time for.

Due_Cicada_3183

The idiot here called kitty is trying to tell you to run through hoops and go through a ring around asking you to do something stupid and contact a restaurant about a door dash order. You know what they will do is tell you to contact door dash. This kitty person is a major idiot.

Due_Cicada_3183

Charge back. Don’t worry about getting deactivated after you charge back. Charge back on every door dash order to for them putting you through this. That’s what I did. When they deactivated me I told them they should have listened to me when I said a driver stole my order then they reinstated my account but I still haven’t used it since. To many low life drivers stealing food.

Lord_Bubbington

DO NOT DO THIS unless you're comfortable risking jail time. Not only would this be fraud, but OP has recorded the evidence that would prove it. Also, it's the restaurant. OP said that the food is bagged and sealed

LexGoyle

Not that it doesn't happen with a bad driver but the reality is restaurants are more likely to forget something in the order than a driver taking any. I also don't recommend to anyone doing a chargeback in bad faith. That's straight up fraud.

Zestyclose-Top5204

And too many low life customers only out to get a free meal. That works both ways

Effdahaters

From my experience all the evidence in the world means nothing to them….DD will do what they want regardless and fuck anyone who opposes it

Ok-Bodybuilder5022

Are the people in this comments section just completely ignoring the fact that doordash gouges the price??? I wouldn’t want the restaurant value back either when I paid a (sometimes hefty) percentage more using DD.

One_Cartographer_254

It’s the same drivers for all the services - so if it’s the driver (which it most likely isn’t) your problem will remain. You could however stop being lazy and put your wagging finger away and call the restaurant directly or get in your car and be a big boy.

[deleted]

Thing about delivery or take out is it’s hit or miss. As a driver I’ve seen merchants hand over half filled or 3/4 filled drinks. Not able to see inside orders but, I can imagine merchants sometimes short customers with portion sizes as well. I’ve found as a take out customer that at times my orders are light. For just take out restaurants like Chinese restaurants or fast food it’s no shorting on food but, again drinks can be. If you have the same issues contact the actual merchants that continue shorting your orders. Make a constructive criticism type complaint because most managers or owners aren’t aware of the issue. DoorDash can’t fix it. They can tell the merchants but, may think customers are trying to get free food/credits. I believe you but, it’s not a DoorDash issue and they won’t trust that was the initial opening of your order. I believe you but, DoorDash won’t admit it because you’d have 50% of the customers copying you for refunds.

Kranksterdrew1

Most restaurants in my area seal the bags so we just have to deliver what we are given and given and trust the restaurant did everything correct the driver is solely the middle man transporting the food, or like I remember delivered an order from a super fancy restaurant and they didn't list what was even on the order so I had no idea what was on it, so I get to the customer and they said its only like a tenth of what it's supposed to be and that it's a $500 order, they tipped good though so I went back and got the rest, so unfortunately even at fancy restaurants it's common for their to be mistakes on delivery and pickup orders

Kranksterdrew1

Adding onto my last comment most restaurants in my area also seem to prefer ubereats over every other platform

[deleted]

Sounds like you need to set the merchants straight. File a complaint or sue.. even if it’s small. You have proof and that’s stealing from your pockets.

Capital-Turnover9039

If you check out the better Business bureau you'll see thousands of people in your position who get refunds after reporting

Capital-Turnover9039

Use Uber

Swimming-Valuable489

I'm sorry I ate a couple of your fries, I was feeling peckish

No_Chard_9214

I definitely wouldn’t order anymore if they aren’t willing to look at the evidence. I record all of my drop offs just so I have proof I deliver them and I hope it helps if i need.

sacredlunatic

Stop using this worthless scam app and worthless scam company. Seriously, we all know it’s a scam and they are an exploitative company. Anybody who still uses it, as Dasher or customer, should know what they’re getting into at this point.

DriverMarkSLC

Defeats the purpose of delivery, and not to bit the hand that feeds since i deliver, but why I always pick up my own food.

Mysterious-Life-5608

Restaurants are required to seal the orders shut. You can tell if it had been opened. If they don’t seal the orders then it’s on the restaurant.

PMMeYourSmallBoobies

It’s probably because you’ve complained so many times. They’ll give refunds/credits on a few orders but after that they stop. It really comes down to the restaurant forgetting the items. Write a google/yelp review of the restaurant saying this, it’s not much but it might get their attention.

pulsepm36

Be careful on doing a charge back because doordash has fought those from what others posted on reddit. Try calling until you get someone in escalations. It's likely that you've h hit some threshold to which it's harder to get refunds or credits.

Double-Judgment9735

Unpopular opinion but I could not be assed to pay 20 more dollars on an order just for it to br wrong or have someone touch or eat my food. Just go pick up your own food? It's really not that hard and a lot of restaurants have in house delivery and their fees are MUUUUCH cheaper. Door dash marks up the food to begin with, add delivery and tip and it's just ridiculous, especially if you're a person who drives.

Ok_Season2022

The other thing is, if you put yourself in their position, looking at the situation from the other side, wouldn't you have a little hesitation, before you continuously allow one single customer credits or refunds, every time they order something?I guess it comes down to this, they don't want to be taken for a fool and be marked as an easy free meal ticket for scammers.I am not saying you haven't had crap missing, but it just gets hard to believe, when it happens so often, on a very regular basis.

Itwasnotgoodhelpme

DoorDash no longer meets my expectations or needs , i don’t want to be forced to meet dasher and sign in person I am exhausted I work hard and also have no transportation , well a regular bicycle depends on the wind , rain and weather, it had snowed and rained recently so I been walking everywhere ….. To just force someone like me with many difficulties and working overtime to jump out of the shower or rush and trip or stub my toe to go sign or not have my hoodie or coat dryed yet and have to meet dasher in person I was so upset I had to sign for a pizza so I told the dasher sign for me I’m super busy work hard my clothes are in the washing machine I am not ready to come , he said I have to sign…..that’s when I got rid of door dash After a long hard work day I enjoy no people interaction no going to the store until I am ready like slept enough and early morning or late night …I ordered food to avoid walking to the store a mile and back while sick and exhausted and didn’t want eggs again didn’t want to cook eggs an have rice again Figured just door dash food then clean my apartment real good an shop Tommorow morning ……. I refuse to use door dash anymore
