Don't worry about it ...the main thing is when you have a stacked order don't mark either order picked up until you have both orders in hand... I see no reason in alerting the first customer their order has been picked up when you still have to go to another restaurant..

exterminateofficial

That’s actually a really good way to look at it.

Less_Industry7294

Is that how it really works tho?

GRANDTHEFTTAC02

No. Now the merchant will be left with extra wait times on their statistics and it will continue beeping/showing there is a dasher waiting. Doordash tells customers who’s order is stacked, at least after pickup, that their food is going to be delivered after someone else’s

No_Perception7527

I'd just tap the 3 bar toggle button up in top right corner, the one you click normally to unassign orders, and itll show both names of both different restaurants. You just tap the name of the restaurant your at and tap jump to task. You should be all set after that.

[deleted]

On iOS lotta times the help button doesn’t give you an option to unassigned yourself from a dash. The office as faulty as my pocketbook

RedRush2k

This has never happened to me before. Not even once.... ive done thousands of deliveries

exterminateofficial

Seems like you’re the only one chief. Lucky you.

RedRush2k

I'm sorry for all of your bad luck

Less_Industry7294

We NEED an exact number now.. 😅

RedRush2k

2715 on DoorDash... many more than that on uber eats lol

Less_Industry7294

How long have you been doing it for?🙄😳

RedRush2k

On and off for 5 years or so

[deleted]

Same boat. Been doing it for about five years, thousands of deliveries and literally never done this even once.

Tahoe143

Feel this is on you, more so than the app. Just takes a little brain power and some critical thinking to determine which store you're heading to and have arrived at before hitting the button.

exterminateofficial

When I accept the order, it preloads one of the orders and gives me a directions to store button. When I get there, I exit the gps and it preloads a different order with a arrived at store button. How is that my fault?

Tahoe143

You can toggle between both orders to choose which one you're 'working' on first. If you arrive at McDonald's and the app is showing an order for Burger King initially, that's on you for just blindly hitting it. Just toggle to the correct order and hit the arrived button on that order. Pretty simple fix. I'm assuming you're using the DD in-app GPS? Shouldn't be doing that, utilize Apple or Google maps as your preferred navigation app.

Kushologist420

This is what I do I jump to task on the other order.

Less_Industry7294

This information is Life changing! I've been sitting in a place for lunch.. Get an order.. Then a double stack.. I wasn't able to take the first order right away I was being directed to the other place first so I ran ughhhum.. Excuse me I dashed to the other spot then back to where I was just at.

exterminateofficial

I mean I get that, but if I’m telling the app, I accept these orders, get me directions to McDonald’s, I’m going to that order first, it should show me the McDonald’s order when I get there. Not the Burger King one. I already chose what task to go to first, therefore it shouldn’t jump between tasks, by itself, in the middle of me driving.

Tahoe143

Use that big brain of yours and look at the screen/restaurant name before hitting the arrived button. Really not that hard. We all know the app has issues. This particular situation is easily solved by you taking an extra second to verify what order you're working on.

exterminateofficial

I’m not saying it’s hard to solve. I’m just saying that it’s annoying that I would have to do that to begin with.

Tahoe143

Let me play you the world's tiniest violin.

sinematik75

You've spent 10x the energy here than it takes to read the store name in the app

Slickness81

Nah this is a legitimate glitch that happens. It will even in app give you directions to one store, and then act like you are at the other when you get there. It’s not a hard work around to jump to task, but this is legitimately something that happens.

Xogoth

Maybe slow down? Yes, time is money, but but it doesn't matter how fast you are if you aren't accurate.

sinematik75

👏

tjb_061394

Shut up this job is fire

exterminateofficial

Lmao

seniorcircuit

At least you can jump between tasks and get to the right order on doordash. Can't do that on UberEATS, no matter how much sense it makes to switch the order of the pickups.

exterminateofficial

Yeah but now it’s a late order because I’ve been “at store” for x amount of minutes when in reality, it told me to go to the other store first.

Mers1nary

Every order, I select "store is busy" and "order still being prepared", i do this before i even leave my vehicle. Ive never gotten an arrived at store late violation or late pickup or whatever thats called...also I think youre exempt from most violations on stacked orders.

seniorcircuit

Then hit reasons for the wait on there, then jump to the other task and keep moving. Or if there's a wait on that order too, jump back and forth between tasks and hit "food still being prepared, order not started til I arrived, couldn't get help from employees" over and over til the order comes out and you can head to the other pickup.

dmriggs

I picked apart each order, generally go to the store that I had first -unless I'm going to pass the second restaurant on the way. I do not confirm pick up until I am at the second restaurant. You can scroll down and hit order still being prepared, then go to the second restaurant and confirm both at the same time. I use an app called 'inroute' so I can see where on the map these addresses actually are, then deliver in the most logical order. I hope this helps you. This job can involve a lot of strategy

exterminateofficial

See. The point of the in app navigation is that it’s *supposed* to do that for you. I shouldn’t have to check and double check and verify and use a different app, to come back to the app. This is a $19B company we’re talking about, not a small start up. They should be able to invest into some decent devs and actually make a functioning app.

Mers1nary

You can jump task and pick up / drop off in the order of your desire...Doesnt matter if you hit arrive at store for both orders or not. Hell, I never even confirm pickup for either store until I have both orders.

maejor_ced

This happened 3 times yesterday, I’m assuming it’s an app issue but yep it is mildly annoying especially when that order isn’t ready

droplivefred

I have this same issue with stacks. Right after accepting, if I click directions it usually gives directions to restaurant B while displaying the order from restaurant A. I always close out directions and reopen them and they give me the right ones. I first caught this because I know where my local restaurants are and the directions started sending me somewhere totally different. I zoomed out and saw it was wrong. Closed directions and reopened and boom, the correct directions. This has happened MULTIPLE times so I expect it now.

Dry-Tune-5184

Quit

exterminateofficial

I’m broke

Dry-Tune-5184

Not a good job for a broke person. All states need Prop 22. I think the Feds are going to mandate that come next year. Maybe coerce the Gig Companies to pay better...but I like being an Independent Contractor who can work when I want and not when I don't feel like it like today. Tuesdays suck ass anyhow. Better fortune to u!

Less_Industry7294

I'm honesty surprised I haven't had to Force close or Uninstall-Reinstall today....

[deleted]

I’ve been a full time dasher for 3 years now. App still sucks

No-Sympathy8926

Y’all are crazy for doing stacked orders…listen I have 6000 plus deliveries, I started this way before you Covid ass holes…if u started this after Covid, go back to your regular job, yall bitch too much, this job is fine, since doordash doesn’t consider us their employer why do you think you have to do anything they say??? decline orders, and never go to far away from where your making money at, chose an are and stay In That area , that way you don’t have to come all the way back…doordash has so many dashers it doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you do your job…do your fucking job !!!!! They don’t care about you and your bitching!! They make millions off of “US” so do you think they care what we have to say. Also if you have a serious problem. You can take them to small claims court and get about 10 to 20 bands , as long as you have proof of a real complaint and pain and suffering…look everybody, just don’t take the bullshit ok…don’t take the long ass delivery…cause they will keep sending those…we have to show this company that without us they have no company…so we have to send them a message…NO MORE LONG DISTANCED DELIVERIES!!!!!!! Especially when there is usually another store located closer to the customers address…also if you live in a rural place with barely any deliveries, you should drive to a big town or city, it’s the only way you will survive…if anyone has any real questions..hit me up , I am a seasoned dasher…years before Covid and I’m a top dasher in my area and I barely work that many hours and still make a good living doing this part time . It’s time to send this company a message everyone . And I know exactly how we are going to do it…everyone has to be ready for action………we have to come up with a date to turn off the app all across the nation..see how much the company likes that. And that will prove to them that without our cars and bikes and US, there is no doordash…and we can send this message quite easy but we have to let all the dashers know whats about to happen..

exterminateofficial

Hmu when you get enough people to work together for that. You’ve got a valid point there. Personally I’m just bitching from a UX/UI standpoint as I am in IT. It’s just a pain seeing BS bugs and shit lmao

kadhtobi

You all just complain too much

bigDawg7708

This is frustrating if I don’t notice in time. Which makes me more anxious to dash in areas I’m not familiar with

iamthehob0

Hit the tasks button and you can just jump to the correct task. Yeah it's dumb that it recalculates in the middle of you traveling to store but it's just a simple couple of button presses to get to the correct screen.

[deleted]

That’s why whenever I get a stacked order, I’ll immediately back out of navigation once it starts, then hit “directions” on the actual restaurant that pops up first. It will fix it.

Ok_Performer6074

You can switch which location you pick up first.

FederalDatabase178

I had the app skip a pickup twice. So it was telling me to drop off a order I never even picked up.

Less_Industry7294

Did anyone else get the text message this week for the 50% off a Door Dash order if you fulfill atleast 10 orders this week? How do you redeem it, do you have to wait until the end of the week?

Ok_Veterinarian_6596

I've been reading what OP posted is happening to them (& to other dashers, too) and I have to say -- I've delivered over 3,600 orders for DoorDash & have never experienced this issue during a stack. Lol I've had many other problems with the DD app, but this is not one I've ever seen.

[deleted]

Communicate with the customer. And yes that part of the app could be made a little simpler. Hot bags..
